Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4845
'Amr bin Murrah asked Sa'eed bin Musayyab about the Witr prayer, so he said: 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to pray Witr in the first part of the night. When he would wake up at night, he would break his Witr, then pray, then he would pray the Witr prayer in the last part of the night. And 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to pray Witr in the last part of the night, and he was better than me. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) also used to pray in the early part of the night and join it in the last part. By this, he meant that he would pray the night prayer in two rak'ahs and would not break his Witr.

(٤٨٤٥) عمرو بن مرۃ نے سعید بن مسیب سے وتر کے بارے میں سوال کیا تو وہ کہنے لگے : عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) رات کے پہلے حصہ میں وتر پڑھتے، جب رات کو بیدار ہوتے تو اپنے وتر کو توڑ دیتے، پھر نماز پڑھتے، پھر وتر کی نماز رات کے آخری حصہ میں ہوتی اور حضرت عمر (رض) رات کے آخری حصہ میں وتر پڑھتے اور وہ مجھ سے بہتر تھے، ابوبکر (رض) بھی رات کے ابتدائی حصہ میں نماز پڑھتے اور آخری حصہ میں اس کو جوڑ لیتے تھے۔ اس سے ان کی مراد یہ تھی کہ وہ رات کی نماز دو دو رکعات پڑھتے اور اپنے وتر کو نہیں توڑتے تھے۔

٤٨٤٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ،وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا:ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا أَبُو بَدْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو سِنَانٍ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ،فَقَالَ:" كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يُوتِرُ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ، فَإِذَا قَامَ نَقَضَ وِتْرَهُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ آخِرَ صَلَاتِهِ أَوَاخِرَ اللَّيْلِ، وَكَانَ عُمَرُ يُوتِرُ آخِرَ اللَّيْلِ، وَكَانَ خَيْرًا مِنِّي وَمِنْهُمَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ يُوتِرُ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ وَيَشْفَعُ آخِرَهُ يُرِيدُ بِذَلِكَ يُصَلِّي مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، وَلَا يَنْقُضُ وِتْرَهُ "
