It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Shihab (1699) that Sayyidina Umar bin Abdul Aziz once delayed a prayer. Urwah bin Zubair came to him and informed him that Sayyidina Mughirah bin Shubah (may Allah be pleased with him) had once delayed a prayer in Kufa. Abu Masud Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him and said, "O Mughirah! What is this? Don't you know that Jibril (peace be upon him) came and prayed, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed, then he prayed and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed, then he prayed and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed, then he prayed and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed, then he prayed and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed, then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'This is what I have been commanded with.'" Sayyidina Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Urwah (may Allah be pleased with him), "O Urwah! Do you see what he is saying? Did Jibril (peace be upon him) lead the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in prayer at its time?" Urwah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "This is how Bashir bin Abi Masud narrates from his father." Urwah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would pray the Asr prayer while the sun was still high in the sky and would be in his room before sunset."

(١٦٩٩) ابن شہاب سے روایت ہے کہ سیدنا عمر بن عبد العزیز نے ایک نماز کو مؤخر کردیا، ان کے پاس عروہ بن زبیر تشریف لائے، انھوں نے خبر دی کہ سیدنا مغیرہ بن شعبہ (رض) نے ایک دن کوفہ میں نماز مؤخرکر دی، اس پر ابو مسعود انصاری تشریف لائے اور کہا : اے مغیرہ ! یہ کیا ہے ؟ کیا نہیں تو جانتا ہے کہ جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) آئے، انھوں نے نماز پڑھی اور رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پڑھائی، پھر انھوں نے نماز پڑھی اور رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پڑھائی، پھر انھوں نے نماز پڑھی اور رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پڑھائی، پھر انھوں نے نماز پڑھی اور رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پڑھائی، پھر انھوں نے نماز پڑھی اور رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پڑھائی، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” اسی کا مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے۔ “ سیدنا عمر (رض) نے عروۃ (رض) سے کہا : اے عروہ ! دیکھ تو کیا بیان کررہا ہے ، کیا جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو نماز کے وقت اقامت کروائی ؟ عروہ (رض) نے کہا : اسی طرح بشیر بن أبی مسعود اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں۔ عروہ (رض) نے کہا : مجھے سیدہ عائشہ (رض) نے حدیث بیان کی کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) عصر کی نماز پڑھتے تھے اور سورج ظاہر ہونے سے پہلے ان کے کمرے میں ہوتا تھا۔

It is narrated on the authority of Imam Zuhri (1700) that 'Urwa bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) said to 'Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Gabriel (peace be upon him) came and led us in prayer, so I prayed with him. 'Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) said, "Fear Allah, O 'Urwa! See what you are saying!" 'Urwa said, "Bashir bin Abi Mas'ud narrated to me from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Gabriel came and led us in prayer, so I prayed with him. Then he came and led us in prayer, so I prayed with him,' until he counted five prayers.'"

(١٧٠٠) امام زہری سے روایت ہے کہ عروہ بن زبیر (رض) نے عمر بن عبد العزیز سے کہا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) آئے، انھوں نے ہماری امامت کروائی، میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز ادا کی، پھر آئے اور ہماری امامت کروائی۔ میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز ادا کی، پھر آئے اور ہماری امامت کروائی، میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز ادا کی، یہاں تک کہ پانچ نمازیں شمار کیں۔ عمر بن عبد العزیز (رح) نے کہا : اللہ سے ڈر، اے عروہ ! دیکھ تو کیا کہہ رہا ہے ؟ عروہ نے کہا : مجھ کو بشیر بن أبی مسعود نے اپنے والد سے نقل فرمایا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جبرائیل آئے اور انھوں نے ہماری امامت کروائی، میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز ادا کی، پھر آئے اور انھوں نے ہماری امامت کروائی، میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز ادا کی یہاں تک کہ پانچ نمازیں شمار کیں۔
1700 Imam Zuhri se riwayat hai ki Urwah bin Zubair (RA) ne Umar bin Abdul Aziz se kaha ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: “Jibra’il (Alaihissalam) aaye, unhon ne hamari imamat karwai, maine un ke sath namaz ada ki, phir aaye aur hamari imamat karwai. Maine un ke sath namaz ada ki, phir aaye aur hamari imamat karwai, maine un ke sath namaz ada ki, yahan tak ki panch namazain shumar keen.” Umar bin Abdul Aziz (RA) ne kaha: “Allah se dar, ae Urwah! Dekh to kya keh raha hai?” Urwah ne kaha: “Mujhe Bashir bin Abi Masood ne apne walid se naql farmaya ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Jibra’il aaye aur unhon ne hamari imamat karwai, maine un ke sath namaz ada ki, phir aaye aur unhon ne hamari imamat karwai, maine un ke sath namaz ada ki yahan tak ki panch namazain shumar keen.”
(1701) Sayyidina Umar bin Abdul Aziz was sitting on the pulpit. He had delayed Asr (afternoon prayer) somewhat. Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "Gabriel (peace be upon him) informed Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the times of prayer." Sayyidina Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Think about what you are saying." Urwah said, "I heard from Bashir bin Abi Masud Ansari, who narrated from his father, that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, 'Gabriel came and informed me about the times of prayer. I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him.' He counted the five prayers on his fingers. "And I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praying Zuhr (noon prayer) when the sun had passed its zenith and sometimes he would delay it to a time when the heat was intense. And I saw him praying Asr while the sun was still high and bright white, before it began to turn yellow. A man would return from prayer and still be able to reach Dhu al-Halifa before sunset, when its edge became dark. And sometimes he would delay it until the people had gathered. And he would pray Fajr (dawn prayer) in darkness, then once he prayed it in the light, then after that his prayer was in darkness until he passed away and did not return to make it light again."

