Chapter: Merits of one who shoots an arrow in the path of Allah
باب فضل من رمى بسهم في سبيل الله عز وجل

Abu Najeeb Salmi reported: I was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in a place in Ta’if. I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying, “Whoever shoots an arrow for the sake of Allah, then it lands on its target, will have a level raised for him in Paradise.” A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, even if I only hit the target in return for it?” The Prophet said, “Yes.” He then shot about sixteen arrows at the target. Abu Najeeb said, “I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying, ‘Whoever reaches old age in Islam will have it as light for him on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever shoots an arrow for the sake of Allah, then it will be a source of light for him on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever frees a Muslim man, then Allah Almighty will protect his entire body from the Hellfire in exchange for each of his bones. Whoever frees a Muslim woman, then Allah Almighty will grant freedom from Hellfire for the woman who freed her in return.’”

(١٨٥٠٩) ابونجیح سلمی فرماتے ہیں کہ میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ طائف کے محل میں موجود تھا۔ میں نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا، آپ فرما رہے تھے : جس نے صحیح نشانے پر تیر مارا اس کے لیے جنت میں ایک درجہ ہوگا۔ ایک شخص نے کہا : اے اللہ کے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اگر میں تیر نشانے پر ماروں تو بدلے لیے بھی جنت میں درجہ ہوگا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ہاں تو اس نے تیر نشانے پر مارے تقریبا سولہ تیر۔ کہتے ہیں : میں نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جس کو اللہ کے راستہ میں بڑھاپا آگیا۔ اس کے لیے قیامت کے دن نور کا باعث ہوگا۔ جس نے اللہ کے راستہ میں تیر پھینکا۔ یہ بھی اس کے لیے قیامت کے دن روشنی کا باعث بنے گا اور جس انسان نے کسی مسلمان مرد کو آزاد کیا تو اللہ رب لعزت اس کی ہڈیوں کے عوض اس کے تمام جسم کو جہنم کی آگ سے محفوظ کر دے گا اور جس مسلمان عورت نے کسی مسلمان عورت کو آزاد کیا تو اللہ رب العزت آزاد کرنے والی عورت کو اس کے بدلے جہنم سے آزاد کردیں گے۔
(18509) AbuNajeh Salmi farmaty hain keh mein Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) k sath Taif k mahal mein mojood tha. Mein ne Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suna, Aap farma rahy thy : Jis ne sahih nishany per teer mara us k liye Jannat mein ek darja hoga. Ek shakhs ne kaha : Aye Allah k Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) agar mein teer nishany per maroon to badle liye bhi Jannat mein darja hoga. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Haan to us ne teer nishany per maary taqreeban solah teer. Kehty hain : Mein ne Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suna to Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Jis ko Allah k rasty mein burhapa agaya. Us k liye Qiyamat k din noor ka baais hoga. Jis ne Allah k rasty mein teer phenka. Yeh bhi us k liye Qiyamat k din roshni ka baais bane ga aur jis insan ne kisi musalman mard ko azad kya to Allah Rab ul Izzat us ki haddiyon k ewaz us k tamam jism ko Jahannum ki aag se mehfooz kar dy ga aur jis musalman aurat ne kisi musalman aurat ko azad kya to Allah Rab ul Izzat azad karny wali aurat ko us k badle Jahannum se azad kar dy gy.
Amr bin Abasa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Whoever shoots an arrow at the enemy and it hits the target, even if the target is missed, he will get the reward of freeing a slave.

(١٨٥١٠) حضرت عمروبن عبسہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا : جس نے دشمن کو تیرمارا اور وہ نشانے پر لگا۔ یہ نشانہ خطا ہوگیا۔ اسے ایک غلام آزاد کرنے کے برابر ثواب ملے گا۔
Hazrat Amr bin Abasa (RA) farmate hain keh maine Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suna: Jis ne dushman ko teer mara aur woh nishane par laga, yeh nishana khata ho gaya, usay ek ghulam azad karne ke barabar sawab milay ga.
Wahizah narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: "Whoever reaches old age in Islam, it will be a cause of light for him on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah will get the reward equal to setting a slave free."

(١٨٥١١) واحذر کہتے ہیں : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا، آپ نے فرمایا : جس کو اسلام میں بڑھاپا آگیا یہ اس کے لیے قیامت کے دن نور کا باعث بنے گا اور جس نے اللہ کے راستہ میں تیر پھینکا، اسے غلام آزاد کرنے کے برابر ثواب ملے گا۔
(18511) wahazar kahte hain : main ne rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suna, aap ne farmaya : jis ko Islam mein budhapa aa gaya yeh uske liye qayamat ke din noor ka baais bane ga aur jis ne Allah ke rasta mein teer phenka, use ghulam azad karne ke barabar sawab mile ga.
Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave me a quiver. Hasan ibn 'Urwah said: meaning he (the Prophet) threw down his quiver on the Day of Uhud and said: May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, shoot (arrows).

(١٨٥١٢) سعد بن ابی وقاص (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے مجھے ترکش عطا کیا۔ حسن بن عرفہ کہتے ہیں، یعنی اپنا ترکش احد کے دن پھینکا اور فرمایا : میرے ماں باپ آپ پر فدا ہوں تیر اندازی کرو۔
(18512) Saad bin Abi Waqas (RA) farmate hain ke Rasul Allah (SAW) ne mujhe tarkash ata kiya. Hasan bin Urfa kehte hain, yani apna tarkash Uhad ke din phenka aur farmaya : mere maan baap aap par fida hon teer andazi karo.
Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said only for Sa'd (رضي الله تعالى عنه) while he (Sa'd) was doing archery, "May my parents be sacrificed for you, shoot the arrow!".

(١٨٥١٣) حضرت علی (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے صرف سعد (رض) کے لیے اپنے والدین کے بارے میں فرمایا کہ میرے والدین آپ پر فدا ہوں تیر اندازی کرو۔
(18513) Hazrat Ali (RA) farmate hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne sirf Saad (RA) ke liye apne waldain ke bare mein farmaya keh mere waldain aap per fida hon teer andazi karo.
Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) used to defend himself and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with a shield, and Abu Talha was the best archer. When he would shoot an arrow, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would look at the place where it landed.

(١٨٥١٤) حضرت انس بن مالک (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ابو طلحہ ایک ڈھال سے اپنا اور رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا دفاع کرتے تھے اور ابوطلحہ بہترین تیرا انداز تھے۔ جب وہ تیر پھینکتے تھے تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ان کے تیر گرنے کی جگہ کو دیکھتے۔
(18514) Hazrat Anas bin Malik (RA) farmate hain keh Abu Talha aik dhaal se apna aur Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka difa karte thay aur Abu Talha behtarin teer andaz thay. Jab woh teer phenkte thay to Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) unke teer girne ki jaga ko dekhte.
