Chapter on One Who Says to Place His Hands Before His Knees
باب من قال يضع يديه قبل ركبتيه
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 2633
(2633) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When one of you prostrates, let him not sit like a camel sits, but let him first place his hands on the ground, then his knees.
(b) It is narrated on the authority of Abu Dawud that Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Hasan informed me that one should place his hands before his knees.

(٢٦٣٣) (ا) ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تم میں سے کوئی سجدہ کرے تو اونٹ کی طرح نہ بیٹھے، بلکہ پہلے اپنے ہاتھ زمین پر رکھے پھر اپنے گھٹنے ۔
(ب) ابوداؤد کی روایت ہے کہ مجھے محمد بن عبداللہ بن حسن نے خبر دی کہ اپنے ہاتھ اپنے گھٹنوں سے پہلے رکھے۔
(2633) (a) Abu Huraira (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Jab tum mein se koi sajdah kare to unt ki tarah na baithe, balki pehle apne hath zameen par rakhe phir apne ghutne.
(b) Abu Dawud ki riwayat hai ki mujhe Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Hasan ne khabar di ki apne hath apne ghutnon se pehle rakhe.
(2634) (a) Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When one of you prostrates, he should not sit like a camel sits, but rather place his hands before his knees.
(b) He (narrator) said: "ala rukbataihi" meaning on his knees. If this narration is sound, it is proof that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would place his hands before his knees when going into prostration.

(٢٦٣٤) (ا) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تم میں سے کوئی سجدہ کرنے لگے تو اونٹ کی طرح نہ بیٹھے ، بلکہ اپنے ہاتھوں کو گھٹنوں سے پہلے رکھے۔
(ب) انھوں نے ” علی رکبتیہ “ کے الفاظ بیان کیے ہیں۔ اگر یہ روایت درست ہو تو یہ دلیل ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سجدے میں جاتے وقت ہاتھوں کو گھٹنوں سے پہلے رکھتے تھے۔
2634 a Hazrat Abu Huraira raz se riwayat hai ki Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jab tum mein se koi sajdah karne lage to unt ki tarah na baithe balki apne hathon ko ghutnon se pehle rakhe b unhon ne ali rakbatia ke alfaz bayan kiye hain agar ye riwayat durust ho to ye daleel hai ki aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sajde mein jate waqt hathon ko ghutnon se pehle rakhte the
(2635) (a) Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any of you prostrates, let him place his knees down before his hands, and do not sit like a camel sits.
Grade: Da'if
(٢٦٣٥) (ا) سیدنا ابوہریرہ (رض) روایت ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تم میں سے کوئی سجدہ کرے تو اپنے ہاتھوں سے پہلے گھٹنے رکھے اور اونٹ کی طرح نہ بیٹھے۔
2635 a syedna abuhuraira raz riwayat hai ke aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jab tum mein se koi sajda kare to apne hathon se pehle ghutne rakhe aur unt ki tarah nah baithe
(2636) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Some of you take support during prayer and sit like a camel sits.
(b) It is understood from the narrations that this ruling (of placing the hands first) has been abrogated and the abrogating narration is of Wa'il bin Hujr, although its chain of narration is weak.
Grade: Da'if
(٢٦٣٦) (ا) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم میں سے بعض لوگ نماز میں سہارا لیتے ہیں اور اس طرح بیٹھتے ہیں جیسے اونٹ بیٹھتا ہے۔
(ب) روایات سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ (ہاتھ پہلے رکھنے کا) یہ حکم منسوخ ہوچکا ہے اور ناسخ وائل بن حجر کی روایت ہے ، اگرچہ اس کی سند ضعیف ہے۔
2636 a Hazrat Abu Huraira RA se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah SAW ne farmaya tum mein se baaz log namaz mein sahara lete hain aur is tarah baithte hain jaise unt baithta hai
b Riwayat se maloom hota hai ke hath pehle rakhne ka yeh hukum mansukh ho chuka hai aur nasikh wail bin hajar ki riwayat hai agarcheh is ki sanad zaeef hai
(2637) (a) Narrated Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him): "At first we used to place our hands before our knees (during prostration). Then we were ordered to place our knees before our hands."
Grade: Da'if
(٢٦٣٧) (ا) سیدنا سعد (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ شروع میں ہم گھٹنوں سے پہلے ہاتھ رکھا کرتے تھے۔ پھر ہمیں حکم دیا گیا کہ ہم ہاتھوں سے پہلے گھٹنے رکھیں۔
(2637) (a) Sayyidina Saad (RA) se riwayat hai ki shuru mein hum ghutnon se pehle hath rakha karte the. Phir hamen hukm diya gaya ki hum hathon se pehle ghutne rakhen.
(2638) (a) Narrated Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he would place his hands on the ground before his knees and he would say that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do so.
(b) In another narration, it is narrated that when any one of you prostrates, he should first place his hands and when he gets up, he should raise both of them together, because the hands also prostrate as the face prostrates.

(٢٦٣٨) (ا) حضرت ابن عمر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ وہ گھٹنوں سے پہلے اپنے ہاتھ زمین پر رکھتے تھے اور فرماتے تھے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس طرح کرتے تھے ۔
(ب) ایک دوسری روایت میں ہے کہ جب تم میں سے کوئی سجدہ کرے تو پہلے اپنے ہاتھ رکھے اور جب اٹھے تو ان دونوں کو ایک ساتھ اٹھائے؛ کیونکہ ہاتھ بھی سجدہ کرتے ہیں جس طرح چہرہ سجدہ کرتا ہے۔
2638 a Hazrat Ibn Umar (RA) se riwayat hai ki woh ghutnon se pehle apne hath zameen par rakhte thay aur farmate thay ki Nabi (SAW) is tarah karte thay
b Aik dusri riwayat mein hai ki jab tum mein se koi sajdah kare to pehle apne hath rakhe aur jab uthay to in donon ko ek sath uthaye kyunki hath bhi sajdah karte hain jis tarah chehra sajdah karta hai
(2639) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the hands also prostrate just as the face prostrates. Therefore, when any one of you places his face on the ground for prostration, he should also place his hands with it, and when he raises his face, he should also raise his hands.

(٢٦٣٩) (ا) سیدنا ابن عمر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ بیشک ہاتھ بھی سجدہ کرتے ہیں جس طرح چہرہ سجدہ کرتا ہے؛ لہٰذا جب تم میں سے کوئی اپنے چہرے کو سجدے کے لیے زمین پر رکھے تو اپنے ہاتھ بھی ساتھ ہی رکھے اور جب چہرہ اٹھائے تو ہاتھوں کو بھی اٹھالے۔
(2639) (a) Sayyidina Ibn Umar (RA) se riwayat hai ki beshak hath bhi sajdah karte hain jis tarah chehra sajdah karta hai lihaza jab tum mein se koi apne chehre ko sajde ke liye zameen par rakhe to apne hath bhi sath hi rakhe aur jab chehra uthaye to hathon ko bhi uthale.
