باب ما تصلي فيه المرأة من الثياب
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 3250
Muhammad bin Zaid Qarshi narrates from his mother that she asked Umm al-Mu'minin Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): "In how many garments can a woman pray?" She replied, "She should pray in a large shawl and a large shirt that covers the upper part of her feet."

(٣٢٥٠) محمد بن زید قرشی اپنی والدہ سے نقل کرتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے ام المومنین ام سلمہ (رض) سے پوچھا : عورت کتنے کپڑوں میں نماز پڑھ سکتی ہے ؟ انھوں نے جواب دیا کہ ایک بڑی چادر اور بڑی قمیض میں نماز پڑھے جو پاؤں کے اوپر والے حصے کو ڈھانپ لے۔
3250 Muhammad bin Zaid Qarshi apni walida se naql karte hain ke unhon ne Umm ul Momineen Umm Salma (Razi Allahu Anha) se poocha: Aurat kitne kapdon mein namaz parh sakti hai? Unhon ne jawab diya ke ek badi chadar aur badi qameez mein namaz parhe jo paon ke upar wale hisse ko dhaanp le.
Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "Can a woman pray in a headscarf and a chemise without a waist wrapper?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If the chemise is loose and long enough to cover the tops of her feet, then she may."

(٣٢٥١) ام سلمہ (رض) بیان کرتی ہیں کہ میں نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے پوچھا : کیا عورت ایک اوڑھنی اور قمیص میں تہبند کے بغیر نماز پڑھ سکتی ہے ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اگر قمیص اتنی کھلی اور کشادہ ہو جو پاؤں کے اوپر والے حصے کو ڈھانپ لے تو پھر پڑھ سکتی ہے۔
3251 Umm Salma (Razi Allah Anha) bayan karti hain ke maine Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se poocha: kya aurat ek orhni aur qameez mein tehband ke baghair namaz parh sakti hai? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: agar qameez itni khuli aur kushada ho jo paon ke upar wale hisse ko dhaanp le to phir parh sakti hai.
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever trails his garment out of pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection." Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "O Messenger of Allah, what should women do with their garments?" He said, "They should let them down by a hand's length." They said, "Then their feet will be uncovered." He said, "Let them down by a cubit, but no more than that."

(٣٢٥٢) حضرت ابن عمر (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو شخص تکبر کے ساتھ اپنے کپڑے کو نیچے لٹکا کر گھسٹ کر چلتا ہے تو اللہ تعالیٰ کل قیامت کے روز اس کی طرف (نظر رحمت سے) نہیں دیکھے گا۔ ام سلمہ (رض) نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! عورتوں کے بارے میں کیا حکم ہے ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ایک ہاتھ، انھوں نے کہا : تب تو پنڈلیاں نکل جاتی ہیں یا کہا کہ ان کے قدم نکل جائیں گے ؟ آپ نے فرمایا : ایک ذراع تک کرلیں اس سے زیادہ نہ کریں۔
Hazrat Ibn Umar (RA) bayan karte hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Jo shakhs takabbur ke sath apne kapre ko neeche latka kar ghisat kar chalta hai to Allah Ta'ala kal qayamat ke roz uski taraf (nazar-e-rehamat se) nahin dekhega. Umm Salma (RA) ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Auraton ke bare mein kya hukum hai? Aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Ek hath, unhon ne kaha: Tab to pindliyan nikal jati hain ya kaha keh unke qadam nikal jayenge? Aap ne farmaya: Ek zarra tak kar len is se ziada na karen.
(3253) (a) Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The lower part of a woman's garment should be a handspan." I said: "Then her feet will become uncovered?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then make it a cubit, but do not exceed it."
(b) This hadith is proof that it is obligatory for women to cover their feet.

(٣٢٥٣) (ا) ام المومنین سیدہ ام سلمہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : عورت کے کپڑے کے دامن کا نچلا حصہ ایک ہاتھ ہو۔ میں نے عرض کیا : تب تو اس کے قدم نکل جائیں گے ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ایک ذراع کرلیں لیکن اس سے تجاوز نہ کریں۔
(ب) اس حدیث میں عورت کے قدموں کے ڈھانپنے کے وجوب پر دلیل ہے۔
3253 a Umm ul Momineen Sayyida Umm e Salma (Razi Allahu Anha) se riwayat hai ke Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Aurat ke kapre ke daaman ka nichla hissa ek hath ho. Maine arz kiya: Tab to uske kadam nikal jayenge? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Ek zarah kar len lekin is se tajawuz na karen. b Is hadees mein aurat ke kadmon ke dhanpne ke wujoob par daleel hai.
Narrated Aisha (RA): Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: The prayer of a woman who has reached the age of menstruation is not accepted without a Khamar (head covering). Abu Dawud (RA) said: This Hadith has been narrated by Saeed bin Abi 'Uruba from Qatadah and Hasan (RA) from the Prophet (ﷺ).

(٣٢٥٤) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اللہ تعالیٰ بالغ عورت کی نماز دوپٹہ کے بغیر قبول نہیں کرتا۔ امام ابوداؤد (رح) کہتے ہیں : اس حدیث کو سعید بن ابی عروبہ نے قتادہ اور حسن (رض) کے واسطے سے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے روایت کیا ہے۔
(3254) Syeda Ayesha (RA) se riwayat hai ke aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Allah Ta'ala baligh aurat ki namaz dopatte ke baghair qubool nahi karta. Imam Abu Dawud (RH) kehte hain: Is hadees ko Saeed bin Abi Arooba ne Qatada aur Hasan (RA) ke waste se Nabi (SAW) se riwayat kiya hai.
Qatadah (RA) reported that Hasan (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty does not accept the prayer of an adult woman without a head covering."

(٣٢٥٥) قتادہ حسن (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اللہ تعالیٰ بالغ عورت کی نماز اوڑھنی کے بغیر قبول نہیں کرتا۔
Qatadah Hasan (RA) se riwayat karte hain ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya : Allah Ta'ala baligh aurat ki namaz orhni ke baghair qabool nahin karta.
I saw Umm Maimunah (may Allah be pleased with her) praying in a large shirt and a sheet, without a waist wrapper.

(٣٢٥٦) عبیداللہ خولانی سے روایت ہے، وہ سیدہ میمونہ (رض) کی گود میں پرورش پاتے تھے اور یتیم تھے، فرماتے ہیں : میں نے سیدہ میمونہ (رض) کو بڑی قمیص اور چادر میں نماز پڑھتے دیکھا، اس میں تہبند نہ تھا۔
(3256) Obaidullah Kholani se riwayat hai, woh Syeda Maimoona (RA) ki god mein parwarish pate thay aur yateem thay, farmate hain : maine Syeda Maimoona (RA) ko bari qamees aur chadar mein namaz parhte dekha, is mein tehband na tha.
(3257) (a) A similar narration has been reported in another Hadith. It is stated that she used to pray wearing a headscarf and a shirt, without a waist-wrapper.
(b) Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated a Hadith that the Mother of the Believers, Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to offer prayer wearing a headscarf and a sheet.

(٣٢٥٧) (ا) ایک دوسری سند سے اسی جیسی روایت منقول ہے۔ فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ اوڑھنی اور قمیص میں تہبند کے بغیر نماز پڑھتی تھیں۔
(ب) امام مالک (رح) نے حدیث بیان کی کہ ام المومنین سیدہ عائشہ (رض) اوڑھنی اور چادر میں نماز ادا کیا کرتی تھیں۔