(١٧٠١) سیدنا عمر بن عبد العزیز منبر پر بیٹھے ہوئے تھے، انھوں نے عصر کو کچھ مؤخر کردیا، ان سے عروہ بن زبیر (رض) نے کہا : جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) نے محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو نماز کے وقت کی خبر دی ہے، ان سے سیدنا عمر (رض) نے کہا : غور کر تو کیا کہہ رہا ہے ؟ عروہ نے کہا : میں نے بشیر بن أبی مسعود انصاری سے سنا، وہ اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) آئے اور انھوں نے مجھے نماز کے وقت کی خبر دی، میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی، پھر میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی، پھر میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی، پھر میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی، پھر میں نے ان کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی۔ اپنی انگلیوں پر پانچ نمازیں شمار کرتے تھے اور میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ظہر کی نماز تب پڑھتے تھے جب سورج اڈھل جاتا اور بعض اوقات اس کو مؤخر کردیتے جس وقت گرمی سخت ہوجاتی اور میں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) عصر کی نماز پڑھتے تھے اور سورج زردی کے داخل ہونے سے پہلے بلند سفید تھا ‘ آدمی نماز سے پلٹتا تو سورج غروب ہونے سے پہلے ذوالحلیفہ پہنچ سکتا تھا جس وقت کنارہ سیاہ ہوجاتا ہے اور بعض اوقات آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو مؤخر کیا، یہاں تک کہ لوگ جمع ہوجائے اور صبح کی نماز اندھیرے میں پڑھتے، پھر ایک مرتبہ نماز روشنی میں پڑھی، پھر اس کے بعد آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی نماز اندھیرے میں ہوتی تھی، یہاں تک کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فوت ہوگئے، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) دوبارہ نہیں لوٹے کہ اس کو روشن کرتے۔
1701 Syedna Umar bin Abdul Aziz mimber par baithe huye thay, unhon ne Asr ko kuchh moakhir kardiya, un se Urwah bin Zubair (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne kaha: Jibraeel (Alaihi Salam) ne Muhammad ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko namaz ke waqt ki khabar di hai, un se Syedna Umar (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne kaha: ghor kar to kya keh raha hai? Urwah ne kaha: maine Bashir bin Abi Masood Ansari se suna, woh apne walid se naqal farmate hain ki maine Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko farmate huye suna ki Jibraeel (Alaihi Salam) aaye aur unhon ne mujhe namaz ke waqt ki khabar di, maine un ke sath namaz parhi, phir maine un ke sath namaz parhi, phir maine un ke sath namaz parhi, phir maine un ke sath namaz parhi, phir maine un ke sath namaz parhi. Apni ungliyon par panch namazain shumar karte thay aur maine Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko dekha, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Zuhr ki namaz tab parhte thay jab Suraj dhal jata aur baaz auqat us ko moakhir karte jis waqt garmi sakht hojati aur maine Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko dekha, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Asr ki namaz parhte thay aur Suraj zurdi ke dakhil hone se pehle buland safaid tha ' aadmi namaz se palatta to Suraj ghurub hone se pehle Zal Halifa pohanch sakta tha jis waqt kinara siyah hojata hai aur baaz auqat Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne us ko moakhir kiya, yahan tak ki log jama hojaye aur subah ki namaz andhere mein parhte, phir ek martaba namaz roshni mein parhi, phir us ke baad Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki namaz andhere mein hoti thi, yahan tak ki Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) faut hogaye, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) dobara nahin laute ki us ko roshan karte.
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Gabriel (peace be upon him) led me in prayer twice at the House of Allah. He led me in the afternoon prayer when the sun had passed its zenith and became equal to a sandal's strap, then he led me in the evening prayer when everything's shadow became equal to itself, then he led me in the sunset prayer when the fasting people broke their fast, then he led me in the night prayer when the redness of the sunset had disappeared, then he led me in the morning prayer when eating and drinking became unlawful for the fasting person. Then he led me in the afternoon prayer the next day when every object's shadow was equal to its own length, then he led me in the evening prayer when every object's shadow became twice its length, then he led me in the sunset prayer when the fasting people broke their fast, then he led me in the night prayer in the first third of the night, then he led me in the morning prayer in brightness and turned to me and said: 'O Muhammad! This was the time of the Prophets before you (ﷺ), and between these two times is your time."

