Regarding wearing wool and cloaks, and other things
فِي لُبْسِ الصُّوفِ وَالْأَكْسِيَةِ وَغَيْرِهَا
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 24902
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Rafi' bin Abi Rafi'. He said: I saw Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) that you had a sheet of Fadak. When you rode, you used to fold it and pin it up, and when we dismounted, you and I used to wear it. This is the same sheet about which the tribe of Hawazin taunted you. They had said: Should we pledge allegiance to this person with the torn sheet after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?
حضرت رافع بن ابی رافع سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت ابوبکر کو دیکھا کہ آپ کے پاس ایک مقام فدک کی چادر تھی۔ جب آپ سوار ہوتے تو آپ اس کو سمیٹ کر پن لگا لیتے اور جب ہم اترتے تو میں اور آپ اس کو پہن لیتے۔ یہی وہ چادر ہے جس کا طعنہ آپ کو ہوازن نے دیا تھا۔ انھوں نے کہا تھا۔ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے بعد ہم ذا الخلال کی بیعت کریں ؟
Hazrat Rafi bin Abi Rafi se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain ke maine Hazrat Abubakar ko dekha ke aap ke pass ek maqam Fadak ki chadar thi. Jab aap sawar hote to aap us ko samet kar pin laga lete aur jab hum utarte to main aur aap us ko pehen lete. Yahi wo chadar hai jis ka taana aap ko Hawazin ne diya tha. Unhon ne kaha tha. Janab Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke baad hum za al khalal ki bai'at karen?
It is narrated on the authority of 'Amr b. Mu'awiya that Abu Musa performed Hajj on a reddish brown camel with a tuft of hair on its head, and (he further said that) you had a debt to pay me.
حضرت عمرو بن میمون سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابو موسیٰ نے سُرخ رنگ کے اونٹ پر حج کیا جس کے سر (کے بالوں) کو چپکایا ہوا تھا۔ آپ پر آپ کی گون تھی۔
Hazrat Amr bin Maimoon se riwayat hai. Woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Abu Musa ne surkh rang ke oonth par Hajj kya jiske sar (ke baalon) ko chipkaya hua tha. Aap par aap ki gown thi.
It is narrated from Hazrat Hasan. He says that the pure wives of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had sheets which were called Murut. By God... They were neither very wide, nor were they soft.
حضرت حسن سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی ازواجِ مطہرات کے پاس چادریں تھیں جن کو مروط کہا جاتا تھا۔ وہ نہ تو بہت زیادہ چوڑی تھیں۔ بخدا۔۔۔ اور نہ ہی نرم تھیں۔
Hazrat Hassan se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain keh janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki azwaj-e-mutahirat ke pas chadren thin jin ko marut kaha jata tha. Wo na to bohat zyada chori thin. Bukhada... aur na hi narm thin.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Burdah. He says that I went to Hazrat Aisha and she showed me a thick izaar (lower garment) - which is made in Yemen - and a chadar (shawl) from those shawls - which you call malbada - and she swore and said: The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away in these two clothes.
حضرت ابو بردہ سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت عائشہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو انھوں نے مجھے ایک موٹا ازار ۔۔۔جو یمن میں بنائے جاتے ہیں۔ اور ان چادروں میں سے ایک چادر ۔۔۔جن کو تم ملبدہ کہتے ہیں ۔۔۔ نکال کر دکھائی اور آپ نے قسم کھا کر کہا۔ جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی روح مبارک ان دو کپڑوں میں قبض ہوئی ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Burda se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain ke mein Hazrat Ayesha ki khidmat mein hazir hua to unhon ne mujhe ek mota izaar jo Yemen mein banaye jate hain aur in chadarron mein se ek chadar jin ko tum mulbidah kehte ho nikal kar dikhayi aur aap ne qasam kha kar kaha. Janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki rooh mubarak in do kapdon mein qabz hui hai.
Hazrat Abu Burda narrates from his father that he said to me: O my son! If you were with us at the time when we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the heat of the sun reached us, you would think that the smell of our (sweat) was like the smell of sheep.
حضرت ابو بردہ، اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے مجھے کہا۔ اے میرے بیٹے ! اگر تم ہمارے ساتھ اس وقت ہوتے جبکہ ہم جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ ہوتے تھے اور ہمیں سورج کی حرارت پہنچتی تو تم یہ گمان کرتے کہ ہمارے (پسینہ کی) بو، بھیڑ کی بُو کی طرح ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Burda apne walid se riwayat karte hain ki unhon ne mujhe kaha Aye mere bete agar tum humare sath us waqt hote jabke hum Janaab Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke sath hote the aur humain sooraj ki hararat pahunchti to tum ye gumaan karte ke humare (pasina ki) boo, bhed ki boo ki tarah hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Mijlaz. He says that he fell ill with Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud in extreme cold.... The narrator says.... But (some of them) people would hesitate to come in old clothes or in an old sheet. The narrator says. So Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman came one morning in a shawl, then again in the same shawl, then on the third day also in the same shawl, upon which the people also became humble.
حضرت ابو مجلز سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابن مسعود کے ساتھ سخت سردی میں مبتلا ہو گئے۔۔۔ راوی کہتے ہیں ۔۔۔لیکن (ان میں سے بعض) آدمی اس بات میں حیا کرتے تھے کہ وہ پرانے کپڑے میں یا پرانی چادر میں آئے۔ راوی کہتے ہیں۔ پس حضرت ابو عبد الرحمن ایک صبح ایک شال میں آئے پھر دوبارہ اسی شال میں آئے پھر تیسرے دن بھی اسی شال میں آئے اس پر لوگوں میں بھی عاجزی آنے لگی۔
Hazrat Abu Mujlaz se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain ke Hazrat Ibn Masood ke sath sakht sardi mein mubtala ho gaye. Ravi kehte hain, lekin (in mein se baaz) aadmi is baat mein haya karte the ke wo purane kapde mein ya purani chadar mein aaye. Ravi kehte hain, Pas Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman ek subah ek shawl mein aaye phir dobara usi shawl mein aaye phir teesre din bhi usi shawl mein aaye is par logon mein bhi aajzi aane lagi.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ubadah bin Nusay that Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) used to have pieces of date palm leaves to tie around his thighs when he sat with his waist bent. And he was the Ameer (leader) of the people.
حضرت عبادہ بن نسی سے حضرت سلمان کے بارے میں روایت ہے کہ ان کے پاس سرین کے بل بیٹھ کر رانوں کو باندھنے کے لیے گون کے ٹکڑے تھے۔ جبکہ وہ لوگوں کے امیر تھے۔
Hazrat Ubaadah bin Nasi se Hazrat Salman ke baare mein riwayat hai ki unke paas Sareen ke bal beth kar raanon ko bandhne ke liye Goon ke tukde thay. Jabke wo logon ke ameer thay.
