Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5765
Taoos relates that initially, Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was of the opinion that women could not go for Jihad. However, later, I heard him say that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had given permission to women as well.

طاؤس کہتے ہیں کہ ابتداء میں سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کی رائے یہ تھی کہ عورت جہاد کے لئے نہیں جا سکتی لیکن میں نے بعد میں انہیں یہ کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ نبی ﷺ نے عورتوں کو بھی اجازت دی ہے۔
Taous kehte hain ki ibtida mein Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ki rae yeh thi ki aurat jihad ke liye nahin ja sakti lekin mein ne baad mein unhen yeh kehte hue suna ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne auraton ko bhi ijazat di hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ , يَقُولُ فِي أَوَّلِ أَمْرِهِ: إِنَّهَا لَا تَنْفِرُ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ , يَقُولُ:" رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَهُنَّ".