(١٧٠٢) سیدنا ابن عباس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) نے بیت اللہ کے پاس دو دفعہ میری امامت کرائی، مجھ کو ظہر کی نماز پڑھائی جب سورج ڈھل گیا اور تسمہ کے برابر ہوگیا، پھر مجھ کو عصر کی نماز پڑھائی یہاں تک کہ ہر چیز کا سایہ اس کی مثل ہوگیا، پھر مجھ کو مغرب کی نماز پڑھائی، جس وقت روزے داروں نے روزہ افطار کرلیا۔ پھر مجھ کو عشاء کی نماز پڑھائی، جب سرخی غروب ہوگئی پھر مجھ کو صبح کی نماز پڑھائی جس وقت روزے دار پر کھانا ، پینا حرام ہوگیا ‘ پھر مجھ کو اگلے دن ظہر کی نماز پڑھائی جس وقت ہر چیز کا سایہ اس کے سائے کے برابر ہوگیا۔ پھر مجھ کو عصر کے نماز پڑھائی جس وقت ہر چیز کا سایہ اس کی دو مثل ہوگیا۔ پھر مجھ کو مغرب کی نماز پڑھائی جس وقت روزے داروں نے افطار کرلیا۔ پھر مجھ کو عشا کی نماز پہلی رات کے تہائی حصے میں پڑھائی پھر مجھ کو فجر کی نماز روشنی میں پڑھائی اور میری طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور کہا : اے محمد ! یہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے پہلے انبیاء کا وقت ہے اور ان دو وقتوں کے درمیان (آپ کا) وقت ہے۔
(1702) Sayidna Ibn Abbas (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya : ” Jibrail (AS) ne Baitullah ke pass do dafa meri imamat karayi, mujh ko Zuhr ki namaz parhayi jab suraj dhal gaya aur tasme ke barabar hogaya, phir mujh ko Asr ki namaz parhayi yahan tak ki har cheez ka saya us ki misl hogaya, phir mujh ko Maghrib ki namaz parhayi, jis waqt rozedaron ne roza iftar karliya. Phir mujh ko Isha ki namaz parhayi, jab surkhi ghurub hogayi phir mujh ko Subah ki namaz parhayi jis waqt rozedar par khana , peena haram hogaya ‘ phir mujh ko agle din Zuhr ki namaz parhayi jis waqt har cheez ka saya us ke saaye ke barabar hogaya. Phir mujh ko Asr ke namaz parhayi jis waqt har cheez ka saya us ki do misl hogaya. Phir mujh ko Maghrib ki namaz parhayi jis waqt rozedaron ne iftar karliya. Phir mujh ko Isha ki namaz pehli raat ke tehai hisse mein parhayi phir mujh ko Fajr ki namaz roshni mein parhayi aur meri taraf mutawajjah huye aur kaha : Aye Muhammad ! Yeh aap (SAW) se pehle anbiya ka waqt hai aur in do waqton ke darmiyan (aap ka) waqt hai.
(1703) (a) The sage has narrated a tradition in the same sense.
(b) From Jabir bin Abdullah, Abu Mas'ud Ansari, Abdullah bin Umar, Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with them) the incident of Jibril (peace be upon him) leading the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in prayer has been narrated. Besides this incident regarding the times of prayer, other narrations have also been established from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), Buraidah bin Husayb and Abdullah bin Amr bin al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with them).

(١٧٠٣) (الف) حکیم نے اسی معنی میں روایت نقل کی ہے۔
(ب) جابر بن عبداللہ، ابو مسعود انصاری، عبداللہ بن عمر، ابوہریرہ اور ابو سعید خدری (رض) سے جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) کو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی امامت کروانے کا واقعہ نقل کیا گیا ہے۔ سیدنا ابو موسیٰ اشعری (رض) بریدہ بن حصیب اور عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص (رض) سے نماز کے اوقات سے متعلق اس واقعہ کے علاوہ دیگرروایات بھی ثابت ہیں۔
(1703) (alif) Hakeem ne isi maeny mein riwayat naqal ki hai. (be) Jabir bin Abdullah, Abu Masood Ansari, Abdullah bin Umar, Abu Hurairah aur Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) se Jibraeel (AS) ko Nabi (SAW) ki imamat karwanay ka waqea naqal kiya gaya hai. Syedna Abu Moosa Ashari (RA) Buraidah bin Haseeb aur Abdullah bin Amr bin al-Aas (RA) se namaz ke auqaat se mutalliq is waqea ke ilawa deegar riwayat bhi sabit hain.
