Sahih al-Bukhari 1429
Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he heard Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), while he was on the pulpit speaking about charity, to abstain from asking others for some financial help and about begging others, saying, the upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand is that of the giver and the lower (hand) is that of the beggar.’
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا جبکہ آپ منبر پر تشریف فر تھے اور آپ نے صدقہ کرنے، سوال سے اجتناب کرنے اور دست سوال پھیلانے کا ذکر کیا (اس دوران میں آپ نے فرمایا: ’’اوپر والا ہاتھ نیچےوالے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہے، اوپر والاہاتھ خرچ کرنے والا اورنیچے والا ہاتھ سوال کرنے والا ہے۔‘‘
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radhi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya jabke Aap minbar par tashreef farma the aur Aap ne sadqa karne, sawal se ijtenab karne aur dast-e-sawal phelane ka zikr kiya (is dawran mein Aap ne farmaya: ''Oopar wala hath neeche wale hath se behtar hai, oopar wala hath kharch karne wala aur neeche wala hath sawal karne wala hai.''
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ : وَذَكَرَ الصَّدَقَةَ , وَالتَّعَفُّفَ , وَالْمَسْأَلَةَ الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى ، فَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا هِيَ الْمُنْفِقَةُ ، وَالسُّفْلَى هِيَ السَّائِلَةُ .
