Aishah narrated: When the people of slander said about her what they said, Allah revealed her innocence. And each one of the narrators narrated to me a part of the Hadith, and some of them had a better memory of her Hadiths than others, and some were more eloquent and concise. And I have avoided mentioning from every narrator the Hadith that he narrated to me, and some of them confirmed others. They mentioned that Aishah said: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) intended to go on a journey, he would draw lots amongst his wives, and whichever of them the lot came out for, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would take her out with him. She said: So he drew lots amongst us during a campaign in which he went out, and my lot came out, so I went out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and that was after Hijab was enjoined. So I would be carried in my howdah, and I would be set down in it, for our journey, until when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) finished from that campaign of his and returned, and we drew near to Al-Madinah, it was announced that we would set out at night. So I got up when they announced our departure, and I walked until I had gone past the army. Then when I had finished my affair, I returned, and I felt my chest, and behold, a necklace of mine made of Jazz' Zafar (a type of Yemenite beads) was missing! So I went back, and I searched for my necklace, and my going back kept me behind, and the group that sets out for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) departed, so they carried my howdah and placed it on the camel which I used to ride, while they thought that I was in it. Aishah said: And the women in those days were light, flesh had not covered them. So they set out and went on their way, and when they had gone, I found my necklace after the army had moved on. So I came to their campsite, but there was neither a caller there nor one to respond. So I stayed where my dwelling had been. Then while I was sitting there, sleep overtook me, and Safwan bin Mu'attal As-Sulami, then Adh-Dhakwani, who had stayed behind the army, traveled by night and arrived at my campsite in the morning. He saw the form of a person sleeping, and he recognized me when he saw me, for he had seen me before Hijab was enjoined. So I woke up upon his saying: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (Verily, to Allah we belong and unto Him is our return)," when he recognized me. So I covered my face with my Jilbab, and by Allah, he did not speak a word to me, nor did I hear a word from him other than his saying: "Inna lillahi..." until he made his camel kneel down, and he placed his foot on its foreleg so I mounted it. Then he set off, leading the camel by its reins until we caught up with the army after they had stopped at noon in the valley of Adh-Dahhira. So the one who was ruined, because of my affair, was ruined. And the one who took charge of their matter, from amongst them, was `Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul. So I arrived in Al-Madinah, and I fell sick when I arrived there, for a month, while the people were spreading around the talk of the people of slander. But I did not perceive anything of that, although what made me wonder was that I did not see from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) the kindness that I usually saw from him when I got sick. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would enter upon me and say: "How are you all?" And that made me wonder, but I did not perceive anything until I went out after I recovered from my illness. I went out with Umm Mistah before the places of relieving oneself, and she was the one who would accompany us when we went out to relieve ourselves. And we would not go out except at night, towards night. That is because we hated to use toilets close to our houses, and our matter was like the matter of the first Arabs, with regard to relieving ourselves. And we used to find it objectionable to use toilets near our houses. So I set out with Umm Mistah, who was the daughter of Abu Ruhm bin Al-Muttalib bin `Abd Manaf, and her mother was the daughter of Sakhr bin `Amir, the paternal aunt of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, and her son was Mistah bin Uthathah bin `Abbad bin Al-Muttalib. So we set out, and when we finished with our affair we came to the house. Then Umm Mistah stumbled over her waist-wrapper, and she said: "May Mistah be destroyed!" So I said to her: "That is a bad thing for you to say! Do you revile a man who witnessed Badr?" She said: "O you, have you not heard what he has said?" I said: "And what has he said?" So she informed me of the talk of the people of slander. Then my illness increased upon my illness, and I returned to my house. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered upon me and greeted, then he said: "How are you all?" So I said: "Will you give me permission to go to my parents?" And I, at that time, wanted to ascertain the news from them. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave me permission, and I came to my parents, and I said to my mother: "O my mother, what are the people talking about?" She said: "O my little daughter, take it easy upon yourself. By Allah, there is hardly a woman who is desirable to her husband, and who has co-wives besides her, except that they will say such and such about her." So I said: "Subhan Allah! Are the people really talking about that?" She said: "Yes." So I spent that night and my tears did not dry up, nor could I get any sleep. I continued to cry until morning. And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called `Ali bin Abi Talib and Usamah bin Zayd, and he wanted to consult them about divorcing his wife. That was when the revelation was being withheld from him. As for Usamah bin Zayd, he advised the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) based on what he knew of the innocence of his family, and the love he had for them in his heart, so he said: "They are your family, and we do not know anything but good about them." As for `Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: "Allah has not made it narrow for you, and there are plenty of women other than her. And if you ask the slave-girl, she will tell you the truth." So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called Barirah and said: "O Barirah, have you seen anything from Aishah that made you doubt her?" Barirah said: "O Messenger of Allah, by the One Who sent you with the truth, I have never seen anything wrong with her, except that she is a young girl, and she sleeps and neglects her dough, so the domestic animals come in and eat it." So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up, and he sought refuge with Allah from `Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul, while he was on the Minbar. He said: "O assembly of the Muslims, who will defend me against a man who has harmed my family? By Allah, I do not know anything but good about my family, and they have mentioned a man, of whom I know nothing but good, and he would not enter upon my family except with me." So Sa'd bin Mu'adh Al-Ansari stood up and said: "I will defend you against him, O Messenger of Allah. If he is from the Aws, then we will strike his neck, and if he is from the Khazraj, then command us, and we will do as you command us." Then Sa'd bin `Ubadah stood up - and he was the leader of the Khazraj, and he was a righteous man, but tribal zeal had gotten the better of him - he said: "By Allah, you will not kill him, and you are not able to kill him!" Then Usayd bin Hudayr stood up - and he was the cousin of Sa`d bin Mu'adh - and said: "You have lied! By Allah, we will kill him! For you are a hypocrite, and you are arguing on behalf of the hypocrites!" So the two tribes, the Aws and the Khazraj, rose up, until they almost came to blows. And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) continued to calm them down until they fell silent, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) fell silent. Then I wept that day, my tears did not dry up, nor could I get any sleep. And my parents thought that the crying was going to break my heart. Then, while they were sitting with me, behold, a woman of the Ansar asked permission to enter upon me, so I gave her permission. Then while we were like that, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered and greeted, then he sat down. And he had not sat with me for a day since the matter had begun. It had been a month, and no revelation had come to him. So he pronounced the Testimony (that there is none worthy of worship but Allah, and that Muhammad is His Messenger), then he said: "To proceed: It has reached me, O Aishah, that such and such has been said. If you are innocent, then Allah will prove your innocence, but if you have fallen into sin, then seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him. For when the servant acknowledges his sin then repents, Allah turns to him in forgiveness." Then, when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) finished his speech, my tears dried up, until I did not feel even a single drop. Then I said to my father: "Respond to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on my behalf." But he said: "By Allah, I do not know what to say to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)." So I said to my mother: "Respond to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on my behalf." But she said: "By Allah, I do not know what to say to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)." So I said - and I was a young girl who had not read much Qur'an: "By Allah, I know that you have heard of this matter, until it has become firmly settled in your minds, and you have believed it. So if I say to you that I am innocent, and Allah knows that I am innocent, you will not believe me. And if I confess something to you, and Allah knows that I am innocent of it, you will believe me. By Allah, I cannot find any example for me and you except that of the father of Yusuf (Jacob), {Beautiful patience (indeed) you have exercised! And Allah's help is sought for that (lie) which you assert}. Then I turned away and lay down on my bed, and by Allah, I knew then that I was innocent, and that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, would prove my innocence. But I did not think that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, would send down revelation about my affair that would be recited, for my affair was too insignificant in my own estimation for Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, to speak about it in a matter that would be recited. However, I hoped that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would see a dream in which Allah would prove my innocence. Then by Allah, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not leave his place, nor did anyone leave the house, until Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed to His Prophet (ﷺ). And He took hold of him with what He took hold of him with of revelation - with the heaviness of the speech that was revealed to him. Then when it had eased for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), the first word that he spoke was: "O Aishah, Allah has proven your innocence!" So my mother said to me: "Get up to him." But I said: "By Allah, I will not get up to him, and I will not praise anyone but Allah, Who is the One Who sent down my innocence!" So Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed: {Verily! Those who brought forth the slander (against `Aishah) are a party among you...} - the ten Ayat. She said: So Allah revealed these Ayat to prove my innocence. And Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, had been spending on Mistah because of his kinship to him and his poverty. So he said: "By Allah, I will never spend anything on him after what he said about Aishah." So Allah revealed: {And let not those among you who are blessed with graces and wealth swear not to give (any sort of help) to their kinsmen...} until His saying: {...See you not like that Allah should forgive you?} So Abu Bakr said: "Yes, by Allah, I love that Allah should forgive me." So he resumed giving Mistah the stipend that he used to give him, and he said: "By Allah, I will never withhold it from him!" She said: And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked Zaynab bint Jahsh about my affair: "What did you know, and what did you see?" She said: "I protect my hearing and my sight. I do not know anything except good." And she was the one who used to compete with me for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) from amongst the wives of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). So Allah protected her with piety. And her sister, Hamnah bint Jahsh, strove on her behalf, and she was destroyed with those who were destroyed. Az- Zuhri said: "And this is what reached me concerning the matter of these people."
