Miqdad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported, I and two of my companions were so much afflicted by hunger that we had lost our power of seeing and hearing. We presented ourselves (as guests) to the Companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), but none amongst them would entertain us. So, we came to Allah's Apostle (a), and he took us to his residence and there were three goats. Allah's Apostle (a) said, milk these for us. So, we milked them and every person amongst us drank his share and we set aside the share of Allah's Apostle (a). (It was his habit) to come during the night and greet (the people present there) in a manner that would not wake up one in sleep but make one who was awake hear it. He would then go to the mosque and offer prayer, then go to the milk and drink it. Miqdad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) added, one night the Satan came to me when I had taken my share, and he said, Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) has gone to the Ansar, who would offer him hospitality and he would get what is with them, and he has no need for this draught (of milk). So, I took (that milk) and drank it, and when it had penetrated deeply in my stomach and I was certain that there was no way out (but to digest it), the Satan aroused (my sense of) remorse and said, woe be to you, what have you done? You have taken the drink reserved for Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). When he would come and he would not find it, he would curse you, and you would be ruined, and thus there would go (waste) this world and the Hereafter (for) you. There was a sheet over me; as I placed (pulled) it upon my feet, my head was uncovered and as I placed it upon my head, my feet were uncovered, and I could not sleep, but my two companions had gone to sleep for they had not done what I had done. There came Allah's Apostle (صلى هللا عليه ِو آله وسلم), and he greeted as he used to greet (by saying As-Salamu Alaikum). He then came to the mosque and observed prayer and then came to his drink (milk) and uncovered it but did not find anything in it. He raised his head towards the sky, and I said (to myself) that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was going to invoke curse upon me, and I would be thus ruined; but he said, Allah, feed him who fed me and give drink to him who provided me drink. I held tight the sheet upon myself (and when he had supplicated), I took hold of the knife and went to the goats (possessed by the Prophet ﷺ) so that I may slaughter one for Allah's Apostle (صلى ِهللا عليه و آله وسلم) which was the fattest amongst them, and in fact all of them were milch goats; then I took hold of the vessel which belonged to the family of Allah's Apostle (ِصلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) in which they used to milk and drink therefrom, and milked them in that until it swelled up with foam. I came to Allah's Apostle (صلى هللا ِعليه و آله وسلم) and he said, have you taken your share of the milk during the night? I said, drink it, and he drank it; he then handed over (the vessel) to me and I said, Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), drink it, and he drank it and handed over (the vessel) to me again, I then perceived that Allah's Apostle (صلى هللا ِعليه و آله وسلم) had been satiated and I had got his blessings. I burst into laughter (so much) so that I fell upon the ground, whereupon Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, Miqdad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) it must be one of your mischiefs. I said, Allah's Apostle (صلى هللا ِعليه ِو آله وسلم), this affair of mine is like this and this and I have done so. Thereupon. Allah's Apostle (صلى هللا عليه و ِآله وسلم) said, this is nothing but a mercy from Allah. Why is it that you did not give me an opportunity so that we should have awakened our two friends and they would have got their share (of the milk)? I said, by Him Who has sent you with Truth. I do not mind whatever you give (to them), and whatever the (other) people happen to get, when I had got it along with you from among the people.
