Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that I went out with Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) on an expedition, but my camel delayed me. Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) came to me and said, Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه), I said, yes. Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), (here I am at your beck and call) He said, what is the matter with you? I said, my camel has delayed me and is tired, so I have lagged behind. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) got down and goaded it with a crooked stick and then said, Mount it. So, I mounted and (to my great surprise) I saw it (moving so quickly that) I had to restrain it (from going ahead of) Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) (in the course of journey said to me), have you married? I said, yes. He (again) said, is it with a virgin or one previously married? I said, with one previously married. He (again) said, why not with a young girl with whom you could sport, and she could have sported with you? I said, I have sisters, so I preferred to marry a woman who could keep them together (as one family); who could comb them and look after them. He said, you are about to go (to your house), and there you have the enjoyment (of the wife's company). He again said, do you want to sell your camel? I said, yes. So, he bought it from me for one u'qiya (of silver), Then Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) arrived (at Madina) and I arrived in the evening. I went to the mosque and found him at the door of the mosque, and said, is it now that you have arrived? I said, yes, He said, leave your camel, and enter (the mosque) and offer two rak'ah. So, I entered and offered two rak'ah of prayer, and then returned. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) then commanded Bilal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) to weigh out one 'uqiya (of silver) to me. Bilal ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) weighed that out for me (lowering the scale of) balance. So, I proceeded and as I turned my back he said, call for me, Jabir. So, I was called back, and I said (to myself), he would return me the camel, and nothing was more displeasing to me than this (that after having received the price I should also get the camel). He said, take your camel and keep its price with you, (as well).
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں ایک جنگ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نکلا میرا اونٹ سست رفتار چلنے لگا، میرے پاس رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پہنچے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: ”جابر ہو؟“ میں نے عرض کیا جی ہاں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: ”کیا معاملہ ہے؟“ میں نے عرض کیا، میرا اونٹ آہستہ آہستہ چلنے لگا ہے وہ تھک گیا ہے اس لیے میں پیچھے رہ گیا ہوں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سواری سے اترے اور اسے خمیدہ چھڑی سے کچوکا لگایا، پھر فرمایا: ”سوار ہو جا“ تو میں سوار ہو گیا، اور میں اپنے اونٹ کو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے آ گے بڑھنے سے روک رہا تھا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: ”کیا تو نے شادی کر لی ہے؟“ میں نے جواب دیا، جی ہاں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: ”کنواری سے یا بیوہ سے؟“ میں نے کہا، بلکہ وہ ثیب (بیوہ) ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”دوشیزہ سے کیوں نہیں، تم باہمی اٹھکیلیاں کرتے؟“ میں نے عرض کیا، میری بہنیں ہیں، اس لیے میں نے چاہا ایسی عورت سے شادی کروں جو انہیں اپنے دامن میں لے، ان کی کنگھی پٹی کرے اور ان کی دیکھ بھال رکھے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اب تم پہنچ رہے ہو، تو جب گھر پہنچو، عقل اور احتیاط سے کام لینا۔“ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: ”کیا اپنا اونٹ بیچو گے؟“ میں نے کہا (آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اصرار کے بعد) جی ہاں، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے اسے ایک اوقیہ (چالیس درہم) میں خرید لیا۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم (مدینہ) پہنچے اور صبح کو میں بھی (اپنے محلہ سے) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا، میں مسجد میں آیا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو میں نے مسجد کے دروازہ پر پایا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: ”ابھی پہنچے ہو؟“ میں نے کہا، جی ہاں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اپنے اونٹ کو چھوڑ دے اور مسجد میں جا کر دو رکعت نماز پڑھ۔“ میں نے مسجد میں جا کر نماز پڑھی اور پھر واپس آ گیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بلال رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو حکم دیا کہ وہ مجھے چالیس درہم تول دے، بلال نے مجھے چاندی تول دی اور ترازو جھکایا، میں لے کر چل دیا۔ جب میں نے پشت پھیری، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میرے پاس جابر کو بلاؤ۔“ مجھے بلایا گیا تو میں نے سوچا، اب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم میرا اونٹ واپس کر دیں گے، اور مجھے اس سے زیادہ ناپسند کوئی اور چیز نہ تھی، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اپنا اونٹ لے لو، اور تمہیں اس کی قیمت بھی دی۔“
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (Razi Allahu Anhuma) bayan karte hain ke main ek jung mein Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke saath nikla mera oont sust raftar chalne laga, mere paas Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) pahunche, to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne poocha: "Jabir ho?" Main ne arz kiya ji haan, aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne poocha: "Kya ma'amla hai?" Main ne arz kiya, mera oont aahista aahista chalne laga hai woh thak gaya hai is liye main peeche reh gaya hoon, aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) sawari se utre aur use khameedah chhadi se kachoka lagaya, phir farmaya: "Sawaar ho ja" to main sawaar ho gaya, aur main apne oont ko aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se aage badhne se rok raha tha, aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne poocha: "Kya tu ne shadi kar li hai?" Main ne jawab diya, ji haan. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne poocha: "Kunwari se ya bewa se?" Main ne kaha, balkeh woh thayyib (bewa) hai. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Doshizah se kyun nahi, tum baahami athkheliyan karte?" Main ne arz kiya, meri behnen hain, is liye main ne chaha aisi aurat se shadi karoon jo unhen apne daman mein le, un ki kanghi patti kare aur un ki dekh bhaal rakhe, aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Ab tum pahunch rahe ho, to jab ghar pahuncho, aql aur ehtiyat se kaam lena." Phir aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne poocha: "Kya apna oont becho ge?" Main ne kaha (aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke israr ke baad) ji haan, to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne mujh se use ek auqiyah (chalees dirham) mein kharid liya. Phir Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) (Madinah) pahunche aur subah ko main bhi (apne muhallah se) aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hua, main masjid mein aaya aur aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ko main ne masjid ke darwazah par paya. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne poocha: "Abhi pahunche ho?" Main ne kaha, ji haan. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Apne oont ko chhod de aur masjid mein ja kar do raka'at namaz padh." Main ne masjid mein ja kar namaz padhi aur phir wapas aa gaya, aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne Bilal (Razi Allahu Anhu) ko hukum diya ke woh mujhe chalees dirham tol de, Bilal ne mujhe chandi tol di aur tarazu jhukaya, main le kar chal diya. Jab main ne pusht pheri, to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Mere paas Jabir ko bulao." Mujhe bulaya gaya to main ne socha, ab aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) mera oont wapas kar denge, aur mujhe us se zyada napasand koi aur cheez na thi, to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Apna oont le lo, aur tumhen us ki qeemat bhi di."
