Abu'z-Zinad said: I heard Farwah ibn Zaid, Sulaiman ibn Yasar, and Talhah ibn Abdullah ibn Awf (رض) saying: When the grandmother is closer from the mother's side, then she has more right to inheritance.
ابو الزناد کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت خارجہ بن زید، سلیمان بن یسار اور طلحہ بن عبداللہ بن عوف (رض) کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ جب ماں کی جانب کی دادی زیادہ قریب ہو تو وہی میراث کی زیادہ حق دار ہے۔
Abu al-Zinad kehte hain ki maine Hazrat Khareja bin Zaid, Sulaiman bin Yasar aur Talha bin Abdullah bin Auf (RA) ko ye farmate hue suna ki jab maan ki jaanib ki dadi ziada qareeb ho to wohi miras ki ziada haqdaar hai.
Abdullah bin Zakwan narrates that Hazrat Kharija bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) said that when the maternal grandmother is closer in relation to the deceased than the paternal grandmother, she will inherit one-sixth of the estate. And when the paternal grandmother is closer in relation to the deceased than the maternal grandmother, the one-sixth will be divided between the two of them.
عبداللہ بن ذکوان نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت خارجہ بن زید (رض) نے فرمایا کہ جب ماں کی جانب کی دادی باپ کی جانب کی دادی سے زیادہ قریب ہو تو مال کا چھٹا حصّہ اسی کو ملے گا، اور جب باپ کی جانب کی دادی ماں کی جانب کی دادی سے قریب ہو تو مال کا چھٹا حصّہ ان دونوں کے درمیان تقسیم ہوگا۔
Abdullah bin Zakwan naql farmate hain ke Hazrat Khareja bin Zaid (RA) ne farmaya ke jab maan ki jaanib ki dadi baap ki jaanib ki dadi se zyada qareeb ho to maal ka chhata hissa isi ko milega, aur jab baap ki jaanib ki dadi maan ki jaanib ki dadi se qareeb ho to maal ka chhata hissa in donon ke darmiyan taqseem hoga.
Narrated by Kharijah bin Zaid, on the authority of Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: When the maternal grandmother is closer in kinship than the paternal grandmother, she will receive one-sixth of the inheritance. And when the paternal grandmother is closer in kinship than the maternal grandmother, the one-sixth will be divided between the two of them.
خارجہ بن زید حضرت زید بن ثابت (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں فرمایا کہ جب ماں کی جانب کی دادی باپ کی جانب کی دادی سے زیادہ قریب ہو تو مال کا چھٹا حصّہ اسی کو ملے گا، اور جب باپ کی جانب کی دادی ماں کی جانب کی دادی سے قریب ہو تو مال کا چھٹا حصّہ ان دونوں کے درمیان تقسیم ہوگا۔
Kharija bin Zaid Hazrat Zaid bin Sabit (RA) se riwayat karte hain farmaya ke jab maan ki janib ki dadi baap ki janib ki dadi se ziada qareeb ho to maal ka chhata hissa isi ko milega, aur jab baap ki janib ki dadi maan ki janib ki dadi se qareeb ho to maal ka chhata hissa in donon ke darmiyan taqseem hoga.
According to popular tradition, Hazrat Ali (R.A.) and Zaid (R.A.) said that the grandmother who is closer [in relation] will get a share [of inheritance].
شعبی روایت کرتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) اور زید (رض) نے دادیوں کے بارے میں فرمایا کہ ان میں سے زیادہ قریب کی دادی کو حصّہ ملے گا۔
Shabi riwayat karte hain ke Hazrat Ali (RA) aur Zaid (RA) ne dadion ke bare mein farmaya ke in mein se zyada qareeb ki dadi ko hissa mile ga.
Khalid narrates the saying of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that out of two grandmothers, the one closer in relation will inherit.
خالد حضرت محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا ارشاد نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ دو دادیوں میں سے جو زیادہ رشتے میں قریب ہو اسی کو میراث ملے گی۔
Khalid Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) ka irshad naqal farmate hain keh do dadion mein se jo zyada rishte mein qareeb ho usi ko wirasat mile gi.
Ammar, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrates from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (R.A.) that when a grandmother is closer in relation than others, then she is the most deserving of the wealth.
عمار مولیٰ بنی ہاشم حضرت زید بن ثابت (رض) سے نقل کرتے ہیں کہ جب کوئی دادی دوسروں سے زیادہ قریب ہو تو وہی مال کی زیادہ حق دار ہے۔
Ammar mola bani Hashim Hazrat Zaid bin Sabit (RA) se naqal karte hain ki jab koi dadi dusron se ziada qareeb ho to wohi maal ki ziada haqdaar hai.
