Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 1328
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna `Uthman bin Abi Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a delegation from the tribe of Thaqeef came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) lodged them in the Prophet's Mosque so that this (gesture) would soften their hearts (and they would accept Islam).

سیدنا عثمان بن ابی العاص رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ثقیف قبیلہ کا ایک وفد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت اقدس میں حاضر ہوا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اُن کو مسجد نبوی میں ٹھہرایا تاکہ یہ چیز اُن کے دلوں کو خوب نرم کر دے (اور وہ اسلام قبول کرلیں۔)
Sayyidina Usman bin Abi al-As Radi Allahu Anhu se marvi hai ki Thaqif qabila ka ek wafd Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki khidmat aqdas mein hazir hua to aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne un ko Masjid Nabvi mein thahraya takih yeh cheez un ke dilon ko khoob narm kar de (aur wo Islam qubool kar lein).
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ، نَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ " أَنَّ وَفْدَ ثَقِيفٍ قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَنْزَلَهُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ أَرَقَّ لِقُلُوبِهِمْ"
