Chapter on Praying with Impurity or Filth on Clothes or Shoes Without Knowledge, Then Becoming Aware
باب من صلى وفي ثوبه أو نعله أذى أو خبث لم يعلم به، ثم علم به
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4086
It is narrated by Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed with his shoes on, and the people also prayed with their shoes on. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took off his shoes, and the people also took off their shoes while in prayer. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer, he said: “What made you take off your shoes during the prayer?” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, we saw you doing it, so we did the same.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to me and informed me that there was some dirt on them. So when one of you comes to the mosque, he should look. If he sees any dirt on his shoes, he should remove them; otherwise, he may pray with his shoes on.”

(٤٠٨٦) ابو سعید (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے جوتوں سمیت نماز پڑھائی اور لوگوں نے بھی اپنے جوتوں میں ہی نماز پڑھ لی، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے جوتے اتار دیے، لوگوں نے بھی اپنے جوتے نماز کی حالت میں ہی اتار دیے۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پوری کی تو فرمایا : نماز کی حالت میں کس چیز نے تمہیں جوتے اتارنے پر ابھارا ؟ انھوں نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! ہم نے آپ کو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا تو ہم نے بھی ویسا ہی کیا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : مجھے جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) نے خبر دی تھی کہ اس میں گندگی ہے، جب تم میں سے کوئی مسجد میں آئے تو اسے دیکھنا چاہیے، اگر تو وہ اپنے جوتوں میں گندگی دیکھے تو اتار دے، ورنہ جوتوں میں ہی نماز پڑھ لے۔
(4086) Abu Saeed (Raz) se riwayat hai ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne jooton samet namaz parhai aur logon ne bhi apne jooton mein hi namaz parh li, phir Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apne joote utar diye, logon ne bhi apne joote namaz ki halat mein hi utar diye. Jab Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne namaz poori ki to farmaya: Namaz ki halat mein kis cheez ne tumhen joote utarne par ubhara? Unhon ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Humne aap ko karte hue dekha to humne bhi waisa hi kiya, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Mujhe Jibraeel (Alaihissalam) ne khabar di thi ki is mein gandagi hai, jab tum mein se koi masjid mein aaye to use dekhna chahie, agar to woh apne jooton mein gandagi dekhe to utar de, warna jooton mein hi namaz parh le.
Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed and took off his shoes. The people also took off their shoes. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished (the prayer), he asked: "Why did you take off your shoes?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah! We saw you taking them off so we also took them off." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to me and informed me that there was some filth on my shoes. So when any of you comes to the mosque, he should examine his shoes, and if he finds any filth on them, he should rub them on the ground and then pray in them."

(٤٠٨٧) ابوسعیدخدری (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پڑھائی اور جوتے اتار دیے، لوگوں نے بھی اپنے جوتے اتار دیے، جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فارغ ہوئے تو پوچھا : تم نے اپنے جوتے کیوں اتارے ؟ “ انھوں نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! ہم نے دیکھا کہ آپ نے اتارے تو ہم نے بھی اتار دیے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : میرے پاس جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) آئے اور مجھے خبر دی کہ جوتوں میں گندگی ہے۔ جب تم میں سے کوئی مسجد میں آئے تو جوتوں کو الٹ پلٹ کر ان میں گندگی دیکھ لے، اگر ان میں گندگی ہو تو زمین کے ساتھ انھیں رگڑ لے، پھر ان میں نماز پڑھے۔
(4087) Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) se riwayat hai ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne namaz parhai aur joote utaar diye, logon ne bhi apne joote utaar diye, jab Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) farigh huye to poochha : tum ne apne joote kyun utaare? Unhon ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasool! hum ne dekha ki aap ne utaare to hum ne bhi utaar diye. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: mere pass Jibraeel (Alaihissalam) aaye aur mujhe khabar di ki jooton mein gandagi hai. Jab tum mein se koi masjid mein aaye to jooton ko ulat palat kar un mein gandagi dekh le, agar un mein gandagi ho to zameen ke sath unhen ragarh le, phir un mein namaz parhe.
Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed wearing shoes, then he took them off. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about it, so he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Gabriel came to me and informed me that there was some filth on them. When you come to the mosque, check your shoes, and if there is anything on them, then clean them.