حضرت مقداد رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، میں اور میرے دو ساتھی آئے اور ہمارے کان اور ہماری آنکھیں بھوک کی وجہ سے ختم ہو رہے تھے، یعنی ہماری ساعت اور بصارت متاثر ہو رہی تھی تو ہم اپنے آپ کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھیوں کے سامنے پیش کرنے لگے اور ان میں سے کوئی ہمیں قبول کرنے کی سکت نہ رکھتا تھا تو ہم نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور آپ ہمیں لے کر اپنے گھر چلے گئے تو وہاں تین بکریاں موجود تھیں، سو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ہمارے لیے مشترکہ طور پر ان کو دوہ لو۔“ تو ہم ان کا دودھ نکال لیتے اور ہم میں سے ہر انسان اپنا حصہ پی لیتا اور ہم نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا حصہ اٹھا رکھتے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رات کو تشریف لاتے اور اس طرح سلام کہتے جس سے سونے والا بیدار نہ ہوا اور بیدار سن لے، پھر مسجد میں جا کر نماز پڑھتے، پھر اپنے مشروب کے پاس آ کر اسے نوش فرما لیتے، ایک رات میرے پاس شیطان آیا، جبکہ میں اپنا حصہ پی چکا تھا، کہنے لگا، محمد ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) انصار کے پاس جاتا ہے، وہ اسے تحفے پیش کرتے ہیں اور وہ ان کے ہاں اپنی ضرورت کی چیز پا لیتے ہیں، اسے اس گھونٹ کی ضرورت نہیں ہے تو میں اس کے پاس آیا اور اسے پی لیا تو جب وہ میرے پیٹ میں سما گیا اور میں نے جان لیا، اب اس تک پہنچنے کی کوئی راہ نہیں، (وہ واپس نہیں آ سکتا) شیطان نے مجھے پشیمان کرنا شروع کر دیا، کہنے لگا، تم پر افسوس! تو نے کیا حرکت کی؟ کیا تو نے محمد ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) کا مشروب بھی پی لیا ہے؟ وہ آئے گا اور اسے نہ پا کر تیرے خلاف دعا کرے گا اور تو ہلاک ہو جائے گا، جس سے تیری دنیا اور آخرت تباہ ہو جائے گی، اور مجھ پر ایک چادر تھی، جب میں اسے اپنے پاؤں پر ڈالتا تو سر کھل جاتا اور جب میں اسے اپنے سر پر ڈالتا تو میرے پاؤں ظاہر ہو جاتے اور مجھے نیند نہیں آ رہی تھی، جبکہ میرے دونوں ساتھی سو چکے تھے اور انہوں نے میرے والی حرکت نہ کی تھی، اتنے میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لے آئے اور آپ نے معمول کے مطابق سلام کہا، پھر مسجد میں آ کر نماز پڑھی، پھر اپنے مشروب کے پاس آئے، اس سے پردہ اٹھایا تو برتن میں کچھ نہ پایا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنا سر آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا، میں نے دل میں کہا، اب آپ میرے خلاف دعا کریں گے، جس سے میں ہلاک ہو جاؤں گا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دعا فرمائی ”اے اللہ! مجھے کھلانے والے کو کھلا اور مجھے پلانے والے کو پلا۔“ تو میں نے اپنی چادر کی طرف توجہ کی اور اسے اپنے اوپر اچھی طرح باندھ لیا اور چھری پکڑی اور بکریوں کی طرف چل پڑا تاکہ جو ان میں سے زیادہ موٹی ہو اسے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے لیے ذبح کروں تو اس کے تھن دودھ سے بھرے ہوئے تھے اور ان سب کے تھنوں میں دودھ جمع ہو چکا تھا تو میں نے محمد ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) کے گھر والوں کا وہ برتن لیا، جس میں وہ دودھ نکالنے کی خواہش نہیں کر سکتے تھے، میں نے اس میں دودھ دوہا، حتی کہ اس پر جھاگ آ گئی، پھر میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: ”کیا آج رات تم نے اپنا مشروب پی لیا؟“ میں نے کہا: اے اللہ کے رسول! پیجئے، آپ نے پی لیا، پھر مجھے پکڑا دیا، میں نے کہا: اے اللہ کے رسول! پیجئے، آپ نے پیا اور پھر مجھے پکڑا دیا، جب میں نے سمجھ لیا کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سیر ہو چکے ہیں اور میں نے آپ کی دعا بھی لے لی، میں کھل کھلا ہنس پڑا، حتی کہ زمین پر لوٹ پوٹ ہونے لگا تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تیری حرکتوں میں سے ایک ہے، اے مقداد!“ اس پر میں نے کہا: اے اللہ کے رسول! میرے ساتھ یہ معاملہ پیش آیا اور میں نے یہ کام کیا، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”یہ تو محض اللہ کی رحمت ہے تو نے مجھے آگاہ کیوں نہ کیا، ہم اپنے دونوں ساتھیوں کو جگاتے، اور وہ بھی اس رحمت سے حصہ پا لیتے“ میں نے کہا: اس ذات کی قسم، جس نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو حق دے کر بھیجا ہے، مجھے کوئی پرواہ نہیں ہے، جب آپ نے اس کو پا لیا اور میں نے آپ کے ساتھ اس کو پا لیا، یہ لوگوں میں سے کس کو ملتی ہے۔
