Sunan an-Nasa'i 2268
Jafar bin 'Amr bin Umayyah Ad-Damri narrated that his father said, he came to the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said to me, 'stay and have a meal for breakfast, O Abu Umayyah (رضي الله تعالى عنه).' He said, I am fasting.' The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, 'come and I will tell you about the traveler. Allah has waived the fasting and half the prayer for him.’

عمرو بن امیہ ضمری رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس پہنچا تو آپ نے مجھ سے فرمایا: ”اے امیہ! تم کیوں نہیں دوپہر کے کھانے کا انتظار کر لیتے“، میں نے عرض کیا: میں روزے سے ہوں۔ تو آپ نے فرمایا: ( میرے قریب ) آ جاؤ۔ ”میں مسافر کے سلسلے میں تمہیں ( شریعت کا حکم ) بتاتا ہوں: اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس سے روزہ کی چھوٹ دے دی ہے، اور نماز آدھی کر دی ہے“۔
Amr ibn Umayya Zumri (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pas pahuncha to aap ne mujh se farmaya: "Ae Umayya! Tum kyon nahin dopahar ke khane ka intezar kar lete", main ne arz kiya: main roze se hun. To aap ne farmaya: ( mere qareeb ) a jao. "Main musafir ke silsile mein tumhein ( shariat ka hukm ) batata hun: Allah Ta'ala ne is se roze ki chhut de di hai, aur namaz aadhi kar di hai".
أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو قِلاَبَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَلاَ تَنْتَظِرُ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ " . قُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ . فَقَالَ " تَعَالَ أُخْبِرْكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلاَةِ " .
