Hazrat Anas narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fell from a horse and his right side was injured. We went to visit him and it was time for prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made us sit and led the prayer, and we also prayed sitting behind him. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer, he said that an Imam is appointed so that he may be followed. When he says Takbeer, you should also say Takbeer. When he bows down, you should also bow down. When he says "Sami Allahu liman hamidah", you should say "Rabbana lakal hamd". When he prays sitting, you should all pray sitting.
حضرت انس فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) گھوڑے سے گرے اور آپ کا دایاں پہلو زخمی ہوگیا، ہم آپ کی عیادت کے لیے حاضر ہوئے تو نماز کا وقت ہوگیا۔ آپ حضور (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہمیں بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھائی اور ہم نے بھی آپ کے پیچھے بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھی۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز مکمل کرلی تو فرمایا کہ امام اس لیے بنایا جاتا ہے تاکہ اس کی اقتداء کی جائے۔ جب وہ تکبیر کہے تو تم بھی تکبیر کہو، جب وہ رکوع کرے تو تم بھی رکوع کرو، جب وہ سَمِعَ اللَّہُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَہُ کہے تو تم رَبَّنَا وَلَک الْحَمْدُ کہو۔ جب وہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو تم سب بھی بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھو۔
Hazrat Anas farmate hain keh Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ghoray se giray aur aap ka daayan pehlu zakhmi hogaya, hum aap ki ayadat ke liye hazir huay to namaz ka waqt hogaya. Aap Huzoor (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne humein beth kar namaz parhayi aur humne bhi aap ke peeche beth kar namaz parhi. Jab aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne namaz mukammal karli to farmaya keh Imam is liye banaya jata hai taake uski iqtida ki jaye. Jab woh takbeer kahe to tum bhi takbeer kaho, jab woh ruku kare to tum bhi ruku karo, jab woh Sami Allahu Liman Hamidah kahe to tum Rabbana Walakal Hamd kaho. Jab woh beth kar namaz parhe to tum sab bhi beth kar namaz parho.
Hazrat Aisha narrates that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fell ill, so some of your companions came to visit you. When it was time for prayer, you led them in prayer while sitting. They started praying while standing, so you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gestured to them to pray while sitting. So they sat down. When you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer, you said that the Imam is made so that he may be followed, when he bows down, you also bow down, when he raises his head from bowing, you also raise your head from bowing and when he prays sitting, you also pray sitting.
حضرت عائشہ فرماتی ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کچھ بیمار ہوگئے تو آپ کے کچھ صحابہ آپ کی عیادت کے لیے حاضر ہوئے۔ اتنے میں نماز کا وقت ہوگیا تو آپ نے انھیں بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھائی۔ وہ کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھنے لگے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں اشارے سے کہا کہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھیں۔ چنانچہ وہ بیٹھ گئے۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز مکمل کرلی تو فرمایا امام اس لیے بنایا جاتا ہے تاکہ اس کی اقتداء کی جائے، جب وہ رکوع کرے تو تم بھی رکوع کرو، جب وہ رکوع سے سر اٹھائے تو تم بھی رکوع سے سر اٹھاؤ اور جب وہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھو۔
Hazrat Ayesha farmati hain ke ek martaba Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) kuchh bimar hogaye to aap ke kuchh sahaba aap ki ayadat ke liye hazir hue. Itne mein namaz ka waqt hogaya to aap ne unhen baith kar namaz parhayi. Woh kharay ho kar namaz parhne lage to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne unhen ishare se kaha ke baith kar namaz parhen. Chunache woh baith gaye. Jab aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne namaz mukammal karli to farmaya Imam is liye banaya jata hai taake us ki iqtida ki jaye, jab woh ruku kare to tum bhi ruku karo, jab woh ruku se sar uthaye to tum bhi ruku se sar uthao aur jab woh baith kar namaz parhe to tum bhi baith kar namaz parho.
Hazrat Jabir narrates that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fell off his horse and his foot was injured by a branch of a palm tree. We went to visit him and found him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offering prayer while sitting in one of the rooms of Hazrat Aisha. We joined the prayer standing behind him. Then we visited him a second time and found him offering prayer while sitting. We started offering prayer behind him while standing, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gestured us to sit. When he finished the prayer, he said, “An Imam is appointed to be followed, so when he prays standing then you too offer prayer standing, and when he prays sitting then you too offer prayer sitting. Do not stand while he is sitting as the Persians do with their dignitaries.”
حضرت جابر فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک مرتبہ گھوڑے سے نیچے گرے اور کھجور کے ایک تنے پر لگے جس سے آپ کے پاؤں میں چوٹ آگئی۔ ہم آپ کی عیادت کے لیے حاضر ہوئے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) حضرت عائشہ کے ایک کمرے میں بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھ رہے تھے۔ ہم نے کھڑے کھڑے آپ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھنا شروع کردی۔ پھر ہم دوسری مرتبہ آپ کی عیادت کے لیے حاضر ہوئے تو آپ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھ رہے تھے۔ ہم نے کھڑے ہو کر آپ کی اقتداء شروع کردی تو آپ نے ہمیں بیٹھنے کا اشارہ کیا۔ جب آپ نے نماز مکمل کرلی تو فرمایا کہ امام اس لیے بنایا جاتا ہے تاکہ اس کی اقتداء کی جائے۔ جب وہ کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھو اور جب وہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھو۔ جب وہ بیٹھا ہو تو تم کھڑے مت ہو جیسا کہ اہل فارس اپنے قابل تعظیم لوگوں کے ساتھ کرتے ہیں۔

Hum aap ki ayadat ke liye hazir hue to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Hazrat Ayesha ke ek kamre mein baith kar namaz parh rahe the. Hum ne kharay kharay aap ke peeche namaz parhna shuru kar di. Phir hum dusri martaba aap ki ayadat ke liye hazir hue to aap baith kar namaz parh rahe the. Hum ne kharay ho kar aap ki iqtida shuru kar di to aap ne hamein baithne ka ishara kiya. Jab aap ne namaz mukammal kar li to farmaya ke imam is liye banaya jata hai taake us ki iqtida ki jaye. Jab wo kharay ho kar namaz parhe to tum bhi kharay ho kar namaz parho aur jab wo baith kar namaz parhe to tum bhi baith kar namaz parho. Jab wo baitha ho to tum kharay mat ho jaisa ke ahl Faris apne qabil e tazim logon ke saath karte hain.
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Imam is appointed so that you may follow him. When he says Takbir, you should also say Takbir. When he recites (the Quran), you should remain silent. When he says 'Ghair-il-Maghdubi Alaihim Wa La Dhalleen', you should say 'Ameen'. When he bows down (in Ruku'), you should also bow down. When he says 'Sami Allahu Liman Hamidah', you should say 'Rabbana Lakal Hamd'. When he prostrates (in Sajdah), you should also prostrate. And when he sits to pray (in the second Rak'ah), you should also sit to pray."
حضرت ابوہریرہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ امام اس لیے بنایا جاتا ہے تاکہ تم اس کی اقتداء کرو، جب وہ تکبیر کہے تو تم بھی تکبیر کہو اور جب وہ قراءت کرے تو تم خاموش رہو، جب وہ غَیْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَیْہِمْ ، وَلاَ الضَّالِّینَ کہے تو تم آمین کہو۔ جب وہ رکوع کرے تو تم رکوع کرو۔ جب وہ سَمِعَ اللَّہُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَہُ کہے تو تم اللَّہُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَکَ الْحَمْدُ کہو۔ جب وہ سجدہ کرے تو تم سجدہ کرو اور جب وہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھو۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira se riwayat hai ki Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya ki Imam is liye banaya jata hai taaki tum uski iqtida karo, jab wo takbeer kahe to tum bhi takbeer kaho aur jab wo qirat kare to tum khamosh raho, jab wo ghairil maghdubi alaihim walad-dallin kahe to tum ameen kaho. Jab wo ruku kare to tum ruku karo. Jab wo sami allahu liman hamidah kahe to tum Allahuma rabbana lakal hamd kaho. Jab wo sajdah kare to tum sajdah karo aur jab wo baith kar namaz padhe to tum bhi baith kar namaz padho.