(٤٠٨٨) ابو سعیدخدری (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے جوتوں سمیت نماز پڑھائی، پھر ان کو اتار دیا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے پوچھا گیا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : میرے پاس جبرائیل آئے اور مجھے خبر دی کہ ان میں گندگی ہے۔ جب تم مسجد میں آؤ تو اپنے جوتوں کو دیکھ لیا کرو۔ اگر کوئی چیز لگی ہو تو اسے صاف کر دو ۔
(4088) Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) farmate hain ke Nabi (SAW) ne jooton samet namaz parhai, phir in ko utar diya. Aap (SAW) se poocha gaya to aap (SAW) ne farmaya: mere paas Jibraeel aaye aur mujhe khabar di ke in mein gandagi hai. Jab tum masjid mein aao to apne jooton ko dekh liya karo. Agar koi cheez lagi ho to use saaf kar do.
Zaid bin Aslam said: I saw Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) praying in a blood-stained garment. Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) came and took off his garment and put his own garment on him, while he continued to pray.

(٤٠٨٩) زید بن اسلم فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) کو خون آلود چادر میں نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا۔ نافع (رح) آئے اور ان سے چادر اتار کر اپنی چادر ان کے اوپر ڈال دی اور وہ نماز میں مصروف رہے۔
Zaid bin Aslam farmate hain ki main ne Abdullah bin Umar (RA) ko khoon alood chadar mein namaz parhte huye dekha. Nafi (RA) aaye aur un se chadar utar kar apni chadar un ke upar daal di aur wo namaz mein masroof rahe.
Salim (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was praying when he saw blood on his clothes. He stopped praying and gestured towards them. They brought him water and he washed the garment, completed the rest of his prayer and did not repeat it.
The Shaykh (scholar) said: This was the old opinion of Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) because he used the narrations of Abu Sa'eed and Ibn 'Umar as evidence. However, he later retracted this opinion and said that he should repeat the prayer, whether or not he was aware of the impurity on his clothes beforehand. This is like the ruling on wudu (ablution).

(٤٠٩٠) سالم (رح) سے روایت ہے کہ ابن عمر (رض) نماز پڑھ رہے تھے، انھوں نے اپنے کپڑوں میں خون دیکھا تو نماز کو چھوڑ دیا اور ان کی طرف اشارہ کیا، وہ پانی لے کر آئے، انھوں نے کپڑے کو دھویا اور باقی نماز مکمل کی اور نماز کو دوبارہ نہیں لوٹایا۔
شیخ فرماتے ہیں : امام شافعی (رح) کا قدیم قول یہی ہے؛ کیونکہ انھوں نے ابو سعید اور ابن عمر کی روایات سے دلیل لی ہے، لیکن بعد میں رجوع کرلیا، فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ نماز کا اعادہ کرے گا اسے پہلے سے اپنے کپڑوں میں (ناپاکی کا) علم ہو یا نہ ہو۔ جیسے وضوء کا حکم ہے۔
(4090) Salim (RA) se riwayat hai ki Ibn Umar (RA) namaz parh rahe the, unhon ne apne kapron mein khoon dekha to namaz ko chhor diya aur un ki taraf ishara kiya, woh pani lekar aaye, unhon ne kapre ko dhoya aur baqi namaz mukammal ki aur namaz ko dobara nahin laulaya.
Sheikh farmate hain : Imam Shafai (RA) ka qadeem qaul yahi hai; kyunki unhon ne Abu Saeed aur Ibn Umar ki riwayat se daleel li hai, lekin baad mein ruju karliya, farmate hain ki woh namaz ka eada karega use pehle se apne kapron mein (napaki ka) ilm ho ya na ho. Jaise wazu ka hukm hai.
(4091) Narrated Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took off his shoes while praying, and the people also took off their shoes. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: "Why did you take them off?" They said: "You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took off your shoes, so we also took them off." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Gabriel (peace be upon him) informed me that there was some dirt on them."
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to complete his prayer as soon as possible in case of nosebleed or nausea, and Masrur bin Mukhram narrated that he would then repeat the prayer. He used to compare this matter to ablution.

(٤٠٩١) انس بن مالک (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز کی حالت میں جوتے اتار دیے، لوگوں نے بھی جوتے اتار دیے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پوچھا : تم نے کیوں اتارے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے جوتے اتارے تو ہم نے بھی اتار دیے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) نے مجھ کو خبر دی کہ ان میں گندگی ہے۔
ابن عمر (رض) نکسیر اور متلی کی صورت میں پہلی نماز پر ہی بنا کرلیتے اور مسور بن مخرمہ فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ نئے سرے سے نماز پڑھے۔ وہ اس مسئلہ کو وضو پر قیاس کرتے تھے۔
