Chapter on the permissibility of cutting veins and cauterization in necessity
باب ما جاء في إباحة قطع العروق والكي عند الحاجة
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 19548
(19548) Jabir states that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a physician to Ubayy bin Ka'b. He performed cupping on him after making an incision.

(١٩٥٤٨) حضرت جابر فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ابی بن کعب کے پاس طبیب کو بھیجا۔ اس نے رگ کاٹ کر داغ دیا۔
(19548) Hazrat Jabir farmate hain keh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Ubbi bin Ka'ab ke paas tabib ko bheja. Usne rag kaat kar daagh diya.
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) fell ill, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a physician to him, who cauterized a vein of his.

(١٩٥٤٩) حضرت جابر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ابی بن کعب بیمار ہوگئے تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کے پاس طبیب کو بھیجا تو اس نے ان کی رگ کو داغ دیا۔
(19549) Hazrat Jabir (RA) farmate hain keh Ubayy bin Ka'b bimar hogaye to Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne un ke pass tabib ko bheja to us ne un ki rag ko daagh diya.
Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was hit by an arrow in a vein, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cauterized it with his hand. The wound swelled up, so he cauterized it again.

(١٩٥٥٠) حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ سعد بن معاذ کو رگ میں تیر لگ گیا تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے ہاتھ سے داغا۔ زخم سوج گیا تو پھر دوبارہ داغ دیا۔
(19550) Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) farmate hain ke Saad bin Muaz ko rag mein teer lag gaya to Nabi (SAW) ne apne hath se daagha. Zakhm sooj gaya to phir dobara daagh diya.
Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cauterized the wound of Asad bin Zurara.

(١٩٥٥١) حضرت انس بن مالک (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اسعد بن زرارہ کے زخم کو داغ دیا۔
(19551) Hazrat Anas bin Malik (RA) farmate hain ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne Asad bin Zurarah ke zakhm ko daagh diya.
Abdullah bin Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a group of people came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "One of our companions is sick. Should we cauterize him?" The narrator said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent for a while. Then he said: "If you wish, cauterize him with iron or stone." (b) In the narration of Abu Isaac, it is stated: "Cauterize him with stone."

(١٩٥٥٢) حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک گروہ نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے آکر کہا : ہمارا ایک ساتھی بیمار ہے کیا ہم اس کو داغ دیں ؟ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تھوڑی دیر خاموش رہے ۔ پھر فرمایا : اگر چاہو لوہے یا پتھر سے داغ دو ۔ (ب) ابو اسحاق کی روایت میں ہے کہ پتھر سے داغ دو ۔
(19552) Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (RA) farmate hain keh aik goroh ne Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se aakar kaha: hamara aik sathi bimar hai kya hum usko dagh den? Rawi kehte hain keh Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) thori dair khamosh rahe. Phir farmaya: agar chaho lohe ya pathar se dagh do. (b) Abu Ishaq ki riwayat mein hai keh pathar se dagh do.
Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that an Ansari fell very ill. So, he asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about cauterization. He (the Prophet) remained silent. Then, he said: "If you wish, heat a stone and cauterize (the affected part)."

(١٩٥٥٣) حضرت عبداللہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک انصاری کی بیماری بڑھ گئی تو انھوں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے داغنے کے متعلق پوچھا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) خاموش رہے پھر فرمایا : اگر تم چاہو تو پتھر گرم کر کے داغ دو ۔
(19553) Hazrat Abdullah (rz) farmate hain ke ek ansari ki bimari barh gai to unhon ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se daghne ke mutalliq poocha. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) khamosh rahe phir farmaya: Agar tum chaho to pathar garam kar ke dagh do.
(19554) Anas bin Malik narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave permission to the Ansar to treat (someone) by reciting incantations for poisonous stings. Similarly, he allowed incantations for the evil eye, etc. Anas states: During the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), branding (cauterization) was performed for pleurisy, and when I was branded, Abu Talha, Anas bin Nadr, Zaid bin Thabit, (and) Abu Talha were present.
(b) Abu Qilaba narrated from Anas that Abu Talha and Anas bin Nadr performed the branding.

(١٩٥٥٤) حضرت انس بن مالک فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انصار کو زہریلے جانور کے ڈسنے کی وجہ سے دم کرنے کی اجازت دی۔ اسی طرح نظر وغیرہ کے دم کی بھی اجازت دی۔ حضرت انس فرماتے ہیں : ذات الجنب کسی وجہ سے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی زندگی میں داغا جاتا تھا اور میرے دغوانے کے وقت ابو طلحہ، انس بن نضر، زید بن ثابت، ابو طلحہ موجود تھے۔
(ب) ابو قلابہ حضرت انس سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ابو طلحہ اور انس بن نضر نے داغ دیا تھا۔
(19554) Hazrat Anas bin Malik farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Ansar ko zehrele janwar ke dasne ki waja se dum karne ki ijazat di. Isi tarah nazar waghaira ke dum ki bhi ijazat di. Hazrat Anas farmate hain : Zat al-janb kisi waja se Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki zindagi mein daagha jata tha aur mere daghwane ke waqt Abu Talha, Anas bin Nadr, Zaid bin Sabit, Abu Talha mojood thay.
(b) Abu Qilaba Hazrat Anas se bayan karte hain ke Abu Talha aur Anas bin Nadr ne daagh diya tha.
Abu Qilaba reported on the authority of Anas that I was branded due to pleurisy, and Anas bin Nadr and Abu Talha bore witness to my branding.

(١٩٥٥٥) ابو قلابہ حضرت انس سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ ذات الجنب کی بیماری سے مجھے داغ دیا گیا تو انس بن نضر اور ابو طلحہ نے میرے دغوانے کی گواہی دی۔
(19555) abu qulabah hazrat anas se naql farmate hain ki zat ul junb ki bimari se mujhe daagh diya gaya to anas bin nadar aur abu talha ne mere daghwane ki gawahi di.
Nafi' reported that Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, performed branding (cauterization) for facial paralysis and used ruqyah for a scorpion sting.

(١٩٥٥٦) نافع حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ اس نے لقوہ کی بیماری کی وجہ سے داغا اور بچھو کے ڈسنے کی وجہ سے دم کیا۔
(19556) Nafe Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) se naql farmate hain ke usne laqwa ki bimari ki waja se daagha aur bichhu ke dasne ki waja se dam kya.
