Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3605
Wathilah bin Al-Asqa (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘indeed Allah has chosen Isma'il (عليه السالم) from the children of Ibrahim (عليه السالم), and He chose Banu Kinanah from the children of Isma'il (عليه السالم), and He chose the Quraish from Banu Kinanah, and He chose Banu Hashim from Quraish, and He chose me from Banu Hashim.’ Imam Tirmidhi says: "This Hadith is hasan sahih."

واثلہ بن اسقع رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ نے ابراہیم علیہ السلام کی اولاد میں سے اسماعیل علیہ السلام کا انتخاب فرمایا ۱؎ اور اسماعیل علیہ السلام کی اولاد میں سے بنی کنانہ کا، اور بنی کنانہ میں سے قریش کا، اور قریش میں سے بنی ہاشم کا، اور بنی ہاشم میں سے میرا انتخاب فرمایا ”۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Waathilah bin Asqa' (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Allah ne Ibrahim alaihis-salam ki aulaad mein se Ismail alaihis-salam ka intikhab farmaya, aur Ismail alaihis-salam ki aulaad mein se Bani Kinanah ka, aur Bani Kinanah mein se Quraysh ka, aur Quraysh mein se Bani Hashim ka, aur Bani Hashim mein se mera intikhab farmaya." Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: Yeh hadees hasan sahih hai.
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَّادُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَى مِنْ وَلَدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِسْمَاعِيل، وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيل بَنِي كِنَانَةَ، وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ قُرَيْشًا، وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، وَاصْطَفَانِي مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
