Chapter: Permission to Cry Without Wailing or Lamentation

باب الرخصة في البكاء بلا ندب ولا نياحة

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 7149

Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) grandson was brought to him (the Prophet) while his breath was disturbed, as if it was stuck in a water skin. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "To Allah belongs what He takes and what He gives, and everyone is moving towards their appointed time." Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "And you (O Messenger of Allah) cried." Sa'd bin 'Ubada (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Are you crying when you are the one who forbade crying?" He (the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "This is mercy that Allah has placed in the hearts of His servants, and Allah is merciful only to those of His servants who are merciful."

(٧١٤٩) اسامہ بن زید (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آپ کا نواسہ لایا گیا اور اس کی سانس اٹک رہی تھی، جیسے مشکیزے میں ہو تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اللہ ہی کا ہے جو اس نے لے لیا اور جو اس نے دے دیا اور ہر ایک اپنے وقت مقررہ کی طرف جا رہا ہے۔ اسامہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) رو دیے تو سعد بن عبادہ (رض) نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا آپ روتے ہیں اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہی تو رونے سے منع کیا ہے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : بیشک یہ تو رحمت ہے جسے اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے بندوں کے دلوں میں رکھا ہے اور اللہ بھی اپنے رحم کرنے والے بندوں پر ہی رحم کرتے ہیں۔

7149 Osama bin Zaid (RA) farmate hain ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas aap ka nawasa laya gaya aur uski saans atak rahi thi jaise mashkize mein ho to Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya Allah hi ka hai jo usne le liya aur jo usne de diya aur har ek apne waqt muqarrara ki taraf ja raha hai Osama (RA) farmate hain aur aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ro diye to Saad bin Ubadah (RA) ne aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se kaha aye Allah ke Rasul kya aap rote hain aur aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne hi to rone se mana kiya hai to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya beshak yeh to rehmat hai jise Allah Ta'ala ne apne bandon ke dilon mein rakha hai aur Allah bhi apne reham karne wale bandon par hi reham karte hain.

٧١٤٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ السُّكَّرِيُّ، بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ،رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ:أَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِابْنَةِ ابْنَتِهِ وَنَفْسُهَا تَقَعْقَعُ كَأَنَّهَا فِي شَنٍّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" لِلَّهِ مَا أَخَذَ وَلِلَّهِ مَا أَعْطَى وَكُلٌّ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى "،قَالَ:وَبَكَى، فَقَالَ لَهُ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَتَبْكِي وَقَدْ نَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْبُكَاءِ؟فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّمَا هِيَ رَحْمَةٌ جَعَلَهَا اللهُ فِي قُلُوبِ عِبَادِهِ وَإِنَّمَا يَرْحَمُ اللهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الرُّحَمَاءَ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ مِنْ أَوْجُهٍ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ

Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A child was born to me one night, and I named him Ibrahim. Then I returned him to Umm Sayf, who was a wet nurse in Medina and whose husband was called Abu Sayf. Then you (the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to visit him, and I went with you. We went to Abu Sayf, and he was burning a furnace, and his house was filled with smoke." He said: "I started to walk quickly in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and I came to Abu Sayf and said: 'Stop! Stop! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has come.' Then you (the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came, and you asked for the child and embraced him. And you said: 'One should say Masha'Allah.' " Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I saw him in front of you, and he was feeling constricted, so tears came out of the eyes of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and you (the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'The eye sheds tears, and the heart grieves, and we do not say anything but that which pleases our Lord. By Allah! O Ibrahim, we are deeply saddened by your loss."

(٧١٥٠) انس بن مالک (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ایک رات میرے ہاں بچہ پیدا ہوا، میں نے اس کا نام ابراہیم رکھا، پھر اسے ام سیف کی طرف لوٹا دیا جو مدینہ میں دودھ پلانے والی تھی اور اسے ابو سیف کہا جاتا تھا، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس کی زیارت کے لیے چلے اور میں بھی آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ چلا تو ہم ابو سیف کے پاس چلے گئے اور وہ بھٹی جلا رہا تھا اور اس کا گھر دھویں سے بھرا ہواتھا فرماتے ہیں : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے آگے تیز تیز چلنا شروع کردیا اور میں ابو سیف کے پاس آیا اور کہا : رک جا رک جا، رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) آئے ہیں ، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) آئے تو آپ نے بچے کو منگوایا اور اپنے ساتھ چمٹالیا اور فرمایا : چاہیے کہ تو ماشاء اللہ کہے۔ انس (رض) فرماتے ہیں : میں نے اسے آپ کے سامنے دیکھا اور وہ تنگی محسوس کررہا تھا تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی آنکھوں سے آنسو نکل آئے اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : آنکھ بہتی ہے ، دل غم گین ہوتا ہے اور ہم نہیں کہتے مگر وہ بات جو ہمارے رب کو خوش کرے۔ اللہ کی قسم ! اے ابراہیم ہم تیری وجہ سے نہایت غمزدہ ہیں۔

7150 Anas bin Malik (RA) farmate hain ke Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Aik raat mere han bachcha paida hua, maine us ka naam Ibrahim rakha, phir use Umm Saif ki taraf lota diya jo Madina mein doodh pilane wali thi aur use Abu Saif kaha jata tha, phir aap (SAW) us ki ziyarat ke liye chale aur main bhi aap (SAW) ke sath chala to hum Abu Saif ke paas chale gaye aur wo bhatti jala raha tha aur us ka ghar dhuen se bhara hua tha farmate hain: Maine Rasul Allah (SAW) ke aage tez tez chalna shuru kar diya aur main Abu Saif ke paas aaya aur kaha: Ruk ja ruk ja, Rasul Allah (SAW) aaye hain, phir aap (SAW) aaye to aap ne bachche ko mangwaya aur apne sath chimtaliya aur farmaya: Chahiye ke tu Masha Allah kahe. Anas (RA) farmate hain: Maine use aap ke samne dekha aur wo tangi mehsoos kar raha tha to Rasul Allah (SAW) ki aankhon se aansu nikal aaye aur aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Aankh behti hai, dil ghamgeen hota hai aur hum nahin kehte magar wo baat jo humare Rab ko khush kare. Allah ki qasam! Aye Ibrahim hum teri wajah se nihayat ghamzada hain.

٧١٥٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي،وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالُوا:ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ،قَالَ:قَالَ ⦗١١٥⦘ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" وُلِدَ لِيَ اللَّيْلَةَ غُلَامٌ فَسَمَّيْتُهُ بِأَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ "،ثُمَّ دَفَعَهُ إِلَى أُمِّ سَيْفٍ امْرَأَةِ قَيْنٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو سَيْفٍ فَانْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَزُورُهُ وَانْطَلَقْتُ مَعَهُ فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى أَبِي سَيْفٍ وَهُوَ يَنْفُخُ بِكِيرِهِ قَالَ:وَالْبَيْتُ مُمْتَلِئٌ دُخَانًا قَالَ فَأَسْرَعْتُ الْمَشْيَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا سَيْفٍ فَقُلْتُ: جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمْسِكْ أَمْسِكْ، فَأَمْسَكَ، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَعَا بِالصَّبِيِّ فَضَمَّهُ إِلَيْهِ وَقَالَ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَكِيدُ بِنَفْسِهِ فَدَمَعَتْ عَيْنَا رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" تَدْمَعُ الْعَيْنُ وَيَحْزَنُ الْقَلْبُ وَلَا نَقُولُ إِلَّا مَا يُرْضِي رَبَّنَا، وَاللهِ يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ إِنَّا بِكَ لَمَحْزُونُونَ "رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ هُدْبَةَ وَشَيْبَانُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ،وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ:وَرَوَاهُ مُوسَى عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ

Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to the palm groves with Abdur Rahman bin Auf (may Allah be pleased with him), while his (the Prophet's) son Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him) was passing away. He (the Prophet) took him (Ibrahim) in his lap, and his (the Prophet's) eyes began to shed tears. Abdur Rahman bin Auf said, "You prohibit the people from (crying), and you yourself are weeping!" He (the Prophet) said, "I did not prohibit weeping, but I prohibited wailing (an-Niha) and screaming like that of the foolish people, the wicked ones who raise their voices with singing and amusement, and with the tunes of Shaytan; and (I prohibited) the voice with which one scratches the face, tears the clothes, and (does other such things) at the time of calamity. This (weeping) is mercy, and whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy. O Ibrahim! If this were not the truth, if the promise were not true, and if every newcomer were not to meet those who have passed away before him, we would have grieved for you with a grief much greater than the grief we have for your parting. Our eyes are shedding tears, and our hearts are grieved, but we will not say anything that would displease our Lord."

