It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ibn Abbas (R.A.) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would set out on a journey, he would supplicate: "O Allah! You are the companion in travel and the protector of the family. O Allah! I seek Your protection from the hardship of the journey and from the unpleasant sight of return. O Allah! Make the earth shrink for us and make the journey easy for us."
حضرت ابن عباس (رض) سے مروی ہے کہ آنحضرت (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب سفر پر روانہ ہونے لگتے تو یہ دعا پڑھتے۔ ” اے اللہ ! تو ہی سفر کا ساتھی ہے اور اہل و عیال کا محافظ ہے۔ اے اللہ ! میں سفر کی مشقت سے اور واپسی کے برے منظر سے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں۔ اے اللہ ! زمین کو ہمارے لیے سکیڑ دے اور سفر کو ہمارے لیے آسان فرما دے۔ “
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) se marvi hai keh Aap (SAW) jab safar per rawana honay lagtay to yeh dua parhtay. “Ae Allah! Tu hi safar ka saathi hai aur ahlo ayaal ka mehfooz hai. Ae Allah! Main safar ki mushkil se aur wapsi ke buray manzar se teri panaah chahta hun. Ae Allah! Zameen ko humain ke liye sikoor de aur safar ko humain ke liye aasan farma de.”
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (R.A) that a person, about to embark on a journey, came to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Please give me some advice." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I advise you to fear Allah and to recite Takbeer (Allahu Akbar) whenever you ascend a height."
حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) سے مروی ہے کہ ایک صاحب سفر پر روانہ ہونے لگے تو آنحضرت (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کی کہ اے اللہ کے رسول 5! مجھے کچھ وصیت (نصیحت) فرما دیجئے آنحضرت (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : آپ کو اللہ سے ڈرنے کی (تقویٰ اختیار کرنے کی) وصیت کرتا ہوں، اور ہر بلندی پر چڑھتے وقت تکبیر پڑھنے کی۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) se marvi hai ke aik sahib safar per rawana honay lage to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hue aur arz ki ke Aye Allah ke Rasool! Mujhe kuchh wasiyat (nasihat) farma dijiye. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Aap ko Allah se darne ki (taqwa ikhtiyar karne ki) wasiyat karta hun, aur har bulandi per chadhte waqt takbeer padhne ki.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abdullah bin Sarjis (RA) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intended to set out on a journey, he would seek refuge from the fatigue of the journey, from the grief and sorrow of the one returning, from the decrease in sustenance after its increase, from the supplication of the oppressed, and from an evil sight in the family and wealth.
حضرت عبداللہ بن سرجس (رض) سے مروی ہے کہ آنحضرت (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب سفر پر روانہ ہونے کا ارادہ فرماتے تو پناہ مانگتے سفر کی تھکان سے، پلٹنے والے کے حزن وملال سے، رزق کی زیادتی کے بعد اس کی کمی سے، مظلوم کی بددعا سے اور اہل ومال میں برے منظر سے۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Sarjis (RA) se marvi hai ke Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) jab safar par rawana hone ka irada farmate to panah mangte safar ki thakan se, palatne wale ke huzn o malal se, rizq ki ziyadati ke baad uski kami se, mazloom ki baddua se aur ahlo maal mein bure manzar se.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Aun bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "I am about to go on a journey, please advise me." Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "When you are about to leave, say: 'Bismillah, Hasbiyallah, Tawakkaltu 'Alallah.' When you say 'Bismillah,' the angel says, 'You have been guided.' And when you say 'Hasbiyallah,' the angel says, 'You have been protected.' And when you say 'Tawakkaltu 'Alallah,' the angel says, 'He is sufficient for you.'
حضرت عون بن عبداللہ (رض) سے مروی ہے کہ ایک شخص حضرت ابن مسعود (رض) کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور عرض کیا میں سفر پر جانا چاہ رہا ہوں مجھے کچھ وصیت فرما دیجئے، حضرت ابن مسعود (رض) نے ارشاد فرمایا : جب نکلنے لگو تو یوں کہہ لو، بِسْمِ اللہِ ، حَسْبِی اللَّہُ ، تَوَکَّلْتُ عَلَی اللہِ جب آپ نے بسم اللہ کہا تو فرشتہ کہتا ہے تجھے ہدایت دی گئی، اور جب آپ نے حَسْبِی اللَّہُ کہا تو فرشتہ نے ندا دی تیری حفاظت کی گئی اور جب آپ نے توکلت علی اللہ کہا تو فرشتہ نے ندا دی تیرے لیے وہ کافی ہوگیا ہے۔
Hazrat Aun bin Abdullah (RA) se marvi hai keh aik shakhs Hazrat Ibn Masood (RA) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur arz kya mein safar per jana chah raha hun mujhe kuch wasiyat farma dijiye, Hazrat Ibn Masood (RA) ne irshad farmaya : Jab nikalne lago to yun keh lo, Bismillah, Hasbi Allah, Tawakkaltu alallah jab ap ne Bismillah kaha to farishta kehta hai tujhe hidayat di gayi, aur jab ap ne Hasbi Allah kaha to farishte ne nida di teri hifazat ki gayi aur jab ap ne Tawakkaltu alallah kaha to farishte ne nida di tere liye wo kafi ho gaya hai.
Hazrat Ibrahim (RA) narrates that when the Sahaba (RA) used to go on a journey, they would make this dua: O Allah! The best forgiveness and pleasure are from You. All good is in Your Hands. You have power over all things. You are the Companion during the journey and the Protector of the family. O Allah! Fold up the earth for us and make the journey easy for us. O Allah! We seek Your protection from the hardships of the journey, the distress of returning, and an unpleasant sight of the family and wealth. O Allah! The best forgiveness and contentment are from You. All goodness is in Your hand. You have power over all things. You are the companion while traveling and the guardian of the family. O Allah! Shorten the earth for us and make the journey easy for us. O Allah! We seek Your protection from the hardships of travel, from a bad experience, and from finding our families and wealth in an unpleasant state.
حضرت ابراہیم (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرات صحابہ کرام (رض) سفر پر جاتے وقت یہ دعا پر ھتے، اللَّہُمَّ بَلاَغًا یُبْلَغُ خَیْرُ ، مَغْفِرَۃٍ مِنْک وَرِضْوَانًا ، بِیَدِکَ الْخَیْرُ ، إِنَّک عَلَی کُلِّ شَیْئٍ قَدِیرٌ ، اللَّہُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِی السَّفَرِ ، وَالْخَلِیفَۃُ عَلَی الأَہْلِ ، اللَّہُمَّ اطْوِ لَنَا الأَرْضَ ، وَہَوِّنْ عَلَیْنَا السَّفَرَ ، اللَّہُمَّ إِنَّا نَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ وَعْثَائِ السَّفَرِ ، وَکَآبَۃِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ ، وَسُوئِ الْمَنْظَرِ فِی الأَہْلِ وَالْمَالِ ۔ اے اللہ ! بہترین مغفرت اور رضامندی تیری طرف سے حاصل ہوتی ہے۔ ساری خیریں تیرے ہاتھ میں ہیں۔ تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔ تو سفر کا ساتھی اور اہل و عیال کا محافظ ہے۔ اے اللہ ! زمین کو ہمارے لیے سکیڑ دے اور سفر کو ہمارے لیے آسان فرما۔ اے اللہ ! ہم سفر کی مشقت، برے منظر اور اہل و عیال کی بری حالت سے تیری پناہ چاہتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Ibrahim (Razi Allah Anhu) farmate hain ki hazrat sahaba kiram (Rizwan Allah Alaihim Ajmaeen) safar par jate waqt yeh dua parhte, Allahumma balaghaan yublagu khairu, maghfiratam minka wa rizwanan, biyadika alkhairu, innaka ala kulli shai'in qadeer. Allahumma anta assaahibu fi assafari, walkhalifatu alal ahli, Allahumma atwi lana al-arda, wahawwin alaina assafara, Allahumma inna na'udhu bika min wa'thai assafari, waka'abati almunqalabi, wasu'i almanzari fil ahli walmal.
