Abdullah bin Zaid bin 'Asim al-Ansari ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) who was a Sahabi, reported: It was said to him (by people): Perform for us the ablution (as it was performed) by the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). He ('Abdullah bin Zaid رضي الله تعالى عنه) called for a vessel (of water), and poured water from it on his hands and washed them three times. Then he inserted his hand (in the vessel) and brought it (water) out, rinsed his mouth and snuffed up water from the palm of one hand doing that three times, He again inserted his hand and brought it out and washed his face three times, then inserted his hand and brought it out and washed each arm up to the elbow twice, then inserted his hand and brought it out and wiped his head both front and back with his hands. He then washed his feet up to the ankles, and then said: This is how Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) performed ablution.
حضرت عبداللہ بن زید بن عاصم انصاریؓ (جسے شرفِ رفاقت حاصل ہے) ان سے کسی نے کہا: ہمیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا وضو کر کے دکھائیں! تو انھوں نے پانی کا برتن منگوایا اور اس سے اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں پر پانی ڈالا اور انھیں تین دفعہ دھویا، پھر (برتن میں) اپنا ہاتھ ڈال کر نکالا اور ایک ہتھیلی سے کلی کی اور ناک میں پانی کھینچا۔ یہ کام تین دفعہ کیا، پھر اپنا ہاتھ ڈال کر (برتن میں سے) نکالا اور اپنا چہرہ تین دفعہ دھویا، پھر برتن میں اپنا ہاتھ ڈال کر نکالا اور اپنے دونوں ہاتھ کہنیوں سمیت دو دو دفعہ دھوئے، پھر برتن میں ہاتھ ڈال کر اس سے پانی نکالا اور اپنے سر کا مسح کیا۔ اپنے دونوں ہاتھ آگے سے پیچھے کو اور پیچھے سے آگے لائے، پھر دونوں پاؤں ٹخنوں سمیت دھوئے، پھر کہا: ”رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایسے ہی وضو کیا کرتے تھے۔“
Hazrat Abdullah bin Zaid bin Aasim Ansari (Radi Allahu Anhu) (jisay sharaf-e-rafaqat hasil hai) un se kisi ne kaha: Hamein Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ka wazu kar ke dikhayein! To unhon ne pani ka bartan mangwaya aur us se apne dono hathon par pani dala aur unhein teen dafa dhoya, phir (bartan mein) apna hath daal kar nikala aur ek hatheli se kulli ki aur naak mein pani khaincha. Ye kaam teen dafa kiya, phir apna hath daal kar (bartan mein se) nikala aur apna chehra teen dafa dhoya, phir bartan mein apna hath daal kar nikala aur apne dono hath kohniyon samet do do dafa dhoye, phir bartan mein hath daal kar us se pani nikala aur apne sar ka masah kiya. Apne dono hath aage se peechhe ko aur peechhe se aage laye, phir dono paon takhnon samet dhoye, phir kaha: "Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) aise hi wazu kiya karte the."
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، - وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ - قَالَ قِيلَ لَهُ تَوَضَّأْ لَنَا وُضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم . فَدَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ فَأَكْفَأَ مِنْهَا عَلَى يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ مِنْ كَفٍّ وَاحِدَةٍ فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَاسْتَخْرَجَهَا فَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ فَأَقْبَلَ بِيَدَيْهِ وَأَدْبَرَ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا كَانَ وُضُوءُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم .
