Sunan Ibn Majah 1589
Asma’ bint Yazid (رضي الله تعالى عنها) narrated that ‘When Ibrahim (رضي الله تعالی عنہ), the son of the Apostle of Allah (صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم), died, the Apostle of Allah (صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم) wept. The one who was consoling him, either Abu Bakr (رضئ هللا تعالی عنہ) or ‘Umar ( رضي الله تعالى عنه), said to him, ‘You are indeed the best of those who glorify Allah ( ع َ َّز َّوَجَل) with what is due to him.’ The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘The eye weeps and 58 Return to Contents the heart grieve, but we do not say anything that angers the Lord. Were it not that death is something that inevitably comes to all, and that the latter will surely join the former, then we would have been more than we are, verily we grieve for you.’

اسماء بنت یزید رضی اللہ عنہما کہتی ہیں کہ جب رسول اللہ ﷺ کے صاحب زادے ابراہیم کا انتقال ہو گیا، تو رسول اللہ ﷺ رو پڑے، آپ سے تعزیت کرنے والے نے ( وہ یا تو ابوبکر تھے یا عمر رضی اللہ عنہما ) کہا: آپ سب سے زیادہ اللہ کے حق کو بڑا جاننے والے ہیں، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: آنکھ روتی ہے، دل غمگین ہوتا ہے، اور ہم کوئی ایسی بات نہیں کہتے جس سے اللہ تعالیٰ ناخوش ہو، اور اگر قیامت کا وعدہ سچا نہ ہوتا، اور اس وعدہ میں سب جمع ہونے والے نہ ہوتے، اور بعد میں مرنے والا پہلے مرنے والے کے پیچھے نہ ہوتا، تو اے ابراہیم! ہم اس رنج سے زیادہ تم پر رنج کرتے، ہم تیری جدائی سے رنجیدہ ہیں ۱؎ ۔
Asmaa bint Yazid ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehti hain ke jab Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sahib zaade Ibrahim ka intaqal ho gaya, to Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ro par gaye, aap se ta'zeet karne walay ne ( woh ya to Abu Bakr thay ya Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ) kaha: aap sab se zyada Allah ke haq ko bada jaan ne walay hain, Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: aankh roti hai, dil ghamgeen hota hai, aur hum koi aisi baat nahin kehte jis se Allah Ta'ala nakhush ho, aur agar qiyaamat ka wa'da sacha nahin hota, aur is wa'da mein sab jama hone walay nahin hote, aur ba'd mein marne wala pehle marne walay ke pichhe nahin hota, to aay Ibrahim! hum is ranj se zyada tum par ranj karte, hum teri juda'i se ranjida hain
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَتْ: لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ ابْنُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الْمُعَزِّي إِمَّا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَإِمَّا عُمَرُ: أَنْتَ أَحَقُّ مَنْ عَظَّمَ اللَّهُ حَقَّهُ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: تَدْمَعُ الْعَيْنُ، وَيَحْزَنُ الْقَلْبُ، وَلَا نَقُولُ مَا يُسْخِطُ الرَّبَّ، لَوْلَا أَنَّهُ وَعْدٌ صَادِقٌ وَمَوْعُودٌ جَامِعٌ، وَأَنَّ الْآخِرَ تَابِعٌ لِلْأَوَّلِ، لَوَجَدْنَا عَلَيْكَ يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ أَفْضَلَ مِمَّا وَجَدْنَا، وَإِنَّا بِكَ لَمَحْزُونُونَ .
