باب الْجَمْعِ بَيْنَ الصَّلاَتَيْنِ فِي الْحَضَرِ
Sahih Muslim 705a
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrataed that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) observed the noon and afternoon prayers together, and the sunset and Isha prayers together without being in a state of fear or in a state of journey.
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خوف اور سفر کے بغیر ظہر اور عصر کو جمع کیا اور مغرب اور عشاء کو جمع کیا۔
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne khauf aur safar ke baghair Zohar aur Asar ko jama kiya aur Maghrib aur Isha ko jama kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا فِي غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلاَ سَفَرٍ .
Sahih Muslim 705b
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) observed the noon and afternoon prayers together in Madina without being in a state of fear or in a state of journey. (Abu Zubair said, I asked Sa'id (one of the narrators) why he did that. He said, ‘I asked Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) as you have asked me, and he replied that he (the Prophet ﷺ) wanted that no one among his Ummah should be put to hardship.
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مدینہ میں خوف اور سفر کے بغیر ظہر اور عصر کو جمع کیا۔ ابوزبیر کہتے ہیں میں نے (ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کے شاگرد) سعید سے پوچھا، آپ نے ایسا کیوں کیا تھا؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا، جیسے تو نے مجھ سے یہ سوال کیا ہے۔ میں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے سوال کیا تھا تو انہوں نے کہا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے چاہا کہ اپنی امت کے کسی فرد کو تنگی اور دشواری میں نہ ڈالیں۔
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne Madinah mein khauf aur safar ke baghair Zohar aur Asar ko jama kiya. Abu Zubair kehte hain maine (Ibn Abbas Radiyallahu Anhuma ke shagird) Saeed se pucha, Aap ne aisa kyun kiya tha? Unhone jawab diya, jaise tu ne mujh se yeh sawal kiya hai. Maine Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) se sawal kiya tha toh unhone kaha, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne chaha ke apni ummat ke kisi fard ko tangi aur dushwari mein na dalein.
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) combined the prayers as he set on a journey in the expedition to Tabuk. He combined the noon prayer with the afternoon prayer and the sunset prayer with the Isha prayer. Sa'id (one of the rawis) said to Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) what prompted him to do this? He said, he wanted that his Ummah should not be put to hardship.
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک سفر جو غزوہٴ تبوک کے لیے کیا تھا دو نمازوں کو جمع کیا، ظہر اور عصر کو اکٹھا پڑھا مغرب اور عشاء کو اکٹھا پڑھا۔ (ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے شاگرد) سعید کہتے ہیں، میں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے پوچھا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایسا کیوں کیا تھا؟ انہوں نے کہا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے چاہا اپنی امت کو حرج اور تنگی میں نہ ڈالیں۔
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne ek safar jo Ghazwa-e-Tabook ke liye kiya tha do namazon ko jama kiya, Zohar aur Asar ko ikttha parha Maghrib aur Isha ko ikttha parha. (Ibn Abbas Radiyallahu Anhu ke shagird) Saeed kehte hain, maine Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) se pucha, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne aisa kyun kiya tha? Unhone kaha, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne chaha apni ummat ko haraj aur tangi mein na dalein.
Mu'adh (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that they set out with the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) on the Tabuk expedition, and he observed the noon and afternoon prayers together and the sunset and Isha prayers together.
ابو طفیل عامر، معاذ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ہم غزوہٴ تبوک میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ہمراہ نکلے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ظہر اور عصر اکٹھی پڑھتے تھے اور مغرب اور عشاء کو جمع کرتے تھے۔
Abu Tufail Aamir, Muadh (Radiyallahu Anhu) se bayan karte hain ke hum Ghazwa-e-Tabook mein Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ke hamrah nikle toh Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) Zohar aur Asar iktthi parhte thay aur Maghrib aur Isha ko jama karte thay.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ، عَامِرٍ عَنْ مُعَاذٍ، قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا .
Sahih Muslim 706b
Mu'adh bin Jabal ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) combined in the expedition to Tabuk the noon prayer with the afternoon prayer and the sunset prayer with the Isha prayer. He (one of the narrators) said, ‘what prompted him to do that? He (Mu'adh رضي الله تعالى عنه) replied that he (the Prophet ﷺ) wanted that his Ummah should not be put to hardship.
