It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Actions are according to intentions, and everyone will get what was intended. So whoever migrates for the sake of Allah and His Messenger, then his migration is for Allah and His Messenger. And whoever migrates for worldly gain or to marry a woman, then his migration is for that which he migrated for.”

(١٢٩٠٧) حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اعمال کا دارومدار نیت پر ہے۔ بیشک آدمی کے لیے وہی ہے جو اس نے نیت کی۔ جس کی ہجرت اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لیے ہوئی پس اس کی ہجرت اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لیے ہے اور جس کی ہجرت کی نیت دنیا ہوئی کہ وہ اسے پالے گا یا کسی عورت کی نیت سے ہجرت کی کہ اس سے شادی کرلے گا، پس اس کی ہجرت اس کے لیے ہے، جس نیت سے اس نے ہجرت کی۔
Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Amal ka daromadar niyat par hai. Beshak aadmi ke liye wohi hai jo usne niyat ki. Jis ki hijrat Allah aur uske Rasul (SAW) ke liye hui pas uski hijrat Allah aur uske Rasul (SAW) ke liye hai aur jis ki hijrat ki niyat duniya hui ki woh use pa lega ya kisi aurat ki niyat se hijrat ki ki us se shadi kar lega, pas uski hijrat uske liye hai, jis niyat se usne hijrat ki.
Narrated `Ubada ibn Samit: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: He who fights that he may be seen (i.e., to show off) and nothing drives him to fight but a desire to be mentioned, he will get nothing but what he has intended.

(١٢٩٠٨) عبادہ بن صامت سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو جہاد کرے اور اس کی نیت جہاد کی نہ ہو بلکہ غنیمت کے مال کی ہو تو اس کی نیت جو ہوگی اسے وہی حاصل ہوگا۔
Ibadat bin Samit se riwayat hai ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Jo jihad kare aur uski niyat jihad ki na ho balke ghanimat ke maal ki ho to uski niyat jo hogi use wohi hasil hoga.
Ubaidullah bin Sulaiman narrated that one of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When we conquered Khaibar, they took from their spoils, goods and prisoners, etc. So people started selling their spoils. A man came and said: O Messenger of Allah! Today I have gained so much profit that no one in this valley would have gained more than me. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Woe to you, what profit have you gained? He said: I kept selling and buying until I made a profit of three hundred ounces. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you about a man who has gained a better profit? He said: O Messenger of Allah! What is that? You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Two rak'ahs after the prayer.

(١٢٩٠٩) عبیداللہ بن سلیمان فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے اصحاب میں سے کسی نے بیان کیا کہ جب ہم خیبر فتح کیا تو انھوں نے اپنی غنیمتیں، سامان اور قیدیوں وغیرہ سے لیں۔ پس لوگ اپنی غنیمتیں بیچنے لگے۔ ایک آدمی آیا، اس نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! آج میں نے اتنا نفع پایا ہے کہ اس وادی میں مجھ سے زیادہ کسی نے نہ پایا ہوگا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تیرے لیے ہلاکت ہو، تو نے کیا نفع پایا ہے ؟ اس نے کہا : میں ہمیشہ بیچتا اور خریدتا رہا حتیٰ کہ تین سو اوقیہ نفع حاصل کیا۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : میں تجھے اس آدمی کے بارے میں بتاتا ہوں جس نے بہتر نفع پایا۔ اس نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! وہ کیا ہے ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : نماز کے بعد دو رکعتیں۔
12909 Ubaidullah bin Sulaiman farmate hain ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke ashaab mein se kisi ne bayan kiya ki jab hum Khaibar fatah kiya to unhon ne apni ghanimaten, saman aur qaidion waghaira se lein. Pas log apni ghanimaten bechne lage. Ek aadmi aaya, usne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Aaj main ne itna nafa paya hai ki is waadi mein mujh se zyada kisi ne na paya hoga. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tere liye halaakat ho, tu ne kya nafa paya hai? Usne kaha: Main hamesha bechta aur khareedta raha hatta ki teen sau auqiya nafa hasil kiya. Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Main tujhe us aadmi ke bare mein batata hun jis ne behtar nafa paya. Usne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Woh kya hai? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Namaz ke baad do rakat.
Abu Ja'fa Salmi narrated: 'Umar bin Khattab delivered a sermon and said: "As for the others, about whom you say that they were killed in your battles, or they died as martyrs - perhaps a person may have wished that the two flanks of his riding animal be filled with gold or silver; he may have desired that from this world or trade. So, do not say that about them. Rather, say what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Whoever is killed in the way of Allah, or dies, will enter Paradise.'"

(١٢٩١٠) ابوجعفاء سلمی فرماتے ہیں : حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رض) نے خطبہ دیاتو کہا : دوسرے جن کو کہتے ہو کہ وہ قتل کیے گئے تمہارے غزوؤں میں یا وہ فوت ہوئے فلاں شہید کیا گیا شاید کہ اس نے یہ اقرار کیا ہو کہ اس کی سواری کے دو پلان سونے یا چاندی سے بھر جائیں، وہ اس سے دنیا چاہتا ہو یا تجارت کہا پس تم ان کو یہ نہ کہو بلکہ تم کہو جیسا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو اللہ کے راستے میں شہید کیا گیا یا وہ فوت ہوگیا، وہ جنت میں جائے گا۔
(12910) Abujafa Salmi farmate hain : Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (RA) ne khutba diya to kaha : dusre jin ko kahte ho ke woh qatl kiye gaye tumhare gazwon mein ya woh faut huye falan shaheed kiya gaya shayad ke usne ye iqrar kiya ho ke uski sawari ke do plan sone ya chandi se bhar jayen, woh us se duniya chahta ho ya tijarat kaha pas tum unko ye na kaho balke tum kaho jaisa ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : jo Allah ke raaste mein shaheed kiya gaya ya woh faut hogaya, woh jannat mein jayega.
(12911) Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You say about those whom you see leaving (for battle) that the man has gone out. Then you say: So-and-so was martyred, and perhaps he went out for his riding animal, trade goods, dinars, and dirhams. So do not say this, but rather say as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever is killed in the way of Allah, then he is in Paradise.
(35) Chapter: The Slave and the Woman will be given a reward, but they will not receive a share.

(١٢٩١١) حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رض) نے کہا : جن کو تم کہتے ہو کہ آدمی نکلا وہ لڑا ۔ پس تم کہتے ہو : فلاں شہید کردیا گیا اور شاید کہ وہ نکلا ہوتا کہ اپنی سواری تجارت کے دنانیر اور درہموں سے ۔ پس تم یہ نہ کہو بلکہ کہو جیسے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کہا : جو اللہ کے راستے میں قتل کردیا گیا۔ پس وہ جنتی ہے۔
(٣٥) باب الْمَمْلُوکِ وَالْمَرْأَۃِ یُرْضَخُ لَہُمَا وَلاَ یُسْہَمُ
غلام اور عورتوں کو انعام ملے گا ان کے لیے حصہ مقرر نہیں ہے
Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (RA) ne kaha: Jin ko tum kehte ho ke aadmi nikla woh lara, pas tum kehte ho: Falan shaheed kar diya gaya aur shayad ke woh nikla hota ke apni sawari tijarat ke dinar aur dirham se, pas tum ye na kaho balke kaho jaise Rasul Allah (SAW) ne kaha: Jo Allah ke raste mein qatal kar diya gaya pas woh jannati hai.
Baab al-Mamlook wal-Mar'ati Yurzakhu lahuma wala Yushamu
Ghulam aur auraton ko inaam milega in ke liye hissa muqarrar nahin hai.
