Abu Mas'ud reported: I was beating my slave with a whip when I heard a voice behind me: "Abu Mas'ud! Know that..." I did not recognize the voice because of my anger. Then that voice came again. When he came near, I saw that it was the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said, "O Abu Mas'ud! Allah has more power over you than you have over your slave." He said: I threw the whip from my hand and said, "I will never beat my slave again."

(١٥٧٩٤) ابو مسعود فرماتے ہیں : میں اپنے غلام کو کوڑے سے مار رہا تھا تو میں نے اپنے پیچھے سے آواز سنی ” ابو مسعود جان لے “ غصے کی وجہ سے میں نے آواز نہ پہچانی۔ پھر یہی آواز آئی۔ جب قریب آئے تو دیکھا نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تھے اور فرما رہے تھے : اے ابو مسعود اللہ تجھ پر اس سے بھی زیادہ قدرت رکھتا ہے جتنی تو اپنے غلام پر۔ فرماتے ہیں : میں نے کوڑا ہاتھ سے پھینک دیا اور کہا : آج کے بعد میں کبھی اپنے غلام کو نہیں ماروں گا۔
Abu Masud farmate hain : mein apne gulaam ko kore se maar raha tha to mein ne apne peeche se aawaz suni ” Abu Masud jaan le “ ghusse ki wajah se mein ne aawaz nah pehchani. Phir yahi aawaz aai. Jab qareeb aaye to dekha Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) the aur farma rahe the : aye Abu Masud Allah tujh par is se bhi zyada qudrat rakhta hai jitni tu apne gulaam par. Farmate hain : mein ne kora hath se phenk diya aur kaha : aaj ke baad mein kabhi apne gulaam ko nahin marunga.
١٥٧٩٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، عَنْ، ح، وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ،قَالَ:كُنْتُ أَضْرِبُ غُلَامًا لِي بِالسَّوْطِ،فَسَمِعْتُ صَوْتًا مِنْ خَلْفِي:" اعْلَمْ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ ". فَلَمْ أَفْهَمِ الصَّوْتَ مِنَ الْغَضَبِ،فَقَالَ:" اعْلَمْ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ ". فَلَمَّا دَنَا مِنِّي إِذَا هُوَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،فَقَالَ:" اعْلَمْ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَقْدَرُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْكَ عَلَى هَذَا الْغُلَامِ "فَأَلْقَيْتُ السَّوْطَ مِنْ يَدِي،وَقُلْتُ:لَا أَضْرِبُ غُلَامًا بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ أَبَدًا. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي كَامِلٍ