حضرت معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غزوہٴ تبوک میں ظہر اور عصر اور مغرب اور عشاء کو جمع کیا (معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے شاگرد) کہتے ہیں میں نے پوچھا آپ نے ایسا کس مقصد کے لیے کیا؟ تو انہوں نے کہا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے چاہا امت کو دشواری نہ ہو۔
Hazrat Muadh bin Jabal (Radiyallahu Anhu) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne Ghazwa-e-Tabook mein Zohar aur Asar aur Maghrib aur Isha ko jama kiya (Muadh bin Jabal Radiyallahu Anhu ke shagird) kehte hain maine pucha Aap ne aisa kis maqsad ke liye kiya? Toh unhone kaha, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne chaha ummat ko dushwari na ho.
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) combined the noon prayer with the afternoon prayer and the sunset prayer with the Isha prayer in Madina without being in a state of danger or rainfall. And in the Hadith transmitted by Waki' (the words are), ‘I said to Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه), ‘what prompted him to do that? He said, ‘so that his (Prophet's ) Ummah should not be put to hardship.’ And in the Hadith transmitted by Mu'awiya (the words are), ‘it was said to Ibn Abbas, what did he intend thereby? He said he wanted that his Ummah should not be put to hardship.’
ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مدینہ میں بلا خوف و خطر اور بلا بارش ظہر و عصر اور مغرب و عشاء کو جمع کیا، وکیع کی روایت میں ہے سعید نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے پوچھا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایسا کیوں کیا؟ انہوں نے کہا، تاکہ اپنی امت کو دشواری میں مبتلا نہ کریں اور ابو معاویہ کی حدیث میں ہے، ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے پوچھا گیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے کیا چاہا؟ انہوں نے کہا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے چاہا آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی امت کو دشواری نہ ہو۔
Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne Madinah mein bila khauf-o-khatar aur bila barish Zohar-o-Asar aur Maghrib-o-Isha ko jama kiya, Waki ki riwayat mein hai Saeed ne Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) se pucha, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne aisa kyun kiya? Unhone kaha, taake apni ummat ko dushwari mein mubtala na karein aur Abu Muawiya ki hadith mein hai, Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) se pucha gaya, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne is se kya chaha? Unhone kaha, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne chaha Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ki ummat ko dushwari na ho.
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he prayed with the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) eight raka in combination, and seven rak'a in combination. I (one of the narrators) said, O Abd Sha'tha (رضي الله تعالى عنه), I think that he (the Prophet ﷺ) had delayed the noon prayer and hastened the afternoon prayer, and he delayed the sunset prayer and hastened the Isha prayer. He said, ‘I also think so’.
جابر بن زید ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے نقل کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ آٹھ رکعات (ظہر و عصر) اکٹھی پڑھیں اور سات رکعات (مغرب و عشاء) اکٹھی پڑھیں، عمرو کہتے ہیں میں نے ابو شعثاء (جابر بن زید) سے پوچھا کہ میرا خیال ہے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ظہر میں تاخیر کی اور عصر جلدی پڑھی، مغرب کو مؤخر کیا اور عشاء میں تعجیل (جلدی کی، انہوں نے کہا، میرا خیال بھی یہی ہے۔) امام بخاری رحمۃ اللہ علیہ نے بھی یہی باب باندھا ہے۔ (أَخَّرَ الظُّھْرَ وَ عَجَّلَ الْعَصْرَ)۔
Jaber bin Zaid Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) se naqal karte hain ke maine Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ke saath aath rakkaat (Zohar-o-Asar) iktthi parhein aur saat rakkaat (Maghrib-o-Isha) iktthi parhein, Amr kehte hain maine Abu Shatha (Jaber bin Zaid) se pucha ke mera khayal hai Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne Zohar mein takheer ki aur Asar jaldi parhi, Maghrib ko moakhar kiya aur Isha mein ta'jeel (jaldi ki, unhone kaha, mera khayal bhi yehi hai.) Imam Bukhari (Rehmatullah Alayh) ne bhi yehi bab bandha hai. (Akkhara-z-Zohra wa ajjala-l-Asra).
