Chapter on One Who Said to Make the Tashahhud After the Prostrations of Forgetfulness, Then Salute
باب من قال يتشهد بعد سجدتي السهو ثم يسلم

Narrated Imran bin Husain (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) led us in prayer, but he (ﷺ) forgot. He (ﷺ) then performed two prostrations of forgetfulness, recited the tashahhud, and ended the prayer with salam.

(٣٨٩٦) عمران بن حصین (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں نماز پڑھائی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھول گئے، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سہو کے دو سجدے کیے پھر تشہد پڑھی اور سلام پھیرا۔
3896 Imran bin Husain (RA) se riwayat hai keh Nabi (SAW) ne unhen namaz parhayi to aap (SAW) bhul gaye, phir aap (SAW) ne sahu ke do sajde kiye phir tashahhud parhi aur salam pheira.
(3897) (a) This hadith is also narrated from another chain of narrators. In it, it is stated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led them in prayer, and he (the narrator) forgot (a part of the prayer). Then, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed two prostrations, after which he recited the tashahhud and then gave the salutation.
(b) Muhammad narrates that it has been mentioned to me on the authority of Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) that he mentioned the salutation (in his narration), but did not mention the tashahhud. And in the narration of Hisham, the tashahhud is mentioned before the prostrations.

(٣٨٩٧) (ا) یہ حدیث دوسری سند سے بھی منقول ہے۔ اس میں ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں نماز پڑھائی تو بھول گئے، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دو سجدے کیے، اس کے بعد تشہد پڑھی پھر سلام پھیرا۔
(ب) محمد بیان کرتے ہیں کہ مجھے عمران (رض) کے واسطے سے بتایا گیا کہ انھوں نے سلام کا ذکر کیا ہے۔ تشہد کا ذکر نہیں کیا اور ہشیم کی روایت میں سجدوں سے پہلے تشہد کا ذکر ہے۔
(3897) (a) yeh hadees doosri sand se bhi manqool hai is mein hai ke nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne unhen namaz parhayi to bhool gaye phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne do sajde kiye iske baad tashahhud parhi phir salaam pheira
(b) muhammad bayan karte hain ke mujhe imran (raz) ke waste se bataya gaya ke unhon ne salaam ka zikr kiya hai tashahhud ka zikr nahin kiya aur hashim ki riwayat mein sajdon se pehle tashahhud ka zikr hai
(3898) Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed three rak'ahs of Zuhr or Asr. A man, who was called Kharbaq (may Allah be pleased with him), said: "O Messenger of Allah! You prayed only three rak'ahs." He (the Prophet) said, "Is that so?" The Companions said, "Yes." So he stood up and prayed one rak'ah, then performed the prostration of forgetfulness (sajdah sahw) after the tashahhud and before the tasleem. Then he performed the two prostrations of tasleem.

(٣٨٩٨) عمران بن حصین (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ظہر یا عصر کی نماز تین رکعت پڑھی ایک آدمی جسے خرباق (رض) کہا جاتا تھا، انھوں نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! آپ نے تو تین رکعتیں پڑھی ہیں، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پوچھا : کیا واقعی ایسا ہی ہے ؟ صحابہ ] نے عرض کیا : جی ہاں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کھڑے ہو کر ایک رکعت پڑھائی، پھر سجدہ کیا پھر تشہد پڑھی، سلام پھیرا اور سہو کے دو سجدے کیے اس کے بعد سلام پھیرا۔
3898 Imran bin Husain فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ نے Zuhr یا Asr کی نماز teen rakat parhi ek aadmi jise kharbaq kaha jata tha unhon ne arz kiya aye Allah ke Rasool aap ne to teen rakatein parhi hain aap ne poocha kya waqai aisa hi hai Sahaba ne arz kiya ji haan aap ne kharay ho kar ek rakat parhai phir Sajda kiya phir tashahhud parhi salam pheira aur sahu ke do Sajde kiye us ke baad salam pheira.
(3899) (a) Salmah ibn 'Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) reported: I asked Muhammad ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him), "Is there a Tashahhud in the prostrations of forgetfulness?" He said, "I have not heard it in the narration of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), but reciting the Tashahhud is more beloved to me."
(b) Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) offered Salam but did not recite the Tashahhud.
(c) Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) stated that they did not recite the Tashahhud.
(d) Imam Bayhaqi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The authentic hadiths on this matter indicate that they performed the prostration after the Salam, but they did not recite the Tashahhud for it. And Allah knows best.

(٣٨٩٩) (ا) سلمہ بن علقمہ (رح) فرماتے ہیں : میں نے محمد بن سیرین (رح) سے پوچھا : کیا سہو کے سجدوں میں تشہد ہے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : ابوہریرہ (رض) کی حدیث میں تو میں نے نہیں سنا لیکن تشہد پڑھنا میرے نزدیک محبوب ہے۔
(ب) امام بخاری (رح) فرماتے ہیں : انس (رض) اور حسن (رض) نے سلام پھیرا اور تشہد نہیں پڑھی۔
(ج) قتادہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ تشہد نہ پڑھے۔
(د) امام بیہقی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : اس بارے میں صحیح احادیث اس بات پر دلالت کرتی ہیں کہ انھوں نے سلام کے بعد بھی سجدے کیے لیکن ان کے لیے تشہد نہیں پڑھی۔ وباللہ التوفیق
(3899) (a) Salma bin Akwa (RA) farmate hain : maine Muhammad bin Sireen (RA) se poocha : kya sahu ke sajdon mein tashhud hai? Unhon ne kaha : Abu Hurairah (RA) ki hadees mein to maine nahi suna lekin tashhud padhna mere nazdeek mahboob hai.
(b) Imam Bukhari (RA) farmate hain : Anas (RA) aur Hasan (RA) ne salaam pheira aur tashhud nahi padhi.
(c) Qatadah (RA) bayan karte hain ki tashhud na padhe.
(d) Imam Bayhaqi (RA) farmate hain : is bare mein sahih ahadees is baat par dalalat karti hain ki unhon ne salaam ke baad bhi sajde kiye lekin un ke liye tashhud nahi padhi. Wallahu al tawfeeq.
Mughira ibn Shu'ba narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited the tashahhud after raising his head from the prostration of forgetfulness.

(٣٩٠٠) مغیرہ بن شعبہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سہو کے سجدوں سے سر اٹھانے کے بعد تشہد پڑھی ہے۔
Mgeerh bin Shobah bayan karte hain keh nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne sahu ke sajdon se sar uthane ke bad tashahhud parhi hai
Narrated Abdullah bin Mas'ud (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When you are praying and you are doubtful whether you have prayed three or four (Rak'ahs), and your predominant thought is that you have prayed four, then perform the tashahhud, then while sitting, before making the Salam, perform two prostrations (of Sahw). Then perform the tashahhud in the same manner and then make the Salam."

(٣٩٠١) حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تو نماز پڑھ رہا ہو اور تجھے تین، چار (رکعتوں) میں شک پڑجائے اور تیرا غالب گمان چار کا ہو تو تشہد پڑھ، پھر سلام پھیرنے سے پہلے بیٹھنے کی حالت میں ہی دو سجدے کرے، پھر اسی طرح تشہد پڑھ اس کے بعد سلام پھیر۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasool Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Jab tu namaz parh raha ho aur tujhe teen, chaar (rakato) mein shak par jaye aur tera galib guman chaar ka ho to tashahud parh, phir salam phirne se pehle bethne ki halat mein hi do sajde kare, phir isi tarah tashahud parh uske baad salam phir.
