Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 17023
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Amr bin Abas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: “Whoever shoots an arrow, whether it hits the target or misses, it is as if he has freed a slave from the progeny of Prophet Ishmael (peace be upon him).”.

حضرت عمرو بن عبسہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے سنا کہ جو شخص کوئی تیر پھینکے خواہ وہ نشانے پر لگے یا چوک جائے تو یہ ایسے ہے جیسے حضرت اسماعیل علیہ السلام کی اولاد میں سے کسی غلام کو آزاد کرنا۔
Hazrat Amr bin Abasa RA se marvi hai ke maine Nabi Kareem SAW ko ye farmate suna ke jo shakhs koi teer phenke chahe wo nishane par lage ya chook jaye to ye aise hai jaise Hazrat Ismail AS ki aulad mein se kisi ghulam ko azad karna.
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ شَهْرَ بْنَ حَوْشَبٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو ظَبْيَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبَسَةَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: " أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَبَلَغَ مُخْطِئًا أَوْ مُصِيبًا فَلَهُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ كَرَقَبَةٍ أَعْتَقَهَا مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ" .