(٧١٥١) جابر بن عبداللہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) عبد الرحمن بن عوف (رض) کے ساتھ کھجوروں کی طرف تشریف لے گئے، جب کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا بیٹا ابراہیم اپنی جان اللہ کے سپرد کررہا تھا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اسے اپنی گود میں رکھا اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی آنکھیں بہنا شروع ہوگئیں تو عبد الرحمن بن عوف نے کہا : آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تو لوگوں کو منع کرتے ہیں اور خود رو رہے ہیں ! تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : میں نے رونے سے منع نہیں کیا بلکہ میں تو نوحہ کرنے سے منع کرتا ہوں اور احمقوں کی طرح آواز نکالنے سے جو فاجر لوگ آواز نکالتے ہیں نغمے اور لہو ولعب کے ساتھ اور شیطان کی دھن کے ساتھ اور مصیبت کے وقت اس آواز سے جس کے ساتھ چہرہ چھیلنا بھی ہو ، گریبان چاک کرنا بھی ہو اور یہ رنا تو رحم ہے اور جو رحم نہیں کرتا اس پر رحم نہیں کیا جاتا۔ اے ابراہیم اگر یہ حق نہ ہوتا اور سجا وعدہ نہ ہوتا اور یہ کہ ہر بعد میں آنے والاپہلوں سے ملنے والانہ ہوتا ہم اس قدر غم کرتے جو اس سے کہیں زیادہ ہوتاجو ہم تیری جدائی سے غم زدہ ہیں آنکھیں رو رہی ہیں اور دل غم گین ہے اور ہم وہ بات نہیں کریں گے جو ہمارے رب کو ناراض کرے۔

7151 Jaber bin Abdullah (RA) farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Abdur Rahman bin Auf (RA) ke sath khajuron ki taraf tashreef le gaye, jab ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka beta Ibrahim apni jaan Allah ke supurd kar raha tha to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne use apni god mein rakha aur aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki aankhen behna shuru ho gayin to Abdur Rahman bin Auf ne kaha: Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) to logon ko mana karte hain aur khud ro rahe hain! To aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Maine rone se mana nahin kiya balke main to nouha karne se mana karta hun aur ahmaqo ki tarah aawaz nikalne se jo fajir log aawaz nikalte hain nagme aur lahoo-o-laab ke sath aur shaitan ki dhun ke sath aur musibat ke waqt us aawaz se jis ke sath chehra chheelna bhi ho, gareban chaak karna bhi ho aur ye rona to raham hai aur jo raham nahin karta us par raham nahin kiya jata. Aye Ibrahim agar ye haq na hota aur saja waada na hota aur ye ke har baad mein aane wala pahlo se milne wala na hota hum is kadar gham karte jo is se kahin ziada hota jo hum teri judai se ghamzada hain aankhen ro rahi hain aur dil ghamgeen hai aur hum wo baat nahin karenge jo hamare Rab ko naraz kare.

٧١٥١ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ،قَالَ:خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى النَّخْلِ فَإِذَا ابْنُهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَجُودُ بِنَفْسِهِ فَوَضَعَهُ فِي حِجْرِهِ فَفَاضَتْ عَيْنَاهُ،فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ:أَتَبْكِي وَأَنْتَ تَنْهَى النَّاسَ؟قَالَ:" إِنِّي لَمْ أَنْهَ عَنِ الْبُكَاءِ إِنَّمَا نَهَيْتُ عَنِ النَّوْحِ صَوْتَيْنِ أَحْمَقَيْنِ فَاجِرَيْنِ صَوْتٌ عِنْدَ نَغَمَةِ لَهْوٍ وَلَعِبٍ وَمَزَامِيرِ شَيْطَانٍ، وَصَوْتٌ عِنْدَ مُصِيبَةٍ خَمْشُ وُجُوهٍ وَشَقُّ جُيُوبٍ وَرَنَّةٌ وَهَذَا هُوَ رَحْمَةٌ وَمَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ، يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ لَوْلَا أَنَّهُ أَمْرٌ حَقٌّ، وَوَعْدٌ صِدْقٌ وَأَنَّ آخِرَنَا سَيَلْحَقُ بِأَوَّلِنَا لَحَزِنَّا عَلَيْكَ حُزْنًا هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْ هَذَا، وَإِنَّا بِكَ لَمَحْزُونُونَ تَبْكِي الْعَيْنُ وَيَحْزَنُ الْقَلْبُ وَلَا نَقُولُ مَا يُسْخِطُ الرَّبَّ "

Narrated Abdullah bin Umar: When Sad bin Ubadah became ill, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went to visit him accompanied by Abdur-Rahman bin Auf, Sad bin Abi Waqqas and Abdullah bin Masud. When he (the Prophet) entered upon him (Sad), the latter was unconscious. He (the Prophet) said, "Has he died?" They said, "No." So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) wept, and when the people saw him weeping, they also wept. Thereupon he said, "Don't you hear? Allah does not punish for the tears the eye sheds, nor for the grief the heart feels, but (He punishes or shows mercy) for this." And he pointed to his tongue.

(٧١٥٢) عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ سعد بن عبادہ (رض) بیمار ہوگئے تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تیمار داری کے لیے آئے اور عبد الرحمن بن عوف آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ تھے اور سعد بن ابی وقاص اور عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) بھی۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس کے پاس آئے تو ان پر غشی طاری تھی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے فرمایا : کیا فوت ہوچکے ہیں ؟ تو کہا گیا : نہیں تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) رو دیے۔ جب قوم نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے رو نے کو دیکھا تو وہ بھی رو دیے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : کیا تم سنتے نہیں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ آنکھ کے آنسوں سے عذاب نہیں کرتے اور نہ ہی دل کے غمناک ہونے سے، بلکہ عذاب تو اس سے ہوتا ہے اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنی زبان کی طرف اشارہ کیا یا رحم کیا جاتا ہے۔

7152 Abdullah bin Umar (RA) farmate hain ki Saad bin Ubadah (RA) bimar hogaye to Rasul Allah (SAW) timadari ke liye aaye aur Abdur Rahman bin Auf aap (SAW) ke sath the aur Saad bin Abi Waqas aur Abdullah bin Masood (RA) bhi. Jab aap (SAW) uske pass aaye to un par ghashi tari thi to aap (SAW) se farmaya : kya faut hochuke hain ? To kaha gaya : nahi to Rasul Allah (SAW) ro diye. Jab qaum ne aap (SAW) ke rone ko dekha to woh bhi ro diye to aap (SAW) ne farmaya : kya tum sunte nahi ki Allah Ta'ala aankh ke aansuon se azab nahi karte aur na hi dil ke ghamnak hone se, balki azab to us se hota hai aur aap (SAW) ne apni zaban ki taraf ishara kiya ya reham kiya jata hai.

٧١٥٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادٍ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أنبأ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْمُعَلَّى الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ،أَنَّهُ قَالَ:اشْتَكَى سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ شَكْوَى لَهُ فَأَتَاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعُودُهُ مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ وَسَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ وَجَدَهُ فِي غَشْيَةٍ فَقَالَ:" أَقَدْ قَضَى؟ "فَقَالُوا: لَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ،فَبَكَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا رَأَى الْقَوْمُ بُكَاءَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَكَوْا فَقَالَ:" أَلَا تَسْمَعُونَ أَنَّ اللهَ لَا يُعَذِّبُ بِدَمْعِ الْعَيْنِ وَلَا بِحُزْنِ الْقَلْبِ وَلَكِنْ يُعَذِّبُ بِهَذَا وَأَشَارَ إِلَى لِسَانِهِ أَوْ يَرْحَمُ ". ⦗١١٦⦘ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَصْبَغَ عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ. وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَوَّادٍ
