Regarding the separation between a parent and their child.

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 22823
It is narrated from Hadhrat Abu Ja'far that when captive children would be brought before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) would grant a family from among them as slaves and children to a [Muslim] family, so that separation would not be caused among them.
حضرت ابو جعفر سے مروی ہے کہ آنحضرت (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس جب قیدی بچے آتے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک خاندان کو اسی کے خاندان سے غلام اور بچے عطا فرماتے تاکہ ان میں تفریق نہ ہو۔

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ، يَرْفَعُهُ قَالَ : « كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا قَدِمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّبْيُ أَعْطَى أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ يُفَرِّقَ بَيْنَهُمْ »
