Chapter on Those Who Permit Praying Four Rak'ahs Without Saluting Except at the End
باب من أجاز أن يصلي أربعا لا يسلم إلا في آخرهن

Abu Ayyub al-Ansari reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray four rak'ahs after the setting of the sun. I (Abu Ayyub) said: Messenger of Allah, what is this prayer? He (ﷺ) said: The gates of heaven are opened when the sun sets and they are not closed until the afternoon prayer, so I like that my good deeds should ascend while the gates of heaven are open. I said: Messenger of Allah, do you recite (the Qur'an) during them (these prayers)? He (ﷺ) said: Yes, I recite (the Qur'an) in all of them. The narrator said: Is the separation between them made by means of taslim (salutation)? He (ﷺ) said: No, the taslim is only in the last rak'ah.

(٤٥٧٩) ابو ایوب انصاری فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سورج کے ڈھلنے کے بعد چار رکعات پڑھتے تھے۔ ابو ایوب کہتے ہیں : اے اللہ کے رسول ! یہ نماز کیسی ہے ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : آسمان کے دروازے کھول دیے جاتے ہیں۔ جب سورج ڈھلتا ہے اور ظہر کی نماز تک آسمان کے دروازے بند نہیں کیے جاتے۔ میں پسند کرتا ہوں کہ آسمان کے دروازے بند ہونے سے پہلے میرے نیک اعمال اوپر چڑھائے جائیں۔ میں نے پوچھا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ان میں قرأت کرتے ہیں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ہاں ان تمام میں قرأت کرتا ہوں۔ راوی کہتے ہیں : کیا ان کے درمیان سلام کے ذریعہ فاصلہ کیا جاتا ہے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : نہیں صرف آخری رکعت میں سلام ہوتا ہے۔
(4579) Abu Ayyub Ansari farmate hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) sooraj ke dhulne ke baad chaar rakat parhte the. Abu Ayyub kahte hain : Aye Allah ke Rasul! Yeh namaz kesi hai? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Aasman ke darwaze khol diye jate hain. Jab sooraj dhulta hai aur zohar ki namaz tak aasman ke darwaze band nahin kiye jate. Main pasand karta hun ki aasman ke darwaze band hone se pehle mere nek amal upar chadhaye jayen. Maine poocha : Aye Allah ke Rasul! Kya aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) in mein qirat karte hain? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Haan in tamam mein qirat karta hun. Rawi kahte hain : Kya in ke darmiyan salaam ke zariye fasla kiya jata hai. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Nahin sirf aakhri rakat mein salaam hota hai.
Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to regularly pray four rak'ahs in my house after sunset. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is this prayer that you are praying?" Then he mentioned the hadith similarly.

(٤٥٨٠) ابو ایوب انصاری (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سورج ڈھلنے کے بعد میرے گھر چار رکعات ہمیشہ پڑھا کرتے تھے۔ میں نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! یہ کیسی نماز ہے جو آپ پڑھتے ہیں ؟ پھر اسی طرح حدیث ذکر کی۔
Abu Ayyub Ansari (RA) farmate hain ki Nabi (SAW) sooraj dhalne ke baad mere ghar chaar rakat hamesha parha karte the. Maine kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Ye kaisi namaz hai jo aap parhte hain? Phir isi tarah hadees zikar ki.
Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray four rak'ahs before Zuhr. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked: "Do you always pray them?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When the sun declines, the gates of heaven are opened, and I like that my deeds ascend before the gates of heaven are closed."
(b) In the hadith of Thabit, it is narrated that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted five rak'ahs, without tashahhud or salam between them, except in the last rak'ah, and this is regarding Witr. And he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted nine rak'ahs, sitting only in the last rak'ah, and the salam is only in the ninth rak'ah. This is also regarding Witr.

(٤٥٨١) ابو ایوب (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ظہر سے قبل چار رکعات پڑھا کرتے تھے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے کہا گیا : کیا آپ ان پر ہمیشگی کرتے ہیں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب سورج ڈھل جاتا ہے تو آسمان کے دروازے کھول دیے جاتے ہیں اور میں پسند کرتا ہوں کہ میرے اعمال آسمان کے دروازے بند ہونے سے پہلے اوپر چلے جائیں۔
(ب) ثابت کی حدیث میں ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پانچ رکعات کی اجازت دی ہے، نہ ان کے درمیان تشہد ہوگا اور نہ ہی سلام، صرف آخری رکعت میں ہے کہ یہ وتر کے متعلق ہے اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نو رکعات کی اجازت دی ہے، صرف آخری رکعت میں بیٹھا جائے اور سلام صرف نویں رکعت میں ہوگا۔ یہ بھی وتر کے بارے میں ہے۔
(4581) Abu Ayyub (RA) farmate hain ki Nabi (SAW) Zuhr se pehle chaar rakat parha karte thay. Aap (SAW) se kaha gaya: kya aap in par hameshagi karte hain? Aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Jab Suraj dhal jata hai to asman ke darwaze khol diye jate hain aur main pasand karta hun ki mere amal asman ke darwaze band hone se pehle upar chale jayen.
(b) Sabit ki hadees mein hai ki aap (SAW) ne panch rakat ki ijazat di hai, na in ke darmiyan tashahud hoga aur na hi salam, sirf aakhri rakat mein hai ki yeh witr ke mutalliq hai aur aap (SAW) ne nau rakat ki ijazat di hai, sirf aakhri rakat mein betha jaye aur salam sirf naveen rakat mein hoga. Yeh bhi witr ke bare mein hai.
