Mustadrak Al Hakim 221
Auf bin Malik Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once, we camped with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at a place. I was awake during the night. (I looked around me) all the people and animals were asleep. In the entire camp, only my tent seemed to be the highest. I got up from my place and walked through the people towards the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sleeping quarters. (I was very surprised to see that) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was not in his tent. I touched the ground and it was cold (from which I realized that you have not been here for quite some time). I came out from there reciting "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un" (Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return) and was wondering where the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had gone. I went out of the camp, searching for him among the people. I saw a shadow in the distance. (To see what it was) I threw a stone towards it. (I realized that there was no danger so) I went near that shadow. When I saw, it was Muadh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him). We heard a sound there as if a mill was running (from which we understood that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was here and revelation was being revealed). We said to each other: If only the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would come now, it would be good, otherwise, we should stay here until morning. We stood there for a long time, then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called us: Are Muadh bin Jabal, Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah and Auf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with them) here? We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! Then you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came towards us and we joined you. We walked silently with you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and we did not say anything to you. (When you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reached the tent) you sat on your bed and said: Do you know what Allah Almighty gave me the choice of tonight? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah Almighty gave me the choice of either taking half of the Ummah to Paradise or intercession, so I chose intercession. We said: O Messenger of Allah, for those whom you will intercede, please pray that we may be among them. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: My intercession is for every Muslim.
" حضرت عوف بن مالک اشجعی رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں : ہم نے ایک مرتبہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ ایک مقام پر پڑاؤ ڈالا ۔ میں رات کے وقت جاگ رہا تھا ( میں نے اپنے چاروں طرف دیکھا ) سب انسان اور جانور سو رہے تھے ۔ پورے لشکر میں میرا کجاوا ہی سب سے اونچا نظر آ رہا تھا ۔ میں اپنی جگہ سے اٹھا اور لوگوں کے درمیان سے گزرتا ہوا نبی پاک ﷺ کی خواب گاہ کے قریب چلا گیا ( میں یہ دیکھ کر بہت حیران ہوا کہ ) رسول اللہ ﷺ اپنے خیمے میں موجود نہیں تھے ، میں نے زمین پر ہاتھ لگا کر دیکھا تو وہ بھی ٹھنڈی تھی ( جس سے مجھے اندازہ ہوا کہ آپ کافی دیر سے یہاں پر نہیں ہیں ) میں وہاں سے انا للہ و انا الیہ راجعون پڑھتے ہوئے نکلا اور یہ سوچ رہا تھا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کہاں تشریف لے گئے ہیں ۔ لوگوں کے درمیان آپ کو ڈھونڈتے ڈھونڈتے میں لشکر سے باہر جا نکلا ۔ میں نے دور ایک سایہ سا دیکھا ( یہ دیکھنے کے لیے کہ یہ کیا چیز ہے ) اس کی طرف ایک پتھر پھینکا ( مجھے اندازہ ہو گیا کہ کوئی خطرے کی بات نہیں ہے اس لیے ) میں اس سائے کے پاس چلا گیا ۔ جب دیکھا تو وہ معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ اور ابوعبیدہ بن جراح رضی اللہ عنہ تھے ۔ وہاں ہمیں ایسی آواز سنائی دی گویا کہ چکی چل رہی ہو ( جس سے ہم سمجھ گئے کہ نبی پاک ﷺ یہیں پر ہیں اور وحی نازل ہو رہی ہے ) ہم نے ایک دوسرے سے کہا : اگر ابھی رسول اللہ ﷺ آ جائیں تو ٹھیک ہے ورنہ صبح ہونے تک ہمیں یہیں رکنا چاہیے ۔ کافی دیر تک ہم وہاں کھڑے رہے پھر ہمیں نبی پاک نے آواز دی : کیا یہاں معاذ بن جبل ، ابوعبیدہ بن جراح اور عوف بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ ہیں ؟ ہم نے عرض کیا : جی ہاں یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! تب آپ ﷺ ہماری طرف تشریف لائے اور ہم آپ کے ساتھ ہو لیے ، ہم چپ چاپ آپ ﷺ کے ہمراہ چلتے رہے اور ہم نے آپ سے کسی قسم کی کوئی بات نہیں کی ( جب آپ ﷺ خیمے میں پہنچے تو ) آپ اپنے بستر پر بیٹھے اور فرمایا : کیا تمہیں معلوم ہے کہ آج کی رات اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھے کیا اختیار دیا ؟ ہم نے عرض کیا : اللہ اور اس کا رسول بہتر جانتے ہیں ۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا : اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھے آدھی امت جنت میں لے جانے یا شفاعت میں سے کوئی ایک چیز چن لینے کا اختیار دیا ، تو میں نے شفاعت کو چن لیا ۔ ہم نے عرض کیا : یا رسول اللہ ﷺ جن لوگوں کی آپ شفاعت کریں گے ، دعا فرمایئے کہ ہم بھی ان میں سے ہوں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا : میری شفاعت ہر مسلمان کے لیے ہے ۔
