Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 9586
It is narrated by Hazrat Abu Hurairah that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) observed a continuous fast (Sawm-e-Wisal). This became known to the people, so they also started observing continuous fasts. When you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were informed, you forbade the people from doing so and said, "I am not like you. My Lord feeds me and gives me to drink."
حضرت ابوہریرہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی پاک (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے صوم وصال رکھا، یہ بات لوگوں کو معلوم ہوئی تو لوگوں نے بھی صوم وصال رکھنا شروع کردیا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اطلاع ہوئی تو آپ نے لوگوں کو ایسا کرنے سے منع کیا اور فرمایا کہ میں تمہاری طرح نہیں ہوں، میرا رب مجھے کھلاتا ہے اور پلاتا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira se riwayat hai keh ek martaba Nabi Pak (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne saum wisal rakha, yeh baat logon ko maloom hui to logon ne bhi saum wisal rakhna shuru kardiya. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko ittila hui to Aap ne logon ko aisa karne se mana kiya aur farmaya keh mein tumhari tarah nahin hun, mera Rab mujhe khilata hai aur pilata hai.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : وَاصَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّاسَ فَوَاصَلُوا ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَنَهَاهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : « إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ عِنْدَ رَبِّي ، فَيُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي »
