Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 12417
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If I were to take a Khalil (bosom friend), I would have taken Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) as a Khalil. He is the one who made a father (for Muslims) out of a grandfather."

(١٢٤١٧) حضرت ابن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نی فرمایا : اگر میں کسی کو خلیل بنانا چاہتا تو ابوبکر (رض) کو خلیل بناتا۔ آپ (رض) نے ہی دادے کو باپ بنایا۔
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) farmate hain ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Agar main kisi ko khalil banana chahta to Abu Bakr (RA) ko khalil banata. Aap (RA) ne hi dade ko baap banaya.
Ibn Abi Malika narrated that Abdullah bin Zubair (RA) wrote to the people of Iraq that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If I were to take an intimate friend (Khalil) from amongst the people, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a Khalil. It is this Abu Bakr who said: A paternal uncle is like one's father.

(١٢٤١٨) ابن ابی ملیکہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عبداللہ بن زبیر (رض) نے اہل عراق کی طرف لکھا کہ جو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کہا تھا، اگر میں کسی کو خلیل بناتا تو ابوبکر کو خلیل بناتا۔ اسی ابوبکر نے کہا : دادا باپ کی مانند ہے۔
(12418) Ibne Abi Malika se riwayat hai ki Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair (rz) ne ehl Iraq ki taraf likha ki jo Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne kaha tha, agar main kisi ko khalil banata to Abubakar ko khalil banata. Isi Abubakar ne kaha : dada baap ki manind hai.
It is narrated from Ibn Abi Mulaika that the people of Iraq wrote a letter to Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him about the grandfather (in relation to inheritance). Ibn Zubair replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'If I were to take a Khalil (close friend), I would have taken Abu Bakr as a Khalil. ' He (Abu Bakr) treated his grandfather like his father.

(١٢٤١٩) ابن ابن ملیکہ سے روایت ہے کہ اہل عراق نے ابن زبیر (رض) کو خط لکھا اور اس میں دادا کے بارے میں سوال کیا، ابن زبیر (رض) نے کہا : جو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کہا کہ اگر میں کسی کو خلیل بناتا تو ابوبکر کو خلیل بناتا۔ انھوں نے (ابو بکر (رض) ) دادا کو باپ کی مانند قر ار دیا۔
Ibn Ibn Malikah se riwayat hai ki ahl Iraq ne Ibn Zubair (RA) ko khat likha aur us mein dada ke baare mein sawal kiya, Ibn Zubair (RA) ne kaha : jo Rasul Allah (SAW) ne kaha ki agar mein kisi ko khalil banata to Abu Bakr ko khalil banata. Unhon ne (Abu Bakr (RA) ) dada ko baap ki manind qarar diya.
It is narrated on the authority of Usman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) regarded the grandfather as equivalent to the father.

(١٢٤٢٠) حضرت عثمان بن عفان (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت ابوبکر (رض) نے دادا کو باپ کی مانند قرار دیا۔
(12420) Hazrat Usman bin Affan (RA) se riwayat hai keh Hazrat Abu Bakar (RA) ne dada ko baap ki manind karar diya.
Marwan bin Hakam said that when Umar bin Khattab (RA) was objected to, he said: I have an opinion about the grandfather (meaning Prophet Muhammad PBUH). If you see that he followed something, then definitely follow it. Usman (RA) said: If we follow your opinion then that is good, and if we follow the opinion of the Sheikh (meaning Prophet Muhammad PBUH) before yours, then he was the one with the best opinions.

(١٢٤٢١) مروان بن حکم نے فرمایا کہ جب حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رض) کو طعنہ دیا گیا۔ کہا : میں دادا کے بارے میں ایک رائے رکھتا ہوں اگر تم دیکھتے ہو کہ اس کی پیروی کرو تو ضرور اس کی پیروی کرنا، حضرت عثمان (رض) نے کہا : اگر ہم آپ کی رائے کی پیروی کریں تو اچھا ہے اور اگر ہم آپ سے پہلے شیخ کی رائے کی پیروی کریں تو وہ اچھی رائے والے تھے۔
Marwan bin Hakam ne farmaya keh jab Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (RA) ko ta'ana diya gaya. Kaha: mein dada ke bare mein ek rai rakhta hun agar tum dekhte ho keh uski pairvi karo to zaroor uski pairvi karna, Hazrat Usman (RA) ne kaha: agar hum aap ki rai ki pairvi karen to achha hai aur agar hum aap se pehle sheikh ki rai ki pairvi karen to woh achhi rai wale the.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) used to consider the grandfather in place of the father.