Unhon ne bataya keh Ayesha Radi Allahu Anha ne farmaya: Jab Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam safar ka irada farmate to apni azwaj-e-mutahharaat ke darmiyan qur'a andazi farmate aur jis ke naam ka qur'a nikalta usay apne hamrah le jate. Aap Radi Allahu Anha ne farmaya keh Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne ek ghazwa (jangi maheem) mein hamare darmiyan qur'a andazi farma'i to mera naam nikla chunancha mein Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke hamrah chali aur yeh waqeya hijab ke farz hone ke baad ka hai. Mein howdaj per sawar hoti, us mein mujhe bithaya jata aur hum safar karte rehte. Hatta keh jab Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam apni us ghazwa se farigh ho kar wapas huye aur hum Madinah ke qareeb pahunche to raat ko کوچ karne ka elaan ho gaya. Jab unhon ne rawangi ka elaan kiya to mein uthi aur chal padi yahan tak lashkar se bhi aage nikal gayi. Phir jab mein apna kaam khatam kar chuki to wapas hui to mujhe apne seenay per hath phairne per mehsoos hua keh Yamani motion ka mera haar ghayab hai. Mein wapas hui aur apna haar talaash karne lagi. Mere wapas jane ki wajah se mujhe dair ho gayi aur Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki rawangi ka waqt ho gaya chunancha woh mere howdaj ko utha kar us oonthni per rakh chuke thay jisko mein sawar hoti thi kyunkeh woh samajh rahe thay keh mein us mein hun. Ayesha Radi Allahu Anha ne farmaya: Uss zamanay mein auratain dubli patli hoti thin, un ke jismon per gosht nahin charha hota tha. Woh log rawana huye aur chale gaye. Jab woh chale gaye to mujhe apna haar lashkar ke chalay jane ke baad mil gaya. Mein un ke padhao ki jagah per aayi to wahan na to koi pukarne wala tha aur na hi koi jawab dene wala. Chunancha mein apne thikanay per hi ruk gayi. Phir woh khud aage aage chale aur oonthni ki nakeel thaam kar usay hankte rahe yahan tak keh hum zohar ke waqt wadi-e-zi-khalifa mein lashkar se ja mile. Iss tarah jiss shaks ko mere bare mein baat banana thi woh bana chukka tha. Phir mein Madinah aayi to beemar ho gayi aur ek mahine tak beemar hi rahi aur iss dauran log munafiqeen ki ghaybat karte rahe. Mujhe iss ki kuch khabar na thi haan mujhe itni baat zaroor ajeeb lag rahi thi keh mein Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki taraf se woh shifa nahin dekh rahi thi jo beemari ki halat mein aam taur per Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam meri ayadat farmaya karte thay. Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam mere paas tashreef laate aur sirf itna hi farmate: "Aap kaisi hain?" Yahi baat mujhe ajeeb lag rahi thi lekin mujhe asal mamlay ki kuch khabar nahin hui yahan tak keh mein sehat yaab hone ke baad ghar se bahar nikli. Mein Umm-e-Mistah Radi Allahu Anha ke saath raat ke waqt, balkeh raat ke aakhri hissay mein, bahar nikli thi. Woh hamare saath hi bahar qaza-e-hajat ke liye jaya karti thin. Hum gharon se bahar sirf usi waqt jaya karti thin kyunkeh hamein apne gharon ke qareeb bait-ul-khala banana aur un mein qaza-e-hajat ke liye jana pasand nahin tha kyunkeh hamara tareeqa bhi pehle Arabon hi jaisa tha jo gharon ke qareeb bait-ul-khala banana aur un mein qaza-e-hajat ke liye jana napasandeeda ki nazar se dekhte thay. Gharaz mein Umm-e-Mistah ke saath nikli, jo Abu Ruhm bin al-Muttalib bin Abd-e-Manaf ki beti thin, unki walida Sakhr bin Aamir ki beti thin jo Abu Bakr Siddiq Radi Allahu Anhu ki phoophi thin, aur unke betay ka naam Mistah bin Asasa bin Ubaid bin al-Muttalib tha. Chunancha hum nikle aur jab farigh ho kar wapas ghar ki taraf chal parhe to Umm-e-Mistah apni chadar mein ulj kar gir padi aur boli: "Mistah halaak ho!" Maine kaha: "Tum kya keh rahi ho! Kya tum ek aise shaks ko bura bhala keh rahi ho jo Badr mein sharik tha?" Unhon ne kaha: "Aye beti! Kya tumne nahin suna keh log kya keh rahe hain?" Maine kaha: "Log kya keh rahe hain?" Tab unhon ne mujhe logon ki ghaybat ki khabar di to meri pehli beemari ke baad dobara aur zyada shiddat ke saath beemari ne mujhe gher liya aur mein wapas apne ghar aa gayi. Iss ke baad ek din Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam mere paas tashreef laaye aur salaam karne ke baad farmaya: "Aap kaisi hain?" Maine arz kiya: "Aap mujhe ijazat dijiye keh mein apne maan baap ke ghar chali jaun." Dar'asal mein yeh janna chahti thi keh mamla kya hai. Log kya keh rahe hain?" Unhon ne kaha: "Beti! Koi parwah na karo. Allah ki qasam! Aisi koi aurat jiske shohar ko uski talab ho aur jisko sauteli mayein hon, unke shar se mehfooz nahin reh sakti, yeh zaroor uske bare mein kuch na kuch kahengi." Maine kaha: "Subhan Allah! Kya waqai log aisi baatein kar rahe hain?" Unhon ne kaha: "Haan" Maine woh raat aisi guzari keh meri aankhon ke aansu na suke, na hi mujhe zara bhi neend aayi. Mein subah tak roti hi rahi. Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne Ali bin Abi Talib aur Usama bin Zaid Radi Allahu Anhuma ko bulaya aur apni biwi ko talaaq dene ke bare mein unse mashwara karna chaha. Yeh woh waqt tha jab Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam per wahi ka silsila munqata' tha. Jahan tak Usama bin Zaid Radi Allahu Anhuma ka ta'alluq tha to unhon ne Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko apne ghar walon ki buraai se aur jo unke dil mein unki mohabbat thi uski bina per mashwara diya aur kaha: "Aye Allah ke Rasool! Woh aapke ghar wale hain, hum unke bare mein bhalayi ke siwa kuch nahin jante." Jahan tak Ali bin Abi Talib Radi Allahu Anhu ka ta'alluq hai to unhon ne kaha: "Allah Ta'ala ne aap per tangi nahin ki hai, unke siwa aur bhi auratain mojood hain. Aap laundi se hi poochh lijiye woh aapko sach bata degi." Chunancha Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne Barira Radi Allahu Anha ko bulaya aur farmaya: "Barira! Kya tumne Ayesha Radi Allahu Anha ki aisi koi baat dekhi hai jisse tumhein unper shaq ho?" Barira Radi Allahu Anha ne kaha: "Aye Allah ke Rasool! Uss zaat ki qasam jisne aapko haq ke saath mab'oos farmaya hai, maine unmein koi buraayi nahin dekhi, haan woh chhoti hain, so jati hain aur apna aata bhool jati hain to janwar aa kar kha jate hain." Iss ke baad Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam kharay huye aur mimbar per tashreef le ja kar Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salool se Allah ki panaah maangi aur farmaya: "Musalmanon ki jamat! Tum mein kaun hai jo uss shaks se mera saath dega jisne mere ghar walon per hamla kiya hai. Allah ki qasam! Mujhe apne ghar walon ke bare mein achchayi ke siwa kuch ma'aloom nahin hai aur unhon ne ek aise shaks ka zikar kiya hai jiske bare mein bhi mujhe bhalayi ke siwa kuch ma'aloom nahin hai. Woh mere ghar walon ke pass mere siwa kisi aur ke saath nahin jata tha." Yeh sun kar Sa'd bin Mu'adh Ansari Radi Allahu Anhu kharay huye aur kaha: "Aye Allah ke Rasool! Mein aapka saath dun ga. Agar woh Aws qabiley se hai to hum uski gardan ura denge aur agar woh hamare bhaiyon (yani Khazraj) mein se hai to phir aap hamein hukm dein hum aapka hukm baja laayenge." Iss ke baad Sa'd bin Ubadah kharay huye, woh Khazraj ke sardar aur nek aadmi thay lekin un mein asabiyat aa gayi thi, unhon ne kaha: "Allah ki qasam! Tum usay qatl nahin kar sakte aur na hi tum mein itni taqat hai keh usay qatl kar sako." Yeh sun kar Usaid bin Hudhair Radi Allahu Anhu jo Sa'd bin Mu'adh ke chacha zad bhai thay, kharay huye aur kaha: "Tumne jhoot kaha hai. Allah ki qasam! Hum zaroor usay qatl karenge. Tum khud munafiq ho aur munafiqeen ki himayat kar rahe ho." Iss per Aws aur Khazraj dono qabilon ke log uth kharay huye yahan tak keh qareeb tha keh aapas mein lar parhte. Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam unhein khamosh karate rahe yahan tak keh woh khamosh ho gaye aur Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam bhi khamosh ho gaye. Hum usi halat mein thay keh Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam tashreef laaye aur salaam karne ke baad baith gaye. Ek mahina guzar gaya tha aur Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam per wahi bhi nazil nahin ho rahi thi. Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne "Ash'hadu an la ilaha illallahu wa ash'hadu anna Muhammadur Rasoolullah" kaha aur farmaya: "Amma ba'ad! Aye Ayesha! Mujhe tumhare bare mein aisi aisi baatein pahunchi hain, agar tum be-qusoor ho to Allah Ta'ala tumhari bara'at nazil farma dega aur agar tumne koi gunaah kiya hai to Allah Ta'ala se maafi maango aur uski baargaah mein tauba karo, kyunkeh jab banda apna gunaah tasleem kar ke tauba karta hai to Allah Ta'ala usper raham farmata hai." Jab Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam apni baat khatam kar chuke to mere aansu bilkul sookh gaye, mujhe mehsoos hua jaise mere andar ek qatra bhi aansu baqi nahin raha. Maine apne baap se kaha: "Abu! Aap Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko mera jawab dein." Unhon ne kaha: "Allah ki qasam! Mujhe ma'aloom nahin keh mein Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se kya kahun." Phir maine apni walida se kaha: "Amma! Aap Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko mera jawab dein." Unhon ne kaha: "Allah ki qasam! Mujhe ma'aloom nahin keh mein Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se kya kahun." Iss per mein bol padi. Halaanke mein uss waqt chhoti thi aur maine zyada Quran Majeed nahin parha tha, maine kaha: "Allah ki qasam! Mein janti hun keh tumne iss mamlay ko iss qadar sun liya hai keh woh tumhare dilon mein baith gaya hai aur tum usay sach maan chuke ho. Agar mein tumse kahun keh mein be-qusoor hun aur Allah Ta'ala janta hai keh mein be-qusoor hun to tum meri baat per yaqeen nahin karoge aur agar mein apne upper koi jurm qubool kar lun aur Allah Ta'ala janta hai keh mein usse pak daaman hun to tum meri baat maan loge. Allah ki qasam! Mujhe tumhare aur apne bare mein Yusuf Alaihissalam ke walid (Ya'qub Alaihissalam) ke siwa aur koi misaal nahin milti, jab unhon ne kaha tha keh: "Sabrun jamil, wall hu alal lahi mast e anun, ala ma tasifun." "Bahut hi achcha sabr hai (tumne kya hai) aur jiss baat ki tum (mujh par) nisbat kar rahe ho us (ke silsilay) mein Allah hi se madad chahta hun" (Yusuf: 18) Phir mein munh phair kar apne palang per lait gayi. Allah ki qasam! Uss waqt mein jitni apne yaqeen aur yaqeen se keh sakti hun keh mein be-qusoor hun aur Allah Ta'ala meri bara'at nazil farmaye ga itni maine kabhi kisi aur cheez ka yaqeen nahin kiya. Lekin maine yeh nahin socha tha keh Allah Ta'ala mere iss mamlay mein koi aisi aayat nazil farmaye ga jisse parha jaye ga kyunkeh mera mamla meri nazar mein itna aham nahin tha keh Allah Ta'ala uska zikar aisi aayat mein farmaye jisse parha jaye. Albatta mujhe itni umeed zaroor thi keh Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam koi aisa khawab dekhenge jismein Allah Ta'ala meri bara'at zahir farma de ga. Allah ki qasam! Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam apni jagah se na hilay aur na hi ghar se koi bahar nikla yahan tak keh Allah Ta'ala ne apne Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam per wahi nazil farma di. Allah Ta'ala ne Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam per wahi ki sakhti utari jiss tarah pehle utara karta tha. Phir jab Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam per se wahi ki sakhti kam hui to Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne jo pehla kalma farmaya woh yeh tha: "Aye Ayesha! Allah Ta'ala ne tumhari bara'at nazil farma di hai." Meri walida ne kaha: "Beti! Utho aur Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke pass jao." Aayinda kabhi Mistah ko kharcha nahin dun ga kyunkeh unhon ne Ayesha Radi Allahu Anha ke bare mein (aisi baat) kahi hai." Iss per Allah Ta'ala ne yeh aayat nazil farmaayi: "Wa la ya'talu uloo al fadli minkum wa al sa'ati an yu'tu ulee al qurba" "Aur tum mein jo fazilat wale aur aasuda haal hain unhein yeh qasam nahin khaani chahiye keh hum apne qarabat daron" (yahan) tak keh farmaya: "A fa la tuhibbuna an yaghfira Allahu lakum" "To kya tum yeh pasand nahin karte keh Allah tumhein bakhsh de?" Abu Bakr Siddiq Radi Allahu Anhu ne kaha: "Kyun nahin! Allah ki qasam! Mujhe yeh bahut hi zyada mahboob hai keh Allah Ta'ala mujhe bakhsh de." Chunancha unhon ne Mistah ko phir wahi kharcha dena shuru kar diya jo pehle diya karte thay aur kaha: "Allah ki qasam! Aayinda unhein kabhi kharcha dena band nahin karun ga." Aap Radi Allahu Anha ne farmaya keh Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne mere iss waqeye ke bare mein Zainab bint Jahsh Radi Allahu Anha se poochha: "Tumhein kya ma'aloom hai aur tumne kya dekha hai?" Unhon ne kaha: "Mein apne kaanon aur apni aankhon ki hifazat karti hun, mein bhalayi ke siwa kuch nahin janti." Zainab bint Jahsh Radi Allahu Anha Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki un azwaj-e-mutahharaat mein se thin jo mujh se Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki mohabbat mein hasad karti thin.
