Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 13287
(13287) The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "We are an unlettered people. We neither write nor do we know arithmetic. The month is like this" - meaning that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) joined both of his hands and gestured three times, indicating that the month is of thirty days.

(١٣٢٨٧) نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا کہ ہم لوگ ان پڑھ ہیں نہ تو ہم لکھ سکتے ہیں اور نہ ہم حساب کتاب جانتے ہیں، مہینہ تو اس طرح ہوتا ہے یعنی آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دونوں ہاتھوں کو ملایا اور تین دفعہ اشارہ کیا کہ مہینہ تیس دن کا ہوتا ہے۔
Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya keh hum log an parh hain na to hum likh sakte hain aur na hum hisab kitab jante hain, mahina to is tarah hota hai yani aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne donon hathon ko milaya aur teen dafa ishara kiya keh mahina tees din ka hota hai.
١٣٢٨٧ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الطَّابَرَانِيُّ بِهَا، ثنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ الطُّوسِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الصَّائِغُ، ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ،ثنا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ:سَمِعْتُ الْأَسْوَدَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ،عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:" إِنَّا أُمَّةٌ أُمِّيَّةٌ لَا نَكْتُبُ وَلَا نَحْسُبُ، وَالشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا، وَهَكَذَا وَقَبَضَ إِصْبَعَهُ وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا، يَعْنِي ثَلَاثِينَ "أَخْرَجَاهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ
