Chapter on One Who Pronounced the Recitation Loudly in What Deserves Secrecy Did Not Prostrate for the Prostrations of Forgetfulness

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 3863
Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would recite (the Quran) in the first two rak'ahs of Dhuhr and 'Asr, and sometimes he would let us hear a verse. He would lengthen the first rak'ah and shorten the second. And he would recite aloud in the first two rak'ahs of Maghrib.

(٣٨٦٣) ابو قتادہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ظہر اور عصر کی پہلی دو رکعتوں میں قراءت کرتے تھے اور بعض اوقات ہمیں ایک آیت سنا دیتے۔ آپ پہلی رکعت لمبی کرتے اور دوسری چھوٹی کرتے اور مغرب کی پہلی دو رکعتوں میں جہری قرات کرتے تھے۔
3863 Abu Qatada (RA) bayan karte hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) Zuhar aur Asr ki pehli do rakaton mein qirat karte thay aur baaz auqat humain aik ayat suna dete. Aap pehli rakat lambi karte aur dusri chhoti karte aur Maghrib ki pehli do rakaton mein jahri qirat karte thay.
(3864) (a) Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite Surah Fatihah and two other surahs in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and Asr prayers. Sometimes, he would let us hear a verse or two (from the additional surahs). He used to make the first rak'ah longer.
(b) We have already mentioned the narration of Abu Abdullah Sanabhi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) reciting Surah Fatihah and this verse in the third rak'ah of Maghrib: { رَبَّنَا لاَ تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ ہَدَیْتَنَا وَہَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْکَ رَحْمَۃً إِنَّکَ أَنْتَ الْوَہَّابُ } [Al-Imran: 8] "Our Lord! Do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower."

(٣٨٦٤) (ا) ابوقتادہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ظہر اور عصر کی پہلی دو رکعتوں میں سورة فاتحہ اور اس کے ساتھ دو سورتیں پڑھتے تھے اور بعض اوقات ہمیں ایک آدھ آیت سنا دیا کرتے تھے۔ آپ پہلی رکعت لمبی کرتے تھے۔
(ب) ابوعبداللہ صنابحی (رض) کی روایت ہم بیان کرچکے ہیں کہ انھوں نے حضرت ابوبکر صدیق (رض) کو مغرب کی تیسری رکعت میں سورة فاتحہ اور یہ آیت پڑھتے سنا : { رَبَّنَا لاَ تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ ہَدَیْتَنَا وَہَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْکَ رَحْمَۃً إِنَّکَ أَنْتَ الْوَہَّابُ } [آل عمران : ٨] ” اے ہمارے رب ! ہمارے دلوں کو ٹیڑھا نہ کر بعد اس کے کہ تو نے ہمیں ہدایت عطا کردی ہے اور ہمیں اپنی خصوصی رحمت عطا کر۔ بیشک تو سب سے زیادہ عطا کرنے والا ہے۔ “
(3864) (a) Abu Qatada (RA) bayan karte hain ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Zuhar aur Asr ki pehli do rakaton mein Surah Fatiha aur iske saath do suratain parhte thay aur baaz auqaat hamen ek aadh ayat suna diya karte thay. Aap pehli rakat lambi karte thay.
(b) Abu Abdullah Sanabi (RA) ki riwayat hum bayan kar chuke hain ke unhon ne Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) ko Maghrib ki teesri rakat mein Surah Fatiha aur yeh ayat parhte suna: { Rabbana la tuzigh qulubana ba'da iz hadaytana wa hab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka antal wahhab } [Aal-e-Imran: 8] "Aye hamare Rabb! Hamare dilon ko terha na kar baad iske ke Tu ne hamen hidayat ata kardi hai aur hamen apni khususi rahmat ata kar. Beshak Tu sab se zyada ata karne wala hai."
(3865) (a) Abdullah bin Zayd said: I heard Abdullah (RA) reciting (Quran) in Zuhr and Asr prayers.
(b) Imam Shafi'i (RA) said: In our view, it is not obligatory due to forgetfulness.

(٣٨٦٥) (ا) عبداللہ بن زیاد فرماتے ہیں : میں نے عبداللہ (رض) کو ظہر اور عصر میں قراءت کرتے ہوئے سنا ہے۔
(ب) امام شافعی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : ہمارے نزدیک یہ بھول کر واجب نہیں کرتی۔
(3865) (a) Abdullah bin Ziad farmate hain : maine Abdullah (rz) ko Zuhar aur Asr mein qirat karte hue suna hai.
(b) Imam Shafi (rh) farmate hain : hamare nazdeek yeh bhul kar wajib nahin karti.
(3866) (a) Narrated Sa'id bin 'Aas (RA): He recited the Qur'an aloud in Zuhr or 'Asr prayer. The people said, "Subhan Allah!" but he continued his recitation. When he finished the prayer, he said: "Every prayer has recitation, and I was not induced to do so by opposing the Sunnah, but I started reciting unintentionally, and I did not consider it good to interrupt the recitation."
(b) It is reported on the authority of Qatadah (RA) that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (RA) recited the Qur'an in Zuhr and 'Asr prayers but did not perform the bowing (ruku') and prostration (sujud).
Similar is reported from Khabbat bin Aratt (RA). It is also narrated from 'Umar (RA) and Abdullah bin Mas'ud (RA).

(٣٨٦٦) (ا) سعید بن عاص (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ انھوں نے ظہر یا عصر کی نماز میں جہری قراءت کی۔ لوگ سبحان اللہ کہنے لگے مگر انھوں نے اپنی قراءت جاری رکھی۔ جب انھوں نے نماز مکمل کرلی تو فرمایا : ہر نماز کی قراءت ہوتی ہے اور مجھے ایسا کرنے پر سنت کی مخالفت نے نہیں ابھارا بلکہ میں نے بھول کر قراءت شروع کردی تھی، لیکن میں نے قراءت کو منقطع کرنا اچھا نہ سمجھا۔
(ب) قتادہ (رض) کے واسطے سے بیان کیا جاتا ہے کہ سیدنا انس بن مالک (رض) نے ظہر اور عصر کی نماز میں قراءت کی اور سہو سجدے نہیں کیے۔
اسی کی مثل خبات بن ارت (رض) سے بھی منقول ہے اور اس بارے میں عمر (رض) اور عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) سے بھی منقول ہے۔
(3866) (a) Saeed bin Aas (RA) se riwayat hai ki unhon ne Zuhr ya Asr ki namaz mein jahri qirat ki. Log Subhan Allah kehnay lagay magar unhon ne apni qirat jari rakhi. Jab unhon ne namaz mukammal karli to farmaya: Har namaz ki qirat hoti hai aur mujhe aisa karne per Sunnat ki mukhalfat ne nahi ubhaara balkeh main ne bhool kar qirat shuru kardi thi, lekin main ne qirat ko munqata karna achha nah samjha.
(b) Qatadah (RA) ke waste se bayan kya jata hai ki Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (RA) ne Zuhr aur Asr ki namaz mein qirat ki aur sahu sajde nahi kiye.
Isi ki misl Khabbat bin Aratt (RA) se bhi manqol hai aur is baray mein Umar (RA) aur Abdullah bin Masood (RA) se bhi manqol hai.
