Hazrat Amr ibn Murrah narrates that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would finish eating, he would say this prayer: All praise is for Allah, Who has bestowed His favor upon us and then guided us. And all praise is for Allah, Who has fed us and quenched our thirst. And for every good blessing that He has bestowed upon us.
حضرت عمرو بن مرہ فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب کھانے سے فارغ ہوتے تو یہ دعا کرتے سب تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے ہم پر احسان فرمایا پس ہمیں ہدایت عطا فرمائی۔ اور سب تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے ہمیں سیر کیا اور ہمیں سیراب کیا۔ اور ہر وہ اچھی نعمت جو اس نے ہمیں عطا کی۔

Aur sab tarifain us Allah ke liye hain jisne humain ser kiya aur humain sirab kiya. Aur har woh achhi naimat jo usne humain ata ki.
Hazrat Abu Saeed narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray after having a meal: "All praise is due to Allah, who has fed us, given us drink, and made us Muslims."
حضرت ابو سعید فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب کھانا کھالیتے تو یوں دعا فرماتے : سب تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے ہمیں کھلایا اور پلایا اور ہمیں مسلمان بنایا۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed farmate hain keh Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) jab khana khalaytay to yun dua farmatay: Sab tarifain is Allah ke liye hain jis ne hamain khilaya aur pilaya aur hamain musalman banaya.
Harith bin Suwaid narrated that when Salman (RA) ate food, he would pray, "All praise is due to Allah, who sufficed us in our expenditure and expanded for us in our provision."
حضرت حارث بن سوید فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت سلمان جب کھانا کھالیتے تو یوں دعا فرماتے سب تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے ہمارے خرچ کی کفایت کی۔ اور ہمارے رزق میں وسعت بخشی۔

حضرت اسماعیل بن ابو سعید فرماتے ہیں کہ جب کھانا رکھ دیا جاتا تو حضرت ابو سعید یوں فرماتے : سب تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے ہمیں کھلایا اور پلایا۔ اور ہمیں مسلمان بنایا۔

Hazrat Ibn Abbad or Ibn Muabbad narrates that Hazrat Ali said, "Do you know what is the right of food?" The narrator says, "I asked, 'What is the right of food?'" Hazrat Ali said, "That you should say these words: 'I begin in the name of Allah. O Allah! Bless us in the sustenance that You have provided us.'" Then he said, "Do you know what is the gratitude for food?" I asked, "What is the gratitude for food?" He said, "That you should say these words: 'All praise is for Allah, who has fed us and given us drink.'"
حضرت ابن اعبد یا ابن معبد فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی نے ارشاد فرمایا : کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ کھانے کا حق کیا ہے ؟ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے پوچھا ! کہ کھانے کا حق کیا ہے ؟ حضرت علی نے ارشاد فرمایا : تو یہ کلمات کہے : اللہ کے نام سے شروع کرتا ہوں۔ اے اللہ ! جو رزق تو نے ہمیں عطا فرمایا تو ہمارے لیے اس میں برکت عطا فرما۔ پھر فرمایا : تم جانتے ہو کہ کھانے کا شکر کیا ہے ؟ میں نے پوچھا : کھانے کا شکر کیا ہے ؟ ارشاد فرمایا : کہ تم یہ کلمات کہو : سب تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے ہمیں کھلایا اور پلایا۔
Hazrat Ibn-e-Abad ya Ibn-e-Mabood farmate hain ki Hazrat Ali ne irshad farmaya: kya tum jante ho ki khane ka haq kya hai? Ravi kehte hain ki maine poocha ki khane ka haq kya hai? Hazrat Ali ne irshad farmaya: tum yeh kalmat kaho: Allah ke naam se shuru karta hun. Aye Allah! jo rizq tune humein ata farmaya to humare liye usme barkat ata farma. Phir farmaya: tum jante ho ki khane ka shukar kya hai? Maine poocha: khane ka shukar kya hai? Irshad farmaya: ki tum yeh kalmat kaho: Sab tarifain us Allah ke liye hain jisne humein khilaya aur pilaya.
Hazrat Zikwan bin Abi Saleh narrated that when food was presented to Hazrat Ayesha, she said: “Give the food its right and its right is to thank Allah after finishing it.”