Hazrat Auf bin Malik Ashjai (رضي الله تعالى عنه) bayan karte hain : hum ne ek martaba Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath ek maqam par padav dala . Mein raat ke waqt jaag raha tha ( mein ne apne chaaron taraf dekha ) sab insan aur janwar so rahe the . Poore lashkar mein mera kajawa hi sabse uncha nazar aa raha tha . Mein apni jagah se utha aur logon ke darmiyan se guzarta hua Nabi Pak (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khawab gah ke qareeb chala gaya ( mein ye dekh kar bahut hairan hua ke ) Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apne khaime mein mojood nahin the , mein ne zameen par hath laga kar dekha to woh bhi thandi thi ( jis se mujhe andaza hua ke aap kaafi dair se yahan par nahin hain ) mein wahan se inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun padhte hue nikla aur ye soch raha tha ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kahan tashreef le gaye hain . Logon ke darmiyan aap ko dhondte dhondte mein lashkar se bahar ja nikla . Mein ne door ek saya sa dekha ( ye dekhne ke liye ke ye kya cheez hai ) is ki taraf ek pathar phenka ( mujhe andaza ho gaya ke koi khatre ki baat nahin hai is liye ) mein is saye ke paas chala gaya . Jab dekha to woh Muaz bin Jabal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) aur Abu Ubaidah bin al-Jarrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) the . Wahan humein aisi aawaz sunaai di goya ke chakki chal rahi ho ( jis se hum samjhe gaye ke Nabi Pak (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) yahin par hain aur wahi nazil ho rahi hai ) hum ne ek doosre se kaha : agar abhi Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aa jayen to theek hai warna subah hone tak humein yahin rukna chahiye . Kaafi dair tak hum wahan khade rahe phir humein Nabi Pak ne aawaz di : kya yahan Muaz bin Jabal , Abu Ubaidah bin al-Jarrah aur Auf bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) hain ? Hum ne arz kiya : ji haan ya Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ! Tab aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hamari taraf tashreef laaye aur hum aap ke sath ho liye , hum chup chap aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hamrah chalte rahe aur hum ne aap se kisi qism ki koi baat nahin ki ( jab aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) khaime mein pahunche to ) aap apne bistar par baithe aur farmaya : kya tumhein maloom hai ke aaj ki raat Allah Ta'ala ne mujhe kya ikhtiyar diya ? Hum ne arz kiya : Allah aur us ka Rasool behtar jante hain . Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya : Allah Ta'ala ne mujhe aadhi ummat jannat mein le jane ya shafa'at mein se koi ek cheez chun lene ka ikhtiyar diya , to mein ne shafa'at ko chun liya . Hum ne arz kiya : ya Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jin logon ki aap shafa'at karenge , dua farmaiye ke hum bhi un mein se hon , aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya : meri shafa'at har musalman ke liye hai .
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَوْفَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيَّ، يَقُولُ: نَزَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْزِلًا فَاسْتَيْقَظْتُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، فَإِذَا لَا أَرَى شَيْئًا أَطْوَلَ مِنْ مُؤْخِرَةِ رَحْلِي، قَدْ لَصَقَ كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ وَبَعِيرُهُ بِالْأَرْضِ، فَقُمْتُ أَتَخَلَّلُ النَّاسَ حَتَّى وَقَعْتُ إِلَى مَضْجَعِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِذَا هُوَ لَيْسَ فِيهِ، فَوَضَعْتُ يَدِي عَلَى الْفِرَاشِ فَإِذَا هُوَ بَارِدٌ، فَخَرَجْتُ أَتَخَلَّلُ النَّاسَ وَأَقُولُ: " {إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ} [البقرة: 156] ذُهِبَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى خَرَجْتُ مِنَ الْعَسْكَرِ كُلِّهِ فَنَظَرْتُ سَوَادًا فَرَمَيْتُ بِحَجَرٍ، فَمَضَيْتُ إِلَى السَّوَادِ، فَإِذَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ وَأَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، وَإِذَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا صَوْتٌ كَدَوِيِّ الرَّحَا أَوْ كَصَوْتِ الْهَضْبَاءِ حِينَ يُصِيبُهَا الرِّيحُ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُنَا لِبَعْضٍ: يَا قَوْمِ اثْبُتُوا حَتَّى تُصْبِحُوا أَوْ يَأْتِيَكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَبِثْنَا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ، ثُمَّ نَادَى «أَثَمَّ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ وَأَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ وَعَوْفُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ؟» فَقُلْنَا: نَعَمْ، فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيْنَا فَخَرَجْنَا لَا نَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ وَلَا يُخْبِرُنَا حَتَّى قَعَدَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ، فَقَالَ: «أَتَدْرُونَ مَا خَيَّرَنِي بِهِ رَبِّي اللَّيْلَةَ؟» فَقُلْنَا: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: «فَإِنَّهُ خَيَّرَنِي بَيْنَ أَنْ يُدْخِلَ نِصْفَ أُمَّتِي الْجَنَّةَ، وَبَيْنَ الشَّفَاعَةِ، فَاخْتَرْتُ الشَّفَاعَةَ» فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِهَا " قَالَ: «هِيَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ» . «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ. فَقَدِ احْتَجَّ بِسُلَيْمِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، وَأَمَّا سَائِرُ رُوَاتِهِ فَمُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» . وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ وَهِشَامُ بْنُ سِنْبَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ. «أَمَا حَدِيثُ سَعِيدٍ»
