Chapter on One Who Bows Before Joining the Row, Which Indicates Catching Up with the Rak'ah, Otherwise It Would Not Be Obligatory
باب من ركع دون الصف وفي ذلك دليل على إدراك الركعة ولولا ذلك لما تكلفوه

(2584) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Hasan that Abu Bakra entered the mosque and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had already gone into bowing (ruku). He (Abu Bakra) also bowed before joining the row. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said (after the prayer): May Allah increase your eagerness (in prayer). Don't do that again.
(b) Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Your (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying "La tu'id" (don't do that again) is like your saying "La tatu as-salata tasa'un" (don't come to prayer running). Meaning that it's not necessary for you to bow until you reach your place in the row, because that is hardship. Just as when you hear the standing (qiyam), it is not obligatory upon you to run.

(٢٥٨٤) (ا) حسن سے روایت ہے کہ ابوبکرہ مسجد میں داخل ہوئے اور نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) رکوع میں جا چکے تھے۔ انھوں نے بھی صف میں ملنے سے پہلے رکوع کرلیا۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے (نماز کے بعد) فرمایا : اللہ تعالیٰ تمہاری (نماز میں) حرص کو بڑھائے۔ دوبارہ اس طرح نہ کرنا۔
(ب) امام شافعی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا فرمان ” لا تعد “ آپ کے اس قول کی طرح ہے ” لا تاتوا الصلاۃ تسعون “ تم نماز کے لیے دوڑتے ہوئے نہ آؤ۔ یعنی تجھے رکوع کرنا ضروری نہیں جب تک تو صف میں اپنی جگہ نہ پہنچ جائے۔ کیونکہ اس میں مشقت ہے۔ جیسا کہ جب تو اقامت سن لے تو تجھے دوڑنا لازمی نہیں۔
(2584) (a) Hasan se riwayat hai ki Abu Bakr masjid mein dakhil huye aur Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ruku mein ja chuke thay. Unhon ne bhi saf mein milne se pehle ruku karliya. Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne (namaz ke baad) farmaya: Allah ta'ala tumhari (namaz mein) haris ko barhaye. Dobara is tarah na karna.
(b) Imam Shafi (rah) farmate hain: Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka farman "la tu'id" aap ke is qaul ki tarah hai "la taatu assalatu tas'aun" tum namaz ke liye daurte huye na aao. Yani tujhe ruku karna zaruri nahin jab tak tu saf mein apni jaga na pahunch jaye. Kyunki is mein mushkil hai. Jaisa ki jab tu iqamat sun le to tujhe dauda lazmi nahin.
Abu Bakr bin Abdur Rahman narrated that Abu Bakr Siddiq and Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with them) both entered the mosque while the Imam was in ruku (bowing). They both immediately went into ruku, then while still in ruku, they walked to join the row.

(٢٥٨٥) ابوبکر بن عبدالرحمن سے روایت ہے کہ ابوبکر صدیق اور زید بن ثابت (رض) دونوں مسجد میں داخل ہوئے اور امام رکوع میں تھا۔ ان دونوں نے فوراً رکوع کیا، پھر رکوع کی حالت میں ہی چلتے ہوئے صف کے ساتھ جا کر مل گئے۔
2585 Abu Bakr bin Abdur Rahman se riwayat hai ki Abu Bakr Siddiq aur Zaid bin Sabit (RA) dono masjid mein dakhil hue aur imam ruku mein tha. Un dono ne foran ruku kiya, phir ruku ki halat mein hi chalte hue saf ke sath ja kar mil gaye.
Ibn Shihab narrated to me that Abu Umama Sahl bin Hunaif informed me that he saw Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him). He (Zaid) entered the mosque while the Imam was in bowing (Ruku). He immediately said Takbir and went into bowing, then joined the row (of worshippers) walking slowly.

(٢٥٨٦) ابن شہاب سے روایت ہے کہ مجھے ابو امامہ سہل بن حنیف نے خبر دی کہ انھوں نے زید بن ثابت (رض) کو دیکھا، وہ مسجد میں داخل ہوئے اور امام رکوع میں تھا۔ وہ فوراً تکبیر کہہ کر رکوع میں چلے گئے ، پھر آہستہ آہستہ چلتے ہوئے صف میں شامل ہوگئے۔
2586 Ibn Shahab se riwayat hai keh mujhe Abu Imama Sahl bin Hanif ne khabar di keh unhon ne Zaid bin Sabit (RA) ko dekha, woh masjid mein dakhil huwe aur Imam ruku mein tha. Woh foran takbeer keh kar ruku mein chale gaye, phir ahistah ahistah chalte huwe saf mein shamil hogaye.
Narrated Zaid bin Wahab: I went out with Abdullah bin Masud (RA) from his house towards the mosque. When we reached the mosque, the Imam was in bowing position (Ruku). Abdullah (RA) said Takbeer and went into bowing position and I also did the same with him. Then we walked in the state of bowing till we reached the row before the people raised their heads. When the Imam finished the prayer by saying Salam, I stood up as I thought I had not offered the prayer. Abdullah bin Masud (RA) caught my hand and made me sit down. He then said: You have offered the prayer.

(٢٥٨٧) زید بن وہب سے روایت ہے کہ میں عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) کے ہمراہ ان کے گھر سے مسجد کی طرف آیا۔ جب ہم مسجد میں پہنچے تو امام رکوع میں تھا۔ عبداللہ (رض) نے تکبیر کہی اور رکوع کیا، میں نے بھی ان کے ساتھ رکوع کیا۔ پھر ہم حالتِ رکوع میں ہی چلے حتیٰ کہ لوگوں کے سر اٹھانے سے پہلے ہم صف تک جا پہنچے۔ جب امام نے نماز مکمل کر کے سلام پھیرا تو میں کھڑا ہوگیا؛ کیونکہ میرا خیال تھا کہ میں نے رکعت نہیں پائی۔ عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) نے میرا ہاتھ پکڑا اور مجھے بٹھا دیا۔ پھر فرمایا : تم نے رکعت پا لی ہے۔
2587 Zaid bin Wahab se riwayat hai ki main Abdullah bin Masood (rz) ke hamrah un ke ghar se masjid ki taraf aaya Jab hum masjid mein pahunche to imam rukoo mein tha Abdullah (rz) ne takbeer kahi aur rukoo kiya main ne bhi un ke saath rukoo kiya Phir hum halat rukoo mein hi chale hatta ke logon ke sar uthane se pehle hum saf tak ja pahunche Jab imam ne namaz mukammal kar ke salam phera to main khara hogaya kyunki mera khayal tha ki main ne rakat nahi paai Abdullah bin Masood (rz) ne mera hath pakra aur mujhe bitha diya Phir farmaya tum ne rakat pa li hai
