Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no Zakat on less than five Awqiya of silver, nor on less than five Wasq of dates, nor on less than five camels."
Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) indicates that if a free Muslim possesses one of these three things - five camels, five Awqiya of silver, or five Wasq of dates - then Zakat will be obligatory on his wealth, provided that it is his personal wealth. However, there is no Zakat on the wealth of a slave, because if the slave is in need, then there is no Zakat on him."

(٧٣٣٧) ابو سعید خدری (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : پانچ اوقیہ سے کم چاندی میں زکوۃ نہیں اور پانچ وسق سے کم کھجوروں میں بھی زکوۃ نہیں اور پانچ اونٹ سے کم میں بھی زکوۃ نہیں۔
امام شافعی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا فرمان اس پر دلالت کرتا ہے کہ پانچ اونٹ پانچ اوقیہ چاندی یا پانچ وسق کھجوریں، ان میں سے ایک چیز آزاد مسلمان کے پاس ہوگی تو اس کے مال میں زکوۃ ہوگی، جو اس کا ذاتی مال ہوگا مگر مالک کے مال میں، کیونکہ مالک اگر محتاج ہو تو اس پر زکوۃ نہیں۔
(7337) Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Panch auqiya se kam chandi mein zakat nahin aur panch wasaq se kam khajuron mein bhi zakat nahin aur panch unt se kam mein bhi zakat nahin.
Imam Shafi (RA) farmate hain: Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka farman is par dalalat karta hai ke panch unt panch auqiya chandi ya panch wasaq khajoorein, in mein se ek cheez azad musalman ke paas hogi to is ke maal mein zakat hogi, jo is ka zaati maal hoga magar malik ke maal mein, kyunki malik agar muhtaaj ho to is par zakat nahin.
Yusuf bin Mahak narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Increase the wealth of the orphan, or he said: the wealth of the orphans, lest it be consumed by Zakat or it vanishes."

(٧٣٣٨) یوسف بن ماہک بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : یتیم یا فرمایا : یتیموں کے مال میں اضافہ کرو کہ اسے زکوۃ ہی نہ کھاجائے یا ختم نہ کر دے۔
Yousuf bin Mahak bayan karte hain keh Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Yateem ya farmaya : Yateemon ke maal mein izafa karo keh usey zakat hi na kha jaye ya khatam na kar de.
Amr bin Shu'aib (RA) reported from his father and he from his grandfather that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever takes care of an orphan and has wealth, he should trade with it for him and should not leave it till the Sadaqah (Zakah) consumes it."

(٧٣٣٩) عمرو بن شعیب (رض) اپنے والد سے اور وہ اپنے دادا سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو کوئی یتیم کا سرپرست بنے اور اس کا مال بھی ہو تو اسے چاہیے کہ وہ اس میں تجارت کرے، اسے ایسے نہ چھوڑ دے کہ زکوۃ ہی کھاجائے۔
Amr bin Shoaib apne walid se aur wo apne dada se naql farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Jo koi yateem ka sarparast bane aur uska maal bhi ho to use chahiye ke wo usme tijarat kare, use aise na chhor de ke zakat hi kha jaye.
Abu Mahjan or Ibn Mahjan narrated that Uthman bin Abi Al-'As came to Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) so Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "What is the price of your land? For I have the wealth of orphans. I fear that Zakat will consume it." He said: So he gave that wealth to him.

(٧٣٤١) ابو محجن یا ابن محجن فرماتے ہیں کہ عثمان بن ابی العاص عمربن خطاب (رض) کے پاس آئے تو عمر (رض) نے ان سے کہا : تیری زمین کی کیا قیمت ہے ؟ کیونکہ میرے پاس یتیم کا مال ہے۔ قریب ہے کہ زکوۃ اسے ختم کر دے۔ فرماتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے وہ مال اسے دے دیا۔
Abu Muhajjan ya Ibn Muhajjan farmate hain ke Usman bin Abi al-As Umar bin Khattab (RA) ke pass aye to Umar (RA) ne unse kaha : Teri zameen ki kya qeemat hai ? Kyunki mere pass yateem ka maal hai. Qareeb hai ke zakat use khatam kar de. Farmate hain ke unhon ne woh maal use de diya.
(7342) Habib ibn Abi Thabit narrated from some children of Abu Rafi', that they said: 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give the Zakat of our wealth and we were orphans.

(٧٣٤٢) حبیب بن ابی ثابت ابو رافع کے بعض بچوں سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے کہا : علی (رض) ہمارے مال کی زکوۃ دیا کرتے تھے اور ہم یتیم تھے۔
(7342) Habib bin Abi Sabit Abu Raaf ke baz aulad se naql farmate hain ke unhon ne kaha: Ali (Raz) hamare mal ki zakat diya karte the aur hum yateem the.
Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) allotted a piece of land to Abu Rafi'. When Abu Rafi' died, 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sold it for eighty thousand and gave it to 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). He used to pay its Zakat. When the sons of Abu Rafi' took possession of it, they found it less. They came to 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and informed him. 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Has its Zakat been calculated?" They said, "No." Then, when the Zakat was calculated, they found it in full. 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Do you think that I would have wealth with me and not pay its Zakat?"

(٧٣٤٣) ابو رافع (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ابو رافع کے لیے زمین مختص کی جب ابو رافع فوت ہوگئے تو عمر (رض) نے اسے اسی ہزار میں فروخت کیا اور وہ علی (رض) کو دیے ، وہ اس کی زکوۃ دیا کرتے تھے اور جب ابو رافع کے بیٹوں نے قبضے میں لیا تو اسے تھوڑا پایا تو وہ علی (رض) کے پاس آئے اور انھوں نے ان کو خبر دی تو علی (رض) نے فرمایا : اس کی زکوۃ کا حساب لگایا ہے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : نہیں ، پھر جب زکوۃ کا حساب لگایا تو اسے پورا پوراپایا، تو علی (رض) نے فرمایا : تمہارا کیا خیال ہے کہ میرے پاس مال ہو اور میں اس کی زکوۃ ادا نہ کروں۔
(7343) Abu Rafi (raz) farmate hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Abu Rafi ke liye zameen mukhtas ki jab Abu Rafi foot hogaye to Umar (raz) ne use assi hazaar mein farokht kiya aur wo Ali (raz) ko diye, wo uski zakat diya karte the aur jab Abu Rafi ke beton ne qabze mein liya to use thora paya to wo Ali (raz) ke pass aaye aur unhon ne unko khabar di to Ali (raz) ne farmaya: uski zakat ka hisab lagaya hai? Unhon ne kaha: nahin, phir jab zakat ka hisab lagaya to use poora poora paya, to Ali (raz) ne farmaya: tumhara kya khayal hai ki mere pass maal ho aur mein uski zakat ada na karoon.
'Abdur Rahman bin Abu Laila narrated that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to pay the Zakat of the wealth of Abu Rafi's (may Allah be pleased with him) sons. When Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) gave them the wealth, they found it less. They said: This wealth is less. So Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: What do you think? Do you think that the wealth is with me and I will not pay its Zakat?

(٧٣٤٤) عبد الرحمن بن ابو لیلیٰ فرماتے ہیں کہ علی (رض) ابو رافع (رض) کے بیٹوں کے مال کی زکوۃ دیا کرتے تھے۔ جب وہ مال علی (رض) نے ان کو دیا تو انھوں نے اسے کم پایا تو انھوں نے کہا : یہ مال کم ہے تو علی (رض) نے فرمایا : تمہارا کیا خیال ہے کہ مال میرے پاس ہو اور میں اس کی زکوۃ نہ دوں۔
7344 Abdur Rahman bin Abu Laila farmate hain ki Ali (RA) Abu Rafi (RA) ke beton ke maal ki zakat diya karte the. Jab wo maal Ali (RA) ne unko diya to unhon ne use kam paya to unhon ne kaha: Ye maal kam hai to Ali (RA) ne farmaya: Tumhara kya khayal hai ki maal mere pass ho aur main us ki zakat na dun.
'Abd al-Rahman ibn Qasim reported on the authority of his father that Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to visit me and my orphan brother would be in her lap, and she would take out the Zakat from our wealth.

(٧٣٤٥) عبد الرحمن بن قاسم اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ سیدہ عائشہ (رض) میرے پاس آیا کرتیں اور میرا ایک یتیم بھائی ان کی گود میں تھا اور وہ ہمارے مال میں سے زکوۃ نکالا کرتی تھیں۔
(7345) abdul rehman bin qasim apne walid se naql farmate hain ki sayyidah ayesha (raz) mere pas aya karti thin aur mera ek yatim bhai un ki goud mein tha aur wo hamare mal mein se zakat nikala karti thin.
(7347) Narrated Abdullah bin Mas'ud (RA): Whoever takes charge of the property of an orphan and keeps an account of it for several years, should, when returning the property to him, inform him that so much Zakat was due on it. He may pay the Zakat if he wishes, or he may not pay if he does not wish.
Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “In this debate that he had with his opponent, his response to this effect was that you think that this is not proven from Ibn Mas'ud for two reasons: one is that it is disconnected, and the other is that the one who narrated it has no memory. The Sheikh said: “The reason for its disconnection is that the Mujahid did not find Ibn Mas'ud (RA).”

(٧٣٤٧) عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ جو یتیم کے مال کا ولی بنے اور کئی سالوں تک اسے شمار کرے تو جب مال اسے لوٹائے تو اسے آگاہ کر دے کہ اتنی زکوۃ بنتی ہے۔ اگر وہ چاہے تو زکوۃ ادا کرے اگر نہ چاہے تو نہ ادا کرے۔
امام شافعی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : اس مناظرے میں جو ان کا مخالف سے ہوا اس اثر کے بارے ان کا جواب یہ تھا کہ تیرا خیال ہے کہ یہ ابن مسعود سے ثابت نہیں دو اعتبار سے : ایک یہ کہ وہ منقطع ہے، دوسرا جس سے بیان کی ہے اس کا حافظہ نہیں۔ شیخ نے کہا : اس کے انقطاع کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ مجاہد نے ابن مسعود (رض) کو نہیں پایا۔
7347 Abdullah bin Masood (RA) farmate hain ke jo yateem ke maal ka wali bane aur kai saalon tak use shumaar kare to jab maal use lautaye to use aagah kar de ke itni zakat banti hai. Agar wo chahe to zakat ada kare agar nah chahe to nah ada kare.
Imam Shafi (rah) farmate hain: is munazre mein jo un ka mukhalif se hua is asar ke bare un ka jawab ye tha ke tera khayal hai ke ye Ibn Masood se sabit nahin do aitbaar se: ek ye ke wo munkataa hai, doosra jis se bayan ki hai us ka hafizah nahin. Sheikh ne kaha: is ke inqita ki wajah ye hai ke mujahid ne Ibn Masood (RA) ko nahin paya.
