Sahih al-Bukhari 473
Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that a man came to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) while he was delivering the sermon and asked him how to offer the night prayers. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied, 'Pray two rak`at at a time and then two and then two and so on and if you are afraid of dawn (the approach of the time of the Fajr prayer) pray one rak`a and that will be the witr for all the rak`at which you have prayed." Narrated 'Ubaidullah bin `Abdullah bin `Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) : A man called the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was in the mosque.
حضرت ابن عمر ؓ ہی سے روایت ہے کہ ایک آدمی نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا جبکہ (اس وقت) آپ خطبہ دے رہے تھے۔ اس نے عرض کیا: رات کی نماز کس طرح ادا کی جائے؟ آپ نے فرمایا:’’دو دو رکعت۔ پھر جب تمہیں طلوع فجر کا اندیشہ ہو تو ایک رکعت وتر پڑھ لو۔ وہ تمہاری پڑھی ہوئی سابقہ نماز کو طاق عدد میں تبدیل کر دے گی۔‘‘ ولید بن کثیر اپنی سند سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابن عمر ؓ نے یہ بیان کیا کہ ایک شخص نے نبی ﷺ کو آواز دی جبکہ آپ مسجد میں تشریف فر تھے۔
Hazrat Ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) hi se riwayat hai ke ek aadmi Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hua jabke (is waqt) aap khutba de rahe thay. Us ne arz kiya: Raat ki namaz kis tarah ada ki jaye? Aap ne farmaya: ''Do do rakat. Phir jab tumhein tulu-e-fajr ka andesha ho to ek rakat witr parh lo. Wo tumhari parhi hui sabiqa namaz ko taaq adad mein tabdeel kar de gi.'' Waleed bin Kaseer apni sanad se bayan karte hain ke Hazrat Ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne yeh bayan kiya ke ek shakhs ne Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko awaz di jabke aap masjid mein tashreef farma thay.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ ، فَقَالَ : كَيْفَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ ؟ فَقَالَ : مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ تُوتِرُ لَكَ مَا قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ ، قَالَ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ : حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَهُمْ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا نَادَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ .