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) prayed in Madina seven rak'a and eight rak'ah, (he combined) the noon and afternoon prayers (eight rak'a) and the sunset and Isha prayers (seven rak'a.
ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مدینہ میں سات رکعات اور آٹھ رکعات نماز پڑھی یعنی ظہر اور عصر، مغرب اور عشاء اکٹھی پڑھیں۔
Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne Madinah mein saat rakkaat aur aath rakkaat namaz parhi yani Zohar aur Asar, Maghrib aur Isha iktthi parhein.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلَّى بِالْمَدِينَةِ سَبْعًا وَثَمَانِيًا الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ .
Sahih Muslim 705g
Abdullah bin Shaqiq narrated that one day Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) addressed us in the Asr (after the prayer) till the sun disappeared and the stars appeared, and the people began to say, Prayer, prayer. A person from Banu Tamim came there. He neither slackened nor turned away, but (continued crying): Prayer, prayer. Ibn Abbas said, ‘may you be deprived of your mother, do you teach me Sunnah? And then he said, ‘I saw the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) combining the Zuhr and Asr prayers and Maghrib and Isha prayers. Abdullah bin Shaqiq said, some doubt was created in my mind about it. So, I came to Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and asked him (about it) and he testified Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) assertion.
عبداللہ بن شفیق بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ایک دن ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے عصر کے بعد خطاب شروع کیا، حتی کہ سورج غروب ہو گیا اور ستارے نمودار ہو گئے اور لوگ کہنے لگے، نماز، نماز۔ پھر ان کے پاس بنو تمیم کا ایک آدمی آیا جو نہ سست پڑتا تھا اور نہ باز آ رہا تھا، نماز، نماز کہے جا رہا تھا۔ تو ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے کہا، بڑے تعجب اور حیرت کی بات ہے کیا تو مجھے سنت سکھا رہا ہے، پھر کہا، میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ظہر اور عصر اور مغرب اور عشاء کو جمع کیا، عبداللہ بن شفیق کہتے ہیں تو اس سے میرے دل میں خلش اور کھٹکا پیدا ہوا۔ تو میں ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور ان سے پوچھا تو انہوں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کے قول کی تصدیق کی۔
Abdullah bin Shaqeeq bayan karte hain ke ek din Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) ne Asar ke baad khitab shuru kiya, hatta ke suraj ghuroob ho gaya aur sitare namoodar ho gaye aur log kehne lage, namaz, namaz. Phir un ke paas Banu Tamim ka ek aadmi aaya jo na sust parta tha aur na baz aa raha tha, namaz, namaz kahe ja raha tha. Toh Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) ne kaha, bare t'ajub aur hairat ki baat hai kya tu mujhe sunnat sikha raha hai, phir kaha, maine Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ko dekha Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne Zohar aur Asar aur Maghrib aur Isha ko jama kiya, Abdullah bin Shaqeeq kehte hain toh is se mere dil mein khalish aur khattka paida hua. Toh mein Abu Hurairah (Radiyallahu Anhu) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur un se pucha toh unhone Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) ke qaul ki tasdeeq ki.
Abdullah bin Shaqiq al-Uqaili narrated that a person said to Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) (as he delayed the prayer), ‘prayer’. He kept silence. He again said,‘prayer’. He again kept silence, and he again shouted, ‘prayer’. He again kept silence and said. may you be deprived of your mother, do you teach us about prayer? We used to combine two prayers during the life of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).
ایک شخص نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے کہا، نماز پڑھو، آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ خاموش رہے، اس نے پھر کہا، نماز پڑھو، وہ پھر بھی چپ رہے۔ اس نے پھر کہا، نماز، تو آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ چپ رہے۔ پھر کہنے لگے، تجھ پر حیرت ہے تو کیا ہمیں نماز کی تعلیم دیتا ہے۔ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے دور میں دو نمازیں جمع کر لیا کرتے تھے۔
Ek shakhs ne Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu Anhuma) se kaha, namaz parho, Aap (Radiyallahu Anhu) khamosh rahe, usne phir kaha, namaz parho, woh phir bhi chup rahe. Usne phir kaha, namaz, toh Aap (Radiyallahu Anhu) chup rahe. Phir kehne lage, tujh par hairat hai toh kya humein namaz ki taleem deta hai. Hum Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ke daur mein do namazein jama kar liya karte thay.
