Chapter on whoever refrains from adorning with silver and sees the ornament of the sword from treasures.
باب من تورع عن التحلي بالفضة ورأى حلية السيف من الكنوز.
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 7579
Sulaiman bin Habib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard from Abu Umama (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: By Allah! The nation (Muslims) achieved many victories, and the adornment of their swords was not with gold and silver, but with wood, lead, and iron.

(٧٥٧٩) سلیمان بن حبیب (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابو امامہ (رض) سے سنا کہ اللہ کی قسم ! قوم کو بہت سی فتوحات ہوئیں ، ان کی تلواروں کی تزئین سونے اور چاندی سے نہیں، تھی بلکہ لکڑی، سیسہ اور لوہے سے تھی۔
Suleman bin Habib (RA) farmate hain ke maine Abu Umama (RA) se suna ke Allah ki qasam! Qom ko bohat si fatah hui, un ki talwaron ki tajheen sone aur chandi se nahi, thi balke lakdi, seesa aur lohe se thi.
Muhammad bin Ziyad said: I saw a man asking Abu Umama, "What do you think, is inlaying a sword with jewels considered hoarding wealth?" Abu Umama replied, "Yes." Then he added, "However, I will only narrate what I have heard (from the Prophet)."

(٧٥٨٠) محمد بن زیاد فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے ایک آدمی کو دیکھا جو ابو امامہ سے پوچھ رہاتھا کہ آپ کا کیا خیال ہے ، تلوار کو مرصع کرنا کنز ہے یا نہیں ؟ تو ابو امامہ نے کہا : ہاں، پھر انھوں نے کہا : میں تو صرف وہ بیان کروں گا جو میں نے سنا۔
Muhammad bin Ziyad farmate hain ki maine ek aadmi ko dekha jo Abu Umama se pooch raha tha ki aap ka kya khayal hai, talwar ko murasa karna kanz hai ya nahin? To Abu Umama ne kaha: Haan, phir unhon ne kaha: Main to sirf woh bayan karunga jo maine suna.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) looked at Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and saw that he had a sword with a silver handle. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'Whoever leaves behind silver or gold, he will be branded with it on the Day of Resurrection.'" He said, "So he threw it away."

(٧٥٨٢) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ابو ذر (رض) نے ابوہریرہ (رض) کی طرف دیکھا تو ان کے پاس تلوار تھی جو چاندی سے مرصع تھی تو انھوں نے کہا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ جو شخص بھی چاندی یا سونا چھوڑ کے جائے گا اسے قیامت کے دن اسی سے داغا جائے گا۔ وہ کہتے ہیں : انھوں نے اسے پھینک دیا۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) farmate hain ki Abu Zar (RA) ne Abu Huraira (RA) ki taraf dekha to unke pas talwar thi jo chandi se murasaa thi to unhon ne kaha : main ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko farmate huye suna hai ki jo shakhs bhi chandi ya sona chhor ke jayega use qayamat ke din usi se daagha jayega. Wo kahte hain : unhon ne use phenk diya.
Yahya bin 'Abd al-Wahid narrates that I heard from Abu Mujib that the sheath of Abu Hurairah's (may Allah be pleased with him) sword was made of silver. Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) forbade him from it, saying: I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that whoever leaves silver or gold (i.e., does not spend it in the way of Allah) will be branded with it. Imam Bukhari says that there is consideration in this.

(٧٥٨٣) یحییٰ بن عبد الواحد فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابو مجیب سے سنا کہ ابو ہریرہ (رض) کی تلوار کی نعل چاندی کی تھی۔ ابو ذر (رض) نے انھیں اس سے منع کیا اور کہا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا کہ جس نے چاندی یا سونا چھوڑا تو اسے اس سے داغا جائے گا۔ امام بخاری فرماتے ہیں کہ اس میں نظر ہے۔
7583 Yahya bin Abd al-Wahid farmate hain ki mainne Abu Mujib se suna ki Abu Hurairah (RA) ki talwar ki nal chandi ki thi. Abu Dharr (RA) ne unhen is se mana kiya aur kaha: Mainne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suna ki jisne chandi ya sona chhoda to use is se daga jaega. Imam Bukhari farmate hain ki is mein nazar hai.
