Chapter on What Is Recommended for the Worshipper Not to Shorten His Supplication Before the Salam
باب ما يستحب له أن لا يقصر عنه من الدعاء قبل السلام

Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to supplicate in his prayer: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You... from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the misleading of the Antichrist, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of sin and debt." Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah, why do you seek so much refuge from debt?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "When a person is in debt, he resorts to lying and breaks his promises."

(٢٨٨١) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) فرماتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز میں یہ دعا کیا کرتے تھے : اللہم انی عوذبک۔۔۔ ” اے اللہ میں قبر کے عذاب سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اور میں مسیح دجال کے بہکانے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اور گناہ اور قرض کے فتنے سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔ سیدہ عائشہ (رض) فرماتی ہیں کہ ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے پوچھا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا وجہ ہے کہ آپ قرض سے بہت زیادہ پناہ مانگتے ہیں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : آدمی جب قرض دار ہوتا ہے تو جھوٹ کا سہارا لیتا ہے اور وعدہ خلافی بھی کرتا ہے۔
(2881) Syeda Ayesha (Razi Allah Anha) farmati hain ke Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) namaz mein yeh dua kya karte thay: Allahumma inni a'udhubika... "Aye Allah mein qabar ke azab se teri panaah mangta hun aur mein Maseeh Dajjal ke behkane se teri panaah mangta hun aur gunah aur qarz ke fitne se teri panaah mangta hun." Syeda Ayesha (Razi Allah Anha) farmati hain ke ek shakhs ne Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se poocha: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Kya wajah hai ke aap qarz se bohat zyada panaah mangte hain? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Aadmi jab qarzdar hota hai to jhoot ka sahara leta hai aur waada khilafi bhi karta hai.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When a person sits after the last Tashahhud, he should seek refuge from four things. He should say: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika…” O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hellfire, from the punishment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the tribulation of the Dajjal (Antichrist).

(٢٨٨٢) سیدنا ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب آدمی آخری تشہد میں بیٹھے تو چار چیزوں سے پناہ طلب کرے۔ وہ کہے ” اللہم انی اعوذبک۔۔۔“ اے اللہ ! میں جہنم کے عذاب سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں اور قبر کے عذاب سے، زندگی اور موت کے فتنوں سے اور مسیح دجال کے فتنے سے۔
(2882) Sayyidina Abu Hurairah (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Jab aadmi aakhiri tashahhud mein baithe to chaar cheezon se panah talab kare. Woh kahe ” Allahumma inni a'udhu bika۔۔۔“ Aye Allah ! Mein jahannam ke azab se panah mangta hun aur qabar ke azab se, zindagi aur maut ke fitnon se aur Masih Dajjal ke fitne se.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any one of you finishes his prayer, let him seek refuge with Allah from four things, then let him ask for whatever he wishes. Let him say: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hellfire, and from the punishment of the grave, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the tribulation of the Dajjal.

(٢٨٨٣) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص اپنی نماز سے فارغ ہو تو اللہ سے چار چیزوں کے بارے میں دعا کرے، اس کے بعد جو چاہے مانگے۔ یوں دعا کرے : اے اللہ ! میں جہنم اور قبر کے عذاب سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اور زندگی اور موت کے فتنوں سے اور مسیح دجال کے فتنہ سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔
(2883) Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) farmate hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Jab tum mein se koi shakhs apni namaz se farigh ho to Allah se chaar cheezon ke bare mein dua kare, is ke baad jo chahe mange. Yun dua kare : Aye Allah ! mein jahannam aur qabar ke azab se teri panaah mangta hun aur zindagi aur maut ke fitnon se aur Masih Dajjal ke fitna se teri panaah mangta hun.
Narrated AbuBakr (RA): I said: O Messenger of Allah, teach me an invocation with which I may invoke Allah in my prayer. He (the Prophet) said: Say: "Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran, wa la yaghfiru الذنوب illa anta, faghfir li maghfiratan min 'indika war hamni, innaka anta al-Ghafurur-Rahim." (O Allah, I have wronged my soul very much (by disobeying You), and none can forgive sins but You. So grant me forgiveness from Yourself and have mercy on me. Verily, You are the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.)

(٢٨٨٤) سیدنا ابوبکر صدیق (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ انھوں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے عرض کیا کہ مجھے کوئی دعا سکھا دیں جو میں اپنی نماز میں کیا کروں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : کہو : اللہم انی ظلمت۔۔۔ ” اے اللہ ! بیشک میں نے اپنی جان پر بہت زیادہ ظلم کردیا۔ تیرے سوا گناہوں کو بخشنے والا کوئی نہیں، تو اپنی خاص بخشش سے مجھے بخش دے اور مجھ پر رحم کر، بیشک تو ہی بخشنے والا مہربان ہے۔
2884 Saidna Abu Bakar Siddique (RA) se riwayat hai ki unhon ne Rasulullah (SAW) se arz kiya ki mujhe koi dua sikha dein jo main apni namaz mein kiya karoon. Aap (SAW) ne farmaya: kaho: Allahumma inni zalamtu... "Aye Allah! beshak maine apni jaan par bahut zyada zulm kardiya. Tere siwa gunahon ko bakhshne wala koi nahin, tu apni khas bakhshish se mujhe bakhsh de aur mujh par reham kar, beshak tu hi bakhshne wala meherban hai.