حضرت ذکوان بن ابی صالح فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عائشہ کے سامنے کھانا پیش کیا گیا تو آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا : کھانے کو اس کا حق دو اور اس کا حق فارغ ہو کر اللہ کا شکر ادا کرنا ہے۔
Hazrat Zakwan bin Abi Saleh farmate hain ke Hazrat Ayesha ke samne khana pesh kiya gaya to aap ne irshad farmaya: Khane ko uska haq do aur uska haq farigh hokar Allah ka shukr ada karna hai.
Hazrat Anas bin Malik narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah is pleased with His servant who eats a morsel and praises Him for it, or drinks a sip and praises Him for it."
حضرت انس بن مالک فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : یقیناً اللہ راضی ہوتے ہیں اپنے اس بندے سے جو ایک لقمہ کھاتا ہے پھر اس پر اللہ کی تعریف کرتا ہے یا ایک گھونٹ پیتا ہے پھر اس پر اللہ کی تعریف کرتا ہے۔
Hazrat Anas bin Malik farmate hain ke Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya : Yaqinan Allah razi hote hain apne us bande se jo ek luqma khata hai phir us par Allah ki tareef karta hai ya ek ghoont pita hai phir us par Allah ki tareef karta hai.
Hazrat Utris ibn Arqoob narrates that Hazrat Abdullah said that the Prophet (PBUH) said: Whoever, at the time of covering the food, recites these words: I begin with the name of Allah, the best of all names, whatever is in the earth and whatever is in the heavens belongs to Him only. With His name, no disease can harm. O Allah! Grant blessings, health and cure in this food. So, this food will not harm anyone.
حضرت عتریس بن عرقوب فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عبداللہ نے ارشاد فرمایا جو شخص کھانا رکھے جانے کے وقت یہ کلمات پڑھے : اللہ کے نام سے شروع کرتا ہوں جو ناموں میں سب سے بہتر ہے ، اللہ ہی کے لیے ہے جو کچھ زمین میں ہے اور جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے۔ اس کے نام کے ساتھ کوئی بیماری نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتی۔ اے اللہ ! اس کھانے میں برکت اور عافیت اور شفا رکھ دے۔ پس یہ کھانا کسی کو بھی نقصان نہیں دے گا۔
Hazrat Atris bin Arqoob farmate hain ke Hazrat Abdullah ne irshad farmaya jo shakhs khana rakhe jane ke waqt ye kalmat parhe: Allah ke naam se shuru karta hun jo naamon mein sab se behtar hai, Allah hi ke liye hai jo kuch zameen mein hai aur jo kuch asmanon mein hai. Iske naam ke saath koi bimari nuqsan nahi pahucha sakti. Aye Allah! Is khane mein barkat aur aafiyat aur shifa rakh de. Pas ye khana kisi ko bhi nuqsan nahi dega.
Hazrat Hisham narrates that my father would not eat or drink anything, not even a drop of medicine, until he would recite these words, "All praise is for Allah, Who has guided us and fed us and gave us drink and bestowed upon us blessings. Allah is the Greatest." O Allah, Your blessings have accustomed us to all good, so we have reached the morning and the evening with all goodness because of this blessing. We ask You for the completeness of this blessing and for its gratitude. There is no goodness except Your goodness. And there is no god but You, the God of the righteous and the Cherisher of all the worlds. All praise is for Allah, Who is the Cherisher of all the worlds. There is no god but Allah. Whatever Allah wills. There is no power to do good except by His help. O Allah, bless us in the sustenance that You have provided us and save us from the punishment of Hell.
