Abu Firas reported: Umar (ra) said to us in a sermon, “O people, I do not send officials to you so that they may shut your eyes and take your wealth. I send them to you so that they may teach you your religion and your Sunnah. Whoever among them does anything else, inform me about his case and I will take revenge from him on your behalf. Beware! Do not beat the Muslims and thus humiliate them. Do not prevent them from goodness again and again, pushing them towards Kufr. Do not prevent the people in their homes from going out for Jihad. If you do so, they will be afflicted with Fitnah. Do not waste the Mujahideen by sending them on difficult paths.”

(١٧٨٤٨) حضرت ابو فراس فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر (رض) نے خطبہ میں ہمیں کہا : اے لوگو ! میں عمال کو تمہارے پاس اس لیے نہیں بھیجتا کہ وہ تمہارے چشموں کو بند کردیں اور تمہارے مال کو لے لیں۔ ان کو اس لیے بھیجتا ہوں کہ وہ تم کو دین سکھائیں اور سنت سکھائیں۔ اگر ان میں سے کوئی اس کے علاوہ کام کرے تو اس کا معاملہ مجھ تک پہنچاؤ۔ میں اس سے بدلہ لوں گا۔ خبردار ! مسلمانوں کو مار کر ان کو ذلیل نہ کرو۔ مسلمانوں کو بار بار ٹوک کر اور منع کر کے کفر پر مجبور نہ کریں اور گھروں کو واپسی سے مجاہدین کو نہ روکیں۔ اگر روکو گے تو وہ فتنہ میں مبتلا ہوجائیں گے اور مجاہدین کو مشکل راستوں پر ڈال کر ضائع نہ کرو۔
(17848) Hazrat Abu Faras farmate hain keh Hazrat Umar (RA) ne khutba mein hamein kaha: Aye Logo! mein ummal ko tumhare pass is liye nahin bhejta keh woh tumhare cheshmon ko band kar den aur tumhare maal ko le len. Un ko is liye bhejta hun keh woh tum ko deen sikhayen aur sunnat sikhayen. Agar un mein se koi is ke ilawa kaam kare to us ka mamla mujh tak pahunchao. Mein us se badla lun ga. Khabar dar! Musalmanon ko maar kar un ko zaleel na karo. Musalmanon ko baar baar tok kar aur mana kar ke kufr par majboor na karen aur gharon ko wapsi se mujahidin ko na roken. Agar rokoge to woh fitna mein mubtala ho jayen ge aur mujahidin ko mushkil raston par daal kar zaya na karo.
Abdullah bin Ka'b bin Malik Ansari reported that the army of Ansar was with their commander in Persia, and it was the custom of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to recall the army after a year. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) forgot about them. When the appointed time passed, the people of the frontier returned. The commander treated them harshly and threatened them, and these people were the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). They said to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): You forgot about us, and you abandoned the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to bring the army back gradually.

(١٧٨٤٩) عبداللہ بن کعب بن مالک انصاری فرماتے ہیں کہ انصار کا لشکر اپنے امیر کے ساتھ فارس میں تھا اور حضرت عمر (رض) کا معمول تھا کہ ایک سال بعد لشکر کو واپس بلاتے تھے۔ حضرت عمر (رض) ان سے غافل ہوگئے۔ جب مقررہ وقت گزر گیا تو سرحد والے لوگ لوٹ آئے۔ امیر نے ان پر سختی کی اور ڈرایا اور یہ لوگ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے صحابی تھے۔ انھوں نے عمر (رض) سے کہا : آپ ہم سے غافل ہوگئے اور آپ نے ہمارے بارے میں نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے حکم کو ترک کردیا کہ لشکر کو تھوڑا تھوڑا کر کے واپس لایا جائے۔
Abdallah bin Kab bin Malik Ansari farmate hain ki Ansar ka lashkar apne ameer ke sath Faris mein tha aur Hazrat Umar (Razi Allah Anhu) ka mamul tha ki ek sal bad lashkar ko wapas bulate thay. Hazrat Umar (Razi Allah Anhu) un se ghafil hogay. Jab muqarrara waqt guzar gaya to sarhad wale log laut aye. Ameer ne un per sakhti ki aur daraya aur ye log Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sahabi thay. Unhon ne Umar (Razi Allah Anhu) se kaha: Aap hum se ghafil hogay aur aap ne hamare bare mein Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke hukm ko tark kar diya ki lashkar ko thora thora kar ke wapas laya jaye.
Abdullah bin Umar (R.A.) narrates that Umar (R.A.) went out at night and heard a woman reciting poetry: “The night has grown long and its surroundings have darkened. The sleep of my eyes has been taken away by the fact that my beloved is not with me. By Allah! If it were not for Allah, I would take care of him and this bed would move."
Umar (R.A.) asked his daughter, Hafsa (R.A.): "How long can a woman endure being away from her husband?" She replied: "Six months, or four months." Umar (R.A.) said: "I will not keep an army away from their families for longer than that."

(١٧٨٥٠) حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر (رض) رات کو نکلے، انھوں نے ایک عورت کی آواز سنی۔ وہ شعر پڑھ رہی تھی :” رات لمبی ہوگئی اور اس کے اطراف سیاہ ہوگئے ہیں۔ میری راتوں کی نیند اڑا دی ہے اس بات نے کہ میرا حبیب (محبوب) نہیں ہے۔ اللہ کی قسم ! اگر اللہ نہ ہوتا تو میں اس کی دیکھ بھال کرتی۔ اور اس چارپائی کے پہلو حرکت کرتے۔ “
حضرت عمر (رض) نے اپنی بیٹی حفصہ (رض) سے پوچھا : عورت زیادہ سے زیادہ اپنے خاوند کے بغیر کتنا صبر کرسکتی ہے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : چھ ماہ یا چار ماہ تو حضرت عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : میں کسی لشکر کو اس سے زیادہ نہیں روکوں گا۔
(17850) Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) farmate hain ki Hazrat Umar (RA) raat ko nikle, unhon ne ek aurat ki aawaz suni. Wo sher parh rahi thi: “Raat lambi ho gayi aur iske اطراف siyah ho gaye hain. Meri raaton ki neend ura di hai is baat ne ki mera habib (mahboob) nahi hai. Allah ki qasam! Agar Allah na hota to main iski dekh bhal karti. Aur is charpai ke pehlu harkat karte.”
Hazrat Umar (RA) ne apni beti Hafsa (RA) se poocha: Aurat ziada se ziada apne khawand ke baghair kitna sabar kar sakti hai? Unhon ne kaha: Chhe mah ya chaar mah to Hazrat Umar (RA) ne farmaya: Main kisi lashkar ko is se ziada nahi rokun ga.
