It is narrated on the authority of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When one of you eats food, let him not wipe his fingers until he has sucked them. For he does not know in what portion of his food the blessing has been placed."
حضرت جابر سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” جب تم میں سے کوئی کھانا کھائے تو وہ اپنی انگلیوں کو صاف نہ کرے یہاں تک کہ وہ ان کو چوس لے۔ کیونکہ وہ نہیں جانتا کہ اس کے لیے کھانے کے کس حصہ میں برکت رکھی گئی ہے۔ “
Hazrat Jabar se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain ke janab rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Jab tum mein se koi khana khaye to wo apni ungliyon ko saaf na kare yahan tak ke wo un ko chos le. Kyunke wo nahi janta ke us ke liye khane ke kis hissa mein barkat rakhi gayi hai."
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "When one of you eats food, he should not wipe his fingers until he has licked them or had them licked."
حضرت ابن عباس سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” جب تم میں سے کوئی کھانا کھائے تو وہ انگلیوں کو صاف نہ کرے یہاں تک کہ وہ انگلیوں کو چاٹ لے یا چٹوا دے۔ “
Hazrat Ibn Abbas se riwayat hai, woh kehte hain keh Janab Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Jab tum mein se koi khana khaye to woh ungliyon ko saaf na kare yahan tak keh woh ungliyon ko chaat le ya chatwa de."
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). He said that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ate food, you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would lick your three fingers. Hazrat Anas said: You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered us to clean the bowl and you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "None of you knows in which part of his food the blessing has been placed."
حضرت انس سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب کھانا تناول فرماتے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنی تین انگلیوں کو چاٹ لیتے۔ حضرت انس کہتے ہیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہمیں حکم دیا کہ ہم پیالہ کو صاف کریں اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” تم میں سے کسی کو یہ بات معلوم نہیں ہے کہ اس کے لیئے کھانے کے کس حصہ میں برکت دی گئی ہے۔ “

Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Ka'b bin Mubarak narrates from his father. He says that I saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sucking his three fingers after eating.
حضرت عبد الرحمن بن کعب بن مبارک، اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو کھانے کے بعد اپنی تین انگلیاں چاٹتے ہوئے دیکھا۔
Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Kab bin Mubarak apne walid se riwayat karte hain woh kehte hain ke maine janab nabi kareem sallallahu alaihi wasallam ko khane ke baad apni teen ungliyan chaatte hue dekha.

حضرت عطاء سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر کا ارشاد ہے۔ کسی مسلمان کے لیے یہ بات بہتر نہیں ہے کہ جب وہ کھانا کھائے تو اپنے ہاتھ کو صاف کرلے یہاں تک کہ اس کو چاٹ لے یا چٹوا لے۔
Hazrat Ata se riwayat hai, woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Umar ka irshad hai. Kisi Musalman ke liye yeh baat behtar nahin hai ke jab woh khana khaye to apne hath ko saaf karle yahan tak ke usko chaat le ya chatwa le.
It is narrated on the authority of Mujahid that he said: I never saw Ibn Umar perform ablution after eating food. Ibn Umar used to lick his fingers after eating and then clean his hand with dust.
حضرت مجاہد سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت ابن عمر کو کھانا کھانے کے بعد کبھی وضو کرتے نہیں دیکھا۔ حضرت ابن عمر کھانے کے بعد اپنی انگلیاں چاٹتے تھے پھر اپنے ہاتھ کو مٹی سے صاف کرلیتے تھے۔

حضرت ابن عیینہ سے روایت ہے۔ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت عبید اللہ بن ابی یزید سے کہا : تم حضرت ابن عباس کے کھانے میں حاضر ہوتے تھے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : ہاں۔ میں نے پوچھا۔ تم نے انھیں کیا عمل کرتے دیکھا ؟ حضرت عبید اللہ نے کہا۔ میں نے انھیں اپنی تین انگلیاں چاٹتے ہوئے دیکھا کرتا تھا۔

Hazrat Mujahid narrated that Hazrat Ibn Umar used to lick his three fingers after finishing his meal. And he would say that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Man does not know in which part of the food the blessing lies.'
حضرت مجاہد، حضرت ابن عمر کے بارے میں روایت کرتے ہیں کہ جب وہ کھانا کھا چکتے تو اپنی تین انگلیاں چاٹتے تھے۔ اور کہتے تھے کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا ہے۔ ” آدمی کو معلوم نہیں ہے کہ کھانے کے کس حصہ میں برکت ہے۔ “
