Chapter: A Woman Attending the Mosque for Prayer Should Not Wear Perfume
باب المرأة تشهد المسجد للصلاة لا تمس طيبا

Basar bin Sa'd narrates from Zaynab Thaqafiyyah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When any one of you attends the 'Isha' (night) prayer, he should not apply perfume."

(٥٣٧٣) بسر بن سعد زینب ثقفیہ سے روایت فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تم میں سے کوئی عشا کی نماز میں حاضر ہو تو وہ خوشبو نہ لگائے۔
Basar bin Saad Zainab Saqafi se riwayat karte hain ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Jab tum mein se koi isha ki namaz mein hazir ho to wo khushbu na lagaye.
Basar bin Saad narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No woman who applies perfume should attend the evening prayer with us."

(٥٣٧٤) بسر بن سعد حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو عورت بخور خوشبو لگائے وہ ہمارے ساتھ عشا کی نماز میں حاضر نہ ہو۔
Basar bin Saad Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) se riwayat farmate hain keh Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Jo aurat bukhoor khushbu lagaye woh hamare saath isha ki namaz mein hazir na ho.
Musa bin Yasar narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he met a woman who was wearing perfume. He asked her: "O maid of the Most Powerful! Are you going to the mosque?" She replied: "Yes." Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "You are wearing perfume?" She said: "Yes." Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Go back; for I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'The woman who applies perfume and comes to the mosque, and her fragrance is noticeable, then her prayer will not be accepted until she returns and performs Ghusl (ritual bath).'"

(٥٣٧٥) موسیٰ بن یسار حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ ان کو ایک عورتملی ، اس سے خوشبو آرہی تھی۔ انھوں نے پوچھا : اے جبار کی بندی ! تو مسجد کا ارادہ رکھتی ہے ؟ کہنے لگی : جی ہاں۔ ابوہریرہ (رض) نے فرمایا : تو نے خوشبو لگا رکھی ہے ؟ کہنے لگی : ہاں۔ ابوہریرہ (رض) نی فرمایا : واپس لوٹ جا؛کیونکہ میں نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا ہے کہ جو عورت خوشبو لگا کر مسجد کو آئے اور اس سے خوشبو آرہی ہو تو وہ واپس پلٹ کر غسل کرے تب اللہ اس کی نماز قبول کرے گا۔
Moosa bin Ya'sar Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) se naqal farmate hain ke unko ek aurat mili, us se khushbu aa rahi thi. Unhon ne poocha: Ae jabbar ki bandi! Tu masjid ka irada rakhti hai? Kehne lagi: Ji haan. Abu Huraira (RA) ne farmaya: Tu ne khushbu laga rakhi hai? Kehne lagi: Haan. Abu Huraira (RA) ne farmaya: Wapas laut ja; kyunki maine Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suna hai ke jo aurat khushbu laga kar masjid ko aaye aur us se khushbu aa rahi ho to wo wapas palat kar ghusl kare tab Allah uski namaz qubool kare ga.
'Abdur-Rahman bin Harith bin Abi 'Ubaid, who was among the elders of Kufa and a freed slave of Abu Rafi', reported from his grandfather: “I left the mosque with Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) after the Fajr prayer, when we met a woman who had applied perfume. I had never smelled such a fragrance before. Abu Hurairah greeted her with peace, and she responded. Abu Hurairah asked, ‘Where are you going?’ She replied, ‘To the mosque.’ He asked, ‘Why have you applied perfume?’ She replied, ‘For the mosque.’ Abu Hurairah said, ‘By Allah!’ She said, ‘Yes, by Allah!’ Abu Hurairah said, ‘By Allah!’ The woman also said, ‘By Allah!’ Then Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, ‘I heard my beloved Abu’l-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: “The prayer of a woman who applies perfume for someone other than her husband will not be accepted until she performs Ghusl (ritual bath) like that of Janabah (sexual impurity). So, the woman went back, performed Ghusl and prayed.”’

(٥٣٧٦) عبد الرحمن بن حارث بن ابی عبید جو کو ثی کے شیوخ میں سے ہیں اور ابورہم غفاری کے غلام ہیں ، اپنے دادا سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ میں ابوہریرہ (رض) کے ساتھ چاشت کے وقت مسجد سے نکلا تو ہمیں ایک عورت ملی جس نے عطر لگا رکھا تھا، میں نے اس طرح کی خوشبو پہلے کبھی نہ سونگھی تھی۔ ابوہریرہ (رض) نے اس کو سلام کیا تو اس نے جواب دیا۔ ابوہریرہ (رض) نے پوچھا : تو کہاں کا ارادہ رکھتی ہے ؟ کہنے لگی : مسجد کا ۔ ابوہریرہ (رض) نے پوچھا : تو نے کیوں خوشبو لگا رکھی ہے ؟ کہنے لگی : مسجد کے لیے ۔ ابوہریرہ (رض) نے فرمایا : کیا اللہ کی قسم ! کہنے لگی : ہاں اللہ کی قسم ! ابوہریرہ (رض) نے فرمایا : اللہ کی قسم ! تو عورتنی بھی کہا : اللہ کی قسم ! پھر ابوہریرہ نے (رض) فرمایا : میں نے اپنے محبوب ابو القاسم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا کہ ایسی عورت جو اپنے خاوند کے بغیر کسی کے لیے خوشبو کا استعمال کرتی ہیں تو اس کی نماز قبول نہیں کی جائے گی یہاں تک کہ وہ غسل جنابت کی طرح غسل کرلے تو واپس پلٹی اور غسل کر کے نماز پڑھی۔
(5376) Abdul Rahman bin Haris bin Abi Ubaid jo Kufi ke shuyookh mein se hain aur Ibrahim Gifari ke gulam hain, apne dada se naql farmate hain ki main Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) ke sath chasht ke waqt masjid se nikla to humain ek aurat mili jis ne itr laga rakha tha, maine is tarah ki khushbu pehle kabhi na soonnghi thi. Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne us ko salam kiya to us ne jawab diya. Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne poocha: to kahan ka irada rakhti hai? Kehne lagi: masjid ka. Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne poocha: to ne kyon khushbu laga rakhi hai? Kehne lagi: masjid ke liye. Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne farmaya: kya Allah ki qasam! Kehne lagi: haan Allah ki qasam! Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne farmaya: Allah ki qasam! to aurat... ne bhi kaha: Allah ki qasam! Phir Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne farmaya: maine apne mahboob Abu al Qasim ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suna ki aisi aurat jo apne khaavand ke baghair kisi ke liye khushbu ka istemaal karti hain to us ki namaz qabool nahin ki jaye gi yahan tak ki woh ghusl e janabat ki tarah ghusl kar le to wapas palti aur ghusl kar ke namaz parhi.
Abu Salama reported on the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Do not prevent the female slaves of Allah from (going to) the mosques, even if they go out having applied a little perfume.

(٥٣٧٧) ابو سلمہ ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم اللہ کی بندیوں کو مساجد سے منع نہ کرو اور وہ معمولی سی خوشبو بھی لگا کر نہ نکلیں۔
(5377) Abu Salma Abu Huraira (RA) se riwayat karte hain ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Tum Allah ki bandiyon ko masajid se mana na karo aur wo mamooli si khushbu bhi laga kar na niklen.