(١٢٤٢٢) حضرت ابو سعید خدری (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت ابوبکر (رض) دادا کو باپ کی جگہ پر رکھتے تھے۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) se riwayat hai keh Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) dada ko baap ki jaga par rakhte thay.
(12423) It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the grandfather is like the father, and he said: If the Jinn knew that there are grandfathers among the people, they would not have said, "Exalted is the grandfather of our Lord" (Al-Jinn: 3), and Sufyan recited: "O son of Adam" (Al-A'raf: 27) and "And I have followed the religion of my forefathers." (Ibrahim: 10).

(١٢٤٢٣) حضرت ابن عباس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ دادا باپ کی مانند ہے اور کہا : اگر جن جان لیں کہ لوگوں میں دادے ہیں تو نہ کہیں { تَعَالَی جَدُّ رَبِّنَا } [الجن : ٣] اور سفیان نے پڑھا { یَا بَنِی آدَمَ } { وَاتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّۃَ آبَائِی }
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) se riwayat hai ki dada baap ki manind hai aur kaha: Agar jinn jaan len ki logon mein daade hain to na kahen { Ta'ala jaddu rabbina } [Al-Jinn: 3] aur Sufyan ne parrha { Ya Bani Adama } { Wa ittaba'tu millata abaa'i }.
'Abdul Rahman bin Ma'qil said: A man came to Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "What do you say about the grandfather?" Ibn 'Abbas said: "There is no grandfather. Which father is greater for you?" The man remained silent, as if he had no answer, as if he had despaired of an answer. 'Abdul Rahman said: I said: "It is I." 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "'Adam. Have you not heard the Word of Allah: {O son of Adam}?"

(١٢٤٢٤) عبدالرحمن بن معقل کہتے ہیں : ایک آدمی ابن عباس (رض) کے پاس آیا، اس نے کہا : آپ دادے کے بارے میں کیا کہتے ہو ؟ ابن عباس (رض) نے کہا : کوئی دادا نہیں ہے، کون سا باپ تیرے لیے بڑا ہے ؟ وہ آدمی خاموش ہوگیا، اسے کوئی جواب نہ آیا گویا کہ وہ جواب سے مایوس ہوگیا۔ عبدالرحمن کہتے ہیں : میں نے کہا : میں ہوں، حضرت علی (رض) نے کہا : آدم ہیں۔ کیا تم نے اللہ کا یہ قول نہیں سنا : { یَا بَنِی آدَمَ }؟
Abdul Rahman bin Muqal kehty hain : Aik aadmi Ibn Abbas (RA) k pass aya, us ne kaha : Aap dade k bary mein kya kehty ho ? Ibn Abbas (RA) ne kaha : Koi dada nahi hai, kon sa baap tere liye bada hai ? Wo aadmi khamosh hogaya, usay koi jawab na aya goya k wo jawab se mayoos hogaya. Abdul Rahman kehty hain : Mein ne kaha : Mein hun, Hazrat Ali (RA) ne kaha : Adam hain. kya tum ne Allah ka yeh qaul nahi suna : { Ya Bani Adama }?
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: An uncle is one who protects (the inheritance of) his nephew, and he is like a father and grandfather (to him).

(١٢٤٢٥) حضرت علی (رض) نے فرمایا : دیت اس کے لیے ہے جو میراث کو بچایا اور دادا باپ کی مانند ہے۔
Hazrat Ali (RA) ne farmaya : dait us ke liye hai jo miras ko bachchaya aur dada baap ki manind hai.
Ata reported that Ali used to treat (his) grandfather like a father.
Ali considered grandfathers and brothers to be equal (in inheritance), and it is possible that he placed the grandfather in the second degree (of inheritance) after the father.

(١٢٤٢٦) عطاء نے خبر دی کہ علی (رض) دادے کو باپ کی طرح بناتے تھے۔
حضرت علی (رض) دادا اور بھائیوں کو شریک سمجھتے تھے اور ہوسکتا ہے کہ انھوں نے دادا کو باپ دوسرے حکم میں بنایا ہو۔
(12426) Ata ne khabar di ke Ali (RA) dade ko baap ki tarah banate thay. Hazrat Ali (RA) dada aur bhaiyon ko sharik samajhte thay aur ho sakta hai ke unhon ne dada ko baap dusre hukm mein banaya ho.