حضرت ہشام فرماتے ہیں کہ میرے والد کوئی بھی کھانا یا پینے کی چیز یہاں تک دوائی کا قطرہ بھی نہیں پیتے یا کھاتے تھے یہاں تک کہ یہ کلمات پڑھ لیا کرتے تھے سب تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے ہمیں ہدایت بخشی اور ہمیں کھلایا اور ہمیں پلایا اور ہمیں نعمتیں عطا فرمائیں اللہ ہی سب سے بڑا ہے۔ اے اللہ ! تیری نعمت نے ہمیں ہر شر سے مانوس بنا لیا ہے پس ہم نے صبح کی اور ہم نے شام کی تمام بھلائی کے ساتھ اس نعمت کی وجہ سے ۔ ہم تجھ سے سوال کرتے ہیں نعمت کے تمام ہونے کا اور اس کے شکر کا۔ تیری خیر کے سوا کوئی خیر نہیں ہے۔ اور تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں ہے۔ نیکو کاروں کے معبود ! اور تمام جہانوں کے پرور دگار، سب تعریف اس اللہ کے لیے ہے جو تمام جہانوں کا پروردگار ہے۔ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ جو اللہ چاہے۔ اس کی مدد کے بغیر نیکی کرنے کی طاقت نہیں ہے۔ اے اللہ ! جو رزق تو نے ہمیں عطا فرمایا ہے تو ہمارے لیے اس میں برکت فرما دے اور ہمیں جہنم کے عذاب سے بچا لے۔
Hazrat Hisham farmate hain ke mere walid koi bhi khana ya pine ki cheez yahan tak dawai ka qatra bhi nahi peete ya khate thay yahan tak ke yeh kalmat parh liya karte thay Sab tareefain is Allah ke liye hain jis ne humein hidayat bakhshi aur humein khilaya aur humein pilaya aur humein naimatain ata farmaein Allah hi sab se bada hai Ae Allah! Teri naimat ne humein har shar se manoos bana liya hai pas hum ne subah ki aur hum ne sham ki tamam bhalai ke sath is naimat ki wajah se Hum tujh se sawal karte hain naimat ke tamam hone ka aur is ke shukar ka Teri khair ke siwa koi khair nahi hai Aur tere siwa koi mabood nahi hai Nekokaron ke mabood! Aur tamam jahano ke parwardigaar sab tareef is Allah ke liye hai jo tamam jahano ka parwardigaar hai Allah ke siwa koi mabood nahi hai Jo Allah chahe is ki madad ke baghair neki karne ki taqat nahi hai Ae Allah! Jo rizq tu ne humein ata farmaya hai to humare liye is mein barkat farma de aur humein jahannam ke azab se bacha le
Hazrat Hilal narrates that when the food was served before Hazrat Urwah, he used to recite these words: "You are Pure from all defects. How good are the blessings that You have bestowed upon us, You are Pure from all defects. How good are the blessings that You have bestowed upon us, O our Lord, the Lord of our forefathers." Then he would recite the tasmiyah and place his hand [on the food].
حضرت ھلال فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عروہ کے سامنے جب کھانا رکھ دیا جاتا تو یہ کلمات پڑھتے : تو تمام عیوب سے پاک ہے کیا اچھی نعمتوں سے تو نے ہمیں سرفراز فرمایا تو تمام عیوب سے پاک ہے کیا اچھی نعمتیں تو نے ہمیں عطا فرمائیں ۔ اے ہمارے پروردگار ، رب اور ہمارے آباؤ اجداد کے پروردگار، پھر آپ تسمیہ پڑھتے اور اپنا ہاتھ رکھتے۔
Hazrat Hilal farmate hain keh Hazrat Urwah ke samne jab khana rakh diya jata to yeh kalmat parhte: Tu tamam uyoob se pak hai kya achi naimaton se tu ne hamen sarfraz farmaya tu tamam uyoob se pak hai kya achi naimaten tu ne hamen ata farmayein. Aye hamare parwardigaar, Rabb aur hamare abaao ajdad ke parwardigaar, phir aap tasmiya parhte aur apna hath rakhte.
Hazrat Tameem bin Salama narrates that I have been told that when a person takes Allah's name at the beginning of the meal and praises Allah at the end of the meal, then he will not be questioned about the blessing of this food.
حضرت تمیم بن سلمہ فرماتے ہیں کہ مجھے بیان کیا گیا ہے کہ جب کوئی شخص کھانے کے شروع میں اللہ کا نام لیتا ہے اور کھانے کے آخر میں اللہ کی حمد بیان کرتا ہے، تو اس سے اس کھانے کی نعمت کے متعلق سوال نہیں کیا جائے گا۔
Hazrat Tamim bin Salma farmate hain keh mujhe bayan kiya gaya hai keh jab koi shakhs khane ke shuru mein Allah ka naam leta hai aur khane ke akhir mein Allah ki hamd bayan karta hai, to us se us khane ki naimat ke mutalliq sawal nahi kiya jayega.
