Chapter on Permission to Not Face It During Travel When Riding or Walking Voluntarily
باب الرخصة في ترك استقبالها في السفر إذا تطوع راكبا أو ماشيا
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 2200
(2200) (a) Narrated Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to offer (supererogatory) prayers on his mount, wherever it took him.
(b) 'Abdullah bin Dinar said: 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to do the same.
(c) Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to offer (supererogatory) prayers on his mount while traveling, facing whichever direction it was going.

(٢٢٠٠) (ا) سیدنا ابن عمر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنی سواری پر (نفل) نماز ادا کرتے تھے، چاہے وہ جدھر بھی آپ کو لے کر چلتی۔
(ب) حضرت عبداللہ بن دینار فرماتے ہیں کہ عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) بھی ایسا کرتے تھے۔
(ج) حضرت امام شافعی (رح) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سفر میں اپنی سواری پر ہی (نفل) نماز ادا فرماتے تھے۔ جہاں بھی اس کا رخ ہوتا۔
2200 a Sayyidina Ibn Umar RA se riwayat hai ke Rasulullah SAW apni sawari per nafl namaz ada karte thay chahe wo jidhar bhi aap ko lekar chalti
b Hazrat Abdullah bin Dinar farmate hain ke Abdullah bin Umar RA bhi aisa karte thay
c Hazrat Imam Shafi RA farmate hain ke Rasulullah SAW safar mein apni sawari per hi nafl namaz ada farmate thay jahan bhi is ka rukh hota
It is narrated on the authority of Sa'id bin Jubair that Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to offer (optional) prayer with gestures while riding, whichever direction his mount faced, and he would say that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do the same. Then he recited this verse: {And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face of Allah . Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.} (Al-Baqarah: 115) Then he said: This verse was revealed concerning this matter.

(٢٢٠١) سعید بن جبیر سے روایت ہے کہ ابن عمر (رض) اپنی سواری پر اشارے سے ( نماز نفل) ادا کرلیا کرتے تھے، اس سواری کا منہ جدھر بھی ہوتا اور فرماتے تھے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھی اس طرح کرتے تھے۔ پھر یہ آیت کریمہ تلاوت کی : { وَ لِلّٰہِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَ الْمَغْرِبُ فَاَیْنَمَا تُوَلُّوْا فَثَمَّ وَجْہُ اللّٰہِ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ وَاسِعٌ عَلِیْمٌ} (البقرۃ : ١١٥) ” اور اللہ ہی کے لیے مشرق و مغرب ہے جدھر بھی پھر جاؤ ادھر اللہ کا چہرہ ہے۔ بیشک اللہ تعالیٰ وسعت والا جاننے والا ہے۔ “ پھر فرمایا : یہ آیت اسی بارے میں نازل ہوئی ہے۔
(2201) Saeed bin Jubair se riwayat hai ki Ibn Umar (RA) apni سواری par ishaare se (namaz nafil) ada kar liya karte thay, is سواری ka munh jidhar bhi hota aur farmate thay ki Nabi (SAW) bhi is tarah karte thay. Phir yeh ayat kareema tilawat ki: {Wa lillahil mashriqu wal maghribu fa ainnama tuwalloo fa thamma wajhullahi innallaha wasiun aleem} (Al-Baqarah: 115) "Aur Allah hi ke liye mashriq-o-maghrib hai, jidhar bhi phir jao udhar Allah ka chehra hai. Beshak Allah Ta'ala wusat wala, jaan'ne wala hai." Phir farmaya: Yeh ayat isi baare mein nazil hui hai.
Narrated Ibn `Umar (RA): Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was proceeding on a journey from Mecca to Medina, riding his Mount, and he was offering the (voluntary) prayer (on it). He used to turn his face in whatever direction the Mount took him, and he continued offering the prayer. Ibn `Umar (RA) said, "This Verse was revealed concerning that prayer: "So wherever you turn your face there is the Face of Allah..." (2:115)

(٢٢٠٢) حضرت ابن عمر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنی سواری پر بیٹھے مکہ سے مدینہ کی طرف آرہے تھے اور (نفل) نماز ادا کر رہے تھے ، جدھر بھی آپ کا رخ ہوتا برابر نماز پڑھتے رہتے۔ ابن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں یہ آیت کریمہ اسی بارے میں نازل ہوئی :{ فَاَیْنَمَا تُوَلُّوْا فَثَمَّ وَجْہُ اللّٰہِ } (البقرۃ : ١١٥) ” جدھر بھی منہ کرلو ادھر اللہ کا چہرہ ہے۔ “
Hazrat Ibn Umar (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah (SAW) apni sawari per baithe Makkah se Madina ki taraf aa rahe thay aur (nafal) namaz ada kar rahe thay, jidhar bhi aap ka rukh hota barabar namaz parhte rehte. Ibn Umar (RA) farmate hain yeh ayat kareema isi bare mein nazil hui: {Fa ainma tuwalloo fathamma wajhullah} (Al-Baqarah: 115) "Jidhar bhi munh karo udhar Allah ka chehra hai."
Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) during the Ghazwa of Anmar, offering voluntary prayers while riding his mount, facing towards the east.

(٢٢٠٣) حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ انصاری (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو غزوہ انمار میں اپنی سواری پر مشرق کی طرف منہ کر کے نفل نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا۔
(2203) Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari (RA) se riwayat hai ki maine Rasool Allah (SAW) ko Ghazwa Anmar mein apni سواری par mashriq ki taraf munh kar ke nafl namaz parhte hue dekha.
Narrated by Hassan (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that he did not see any harm in offering nafl prayer while riding a camel, facing in any direction the camel's face was pointing. And if he reached an ayah of Sajdah, he would recite it and perform Sajdah.

(٢٢٠٤) حضرت حسن (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ وہ اونٹوں کو ہانکتے ہوئے جدھر بھی ان کا چہرہ ہوتا، نفل نماز پڑھنے میں کوئی حرج نہیں سمجھتے تھے۔ اگر وہ آیت سجدہ پر پہنچتے تو اسے پڑھتے اور سجدہ کرتے تھے۔
Hazrat Hassan (RA) se riwayat hai ki woh oonton ko hankte hue jidhar bhi un ka chehra hota, nafl namaz parhne mein koi harj nahi samjhte thay. Agar woh ayat sajda par pahuchte to use parhte aur sajda karte thay.
