Chapter: It Is Preferred for the Husband Not to Prevent His Wife from Going to the Mosque If She Asks for Permission
باب الاختيار للزوج إذا استأذنت امرأته إلى المسجد أن لا يمنعها
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 5366
Salim reported from his father that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When one of your women seeks permission to go to the mosque, do not prevent her.

(٥٣٦٦) سالم اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تم میں سے کسی کی عورت مسجد جانے کی اجازت طلب کرے تو وہ اس کو نہ روکے۔
(5366) Salim apne walid se naql farmate hain ke Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : jab tum mein se kisi ki aurat masjid jane ki ijazat talab kare to wo us ko na roke.
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When your women ask your permission to go to the mosque, or he said: to the mosques, then permit them.

(٥٣٦٨) ابن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تمہاری عورتیں مسجد یا فرمایا : مساجد کی طرف جانے کی اجازت مانگیں تو ان کو اجازت دے دو ۔
(5368) Ibne Umar (RA) farmate hain ki Rasool Allah (SAW) ne farmaya : Jab tumhari aurten masjid ya farmaya : masajid ki taraf jane ki ijazat mangein to un ko ijazat de do .
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not forbid your women from the mosques at night." His son said: "By Allah, we will certainly forbid them, otherwise they will make it a means of deception." Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) slapped him and said: "I am narrating to you a hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and you say this!"

(٥٣٦٩) ابن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم اپنی عورتوں کو رات کے وقت مساجد سے منع نہ کرو۔ ان کا بیٹا کہنے لگا : اللہ کی قسم ! سہم ضرور منع کریں گے ورنہ وہ اس کو دھوکے کا ذریعہ بنالیں گی۔
ابن عمر (رض) نے اس کو تھپڑ دے مارا اور کہنے لگے : میں تجھے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے حدیث بیان کررہا ہوں اور تو یہ کہہ رہا ہے !
(5369) Ibn Umar (RA) farmate hain ki Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya : tum apni auraton ko raat ke waqt masajid se mana na karo. Un ka beta kahne laga : Allah ki qasam ! sahm zaroor mana karenge warna wo us ko dhokay ka zariya bana lengi. Ibn Umar (RA) ne us ko thappar de mara aur kahne lage : main tujhe Nabi (SAW) se hadees bayan kar raha hun aur tu ye keh raha hai !.
Nafi' ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the wife of 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to offer the morning and evening prayers in the mosque. It was said to her: "Do you know that 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) does not like it? Then why do you come?" She said: "What prevents him from stopping me?" It was said to her: "This saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prevents him, as you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Do not prevent the womenfolk of Allah from (going to) the mosques.'"

(٥٣٧٠) نافع ابن عمر (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر (رض) کی بیوی صبح اور عشا کی نماز مسجد میں ادا کرتی تھیں۔ ان سے کہا گیا : کیا آپ کو معلوم ہے کہ عمر (رض) اس کو اچھا خیال نہیں کرتے ۔ پھر آپ کیوں آتی ہیں ؟ کہنے لگیں : کونسی چیز اس کو روکتی ہے کہ وہ مجھے منع کرے ؟ بتلایا گیا کہ ان کو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی یہ بات روکتی ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم اللہ کی بندیوں کو مساجد سے منع مت کرو۔
Nafey Ibne Umar (RA) se naqal farmate hain ke Hazrat Umar (RA) ki biwi subah aur isha ki namaz masjid mein ada karti thin. Un se kaha gaya: kya aap ko maloom hai ke Umar (RA) is ko achha khayal nahi karte. Phir aap kyon aati hain? Kehne lagi: kaunsi cheez is ko rokti hai ke woh mujhe mana kare? Batlaya gaya ke un ko Nabi (SAW) ki yeh baat rokti hai ke aap (SAW) ne farmaya: tum Allah ki bandiyon ko masajid se mana mat karo.
(5371) 'Abdul Hamid bin Mundhir bin Abi Hamid Sa'idi reported from his father and he from his grandmother that she said: Messenger of Allah, we love to offer prayer with you (i.e. in the mosque), but our husbands forbid us. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: It is better for you to offer prayer in your houses than in the mosque of your tribe and it is better for you to offer prayer in the mosque of your tribe than to offer prayer in the congregational mosque.
The Shaikh (al-Albani) said: The order not to prevent them is desirable, it is not obligatory (Fard or Wajib). This is the saying of the scholars.

(٥٣٧١) عبد الحمید بن منذر بن ابی حمید ساعدی اپنے والد سے اور وہ اپنی دادی سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! ہم آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ نماز پڑھنا پسند کرتی ہیں، لیکن ہمارے خاوند منع کرتے ہیں، نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : گھروں میں نماز پڑھنا تمہارے لیے بہتر ہے تمہارے قبیلہ کی مسجد سے اور تمہارا محلہ کی مسجد میں نماز پڑھنا یہ افضل ہے جامع مسجد میں نماز پڑھنے سے۔
شیخ فرماتے ہیں : نہ روکنے کا حکم استحبابی ہے، فرض اور واجب نہیں۔ اہل علم کا یہی قول ہے۔
(5371) Abd al Hamid bin Mundhir bin Abi Hamid Saeedi apne walid se aur wo apni dadi se naql farmate hain ke unhon ne arz kiya : Aye Allah ke Rasool ! hum aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath namaz parhna pasand karti hain, lekin hamare khaawind mana karte hain, Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : gharon mein namaz parhna tumhare liye behtar hai tumhare qabeele ki masjid se aur tumhara mohalla ki masjid mein namaz parhna ye afzal hai jame masjid mein namaz parhne se.
Sheikh farmate hain : na rokne ka hukm istehbaabi hai, farz aur wajib nahin. Ahl e ilm ka yahi qaul hai.
'Umarah bint 'Abd al-Rahman narrated from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that if the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were to see what the women have introduced (in religion) after him, he would have definitely prevented them from the mosques, just as the women of Bani Isra'il were prevented. They (the women) said: Yes.

(٥٣٧٢) عمرۃ بنت عبد الرحمن حضرت عائشہ (رض) سے روایت کرتی ہیں کہ اگر رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) دیکھ لیتے جو ان کے بعد عورتوں نے شروع کردیا تو وہ ان کو مساجد سے ضرور روک دیتے جیسے بنی اسرائیل کی عورتیں روک دی گئی۔ وہ کہنے لگیں : ہاں۔