Hazrat Miqdad (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) bayan karte hain, main aur mere do saathi aaye aur hamare kaan aur hamari aankhein bhook ki wajah se khatm ho rahe the, yani hamari sa'at aur basarat mutassir ho rahi thi to hum apne aap ko Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke saathiyon ke samne pesh karne lage aur un mein se koi hamein qabool karne ki taaqat na rakhta tha to hum Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hue aur aap hamein le kar apne ghar chale gaye to wahan teen bakrian maujood theen, so Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Hamare liye mushtarka taur par un ko doh lo." To hum un ka doodh nikal lete aur hum mein se har insaan apna hissa pee leta aur hum Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ka hissa utha rakhte to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) raat ko tashreef late aur iss tarah salam kehte jis se sone wala bedaar na hua aur bedaar sun le, phir masjid mein ja kar namaz padhte, phir apne mashroob ke paas aa kar usay nosh farma lete, ek raat mere paas Shaitan aaya, jabke main apna hissa pee chuka tha, kehne laga, Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) Ansar ke paas jata hai, woh usay tuhfe pesh karte hain aur woh un ke haan apni zarurat ki cheez pa lete hain, usay iss ghoont ki zarurat nahin hai to main us ke paas aaya aur usay pee liya to jab woh mere pet mein sama gaya aur main ne jaan liya, ab us tak pahunchne ki koi raah nahin, (woh wapas nahin aa sakta) Shaitan ne mujhe pasheman karna shuru kar diya, kehne laga, tum par afsos! Tu ne kya harkat ki? Kya tu ne Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ka mashroob bhi pee liya hai? Woh aaye ga aur usay na pa kar tere khilaf dua kare ga aur tu halak ho jayega, jis se teri dunya aur akhirat tabah ho jayegi, aur mujh par ek chadar thi, jab main usay apne paaon par dalta to sar khul jata aur jab main usay apne sar par dalta to mere paaon zahir ho jate aur mujhe neend nahin aa rahi thi, jabke mere dono saathi so chuke the aur unhone mere wali harkat na ki thi, itne mein Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) tashreef le aaye aur aap ne mamool ke mutabiq salam kaha, phir masjid mein aa kar namaz padhi, phir apne mashroob ke paas aaye, us se parda uthaya to bartan mein kuchh na paya, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne apna sar aasman ki taraf uthaya, main ne dil mein kaha, ab aap mere khilaf dua karein ge, jis se main halak ho jaunga, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne dua farmai "Aye Allah! Mujhe khilane wale ko khila aur mujhe pilane wale ko pila." To main ne apni chadar ki taraf tawajjo ki aur usay apne upar achhi tarah baandh liya aur chhuri pakdi aur bakriyon ki taraf chal pada taake jo un mein se ziyada moti ho usay Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke liye zubah karun to us ke than doodh se bhare hue the aur un sab ke thanon mein doodh jama ho chuka tha to main ne Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke ghar walon ka woh bartan liya, jis mein woh doodh nikalne ki khwahish nahin kar sakte the, main ne us mein doodh doha, hatta ke us par jhag aa gayi, phir main Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hua, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne pucha: "Kya aaj raat tum ne apna mashroob pee liya?" Main ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Peejiye, aap ne pee liya, phir mujhe pakda diya, main ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Peejiye, aap ne piya aur phir mujhe pakda diya, jab main ne samajh liya ke Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) sair ho chuke hain aur main ne aap ki dua bhi le li, main khilkhila hans pada, hatta ke zameen par laut pot hone laga to Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Teri harkaton mein se ek hai, aye Miqdad!" Is par main ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Mere saath yeh mamla pesh aaya aur main ne yeh kaam kiya, to Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Yeh to mahaz Allah ki rahmat hai tu ne mujhe aagah kyon na kiya, hum apne dono saathiyon ko jagate, aur woh bhi iss rahmat se hissa pa lete" main ne kaha: Us zaat ki qasam, jis ne Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ko haq de kar bheja hai, mujhe koi parwah nahin hai, jab aap ne us ko pa liya aur main ne aap ke saath us ko pa liya, yeh logon mein se kis ko milti hai.