Hazrat Abu Zubair narrates that once Hazrat Jabir fell ill in Makkah. When his condition improved slightly, he came out and people also came out with him. When they reached a place on the way, it was time for prayer. Hazrat Jabir made people sit down and led the prayer, and people also sat behind him and offered the prayer.
حضرت ابو زبیر فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت جابر ایک مرتبہ مکہ میں بیمار ہوگئے۔ جب ان کی حالت قدرے بہتر ہوئی تو وہ نکلے اور لوگ بھی ان کے ساتھ نکلے۔ جب وہ راستے کی ایک منزل پر پہنچے تو نماز کا وقت ہوگیا۔ حضرت جابر نے لوگوں کو بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھائی اور لوگوں نے بھی ان کے پیچھے بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھی۔
Hazrat Abu Zubair farmate hain keh Hazrat Jabir ek martaba Makkah mein bimar hogaye. Jab un ki halat qadre behtar hui to woh nikle aur log bhi un ke sath nikle. Jab woh raaste ki ek منزل per pahunche to namaz ka waqt hogaya. Hazrat Jabir ne logon ko beth kar namaz parhaai aur logon ne bhi un ke peeche beth kar namaz parhi.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah narrates that the Imam (leader of the prayer) is an Ameer (ruler). If he prays standing, you pray standing. If he prays sitting, you pray sitting.
حضرت ابوہریرہ فرماتے ہیں کہ امام امیر ہے۔ اگر وہ کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھے تو تم کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھو۔ اگر وہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھو ۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira farmate hain keh imam ameer hai. Agar wo kharay ho kar namaz parhay to tum kharay ho kar namaz parho. Agar wo baith kar namaz parhay to tum bhi baith kar namaz parho.
Hazrat Qais bin Qahd narrates that once our Imam fell ill, we prayed according to his prayer, then Hazrat Abu Hurairah said that the Imam is Ameer, if he prays standing then you too should pray standing and if he prays sitting then you too should pray sitting.
حضرت قیس بن قہد فرماتے ہیں کہ ہمارے امام ایک مرتبہ بیمار ہوگئے، ہم نے ان کی نماز کے مطابق نماز پڑھی تو حضرت ابوہریرہ نے فرمایا کہ امام امیر ہے ، اگر وہ کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھو اور اگر وہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھو۔
Hazrat Qais bin Qahd farmate hain ke hamare Imam ek martaba bimar hogaye, hum ne un ki namaz ke mutabiq namaz parhi to Hazrat Abu Hurairah ne farmaya ke Imam ameer hai, agar wo kharay ho kar namaz parhe to tum bhi kharay ho kar namaz parho aur agar wo beth kar namaz parhe to tum bhi beth kar namaz parho.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Habirah narrates that Hazrat Usayd bin Hudair used to lead the prayer of his people, Banu Abdul Ash'al. Once he became ill and when he came (to the mosque) after his illness, the people said to him, "Please come forward and lead the prayer." He said, "I do not have the strength to lead the prayer." The people said, "As long as you are with us, no one else will lead us in prayer." Hazrat Usayd said to them, "Then all of you sit down." And they sat down, and he led them in prayer while sitting.
حضرت عبید اللہ بن ہبیرہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت اسید بن حضیر اپنی قوم بنو عبد الاشہل کی امامت کرایا کرتے تھے۔ وہ ایک مرتبہ بیمار ہوگئے اور اپنی بیماری کے بعد جب آئے تو لوگوں نے ان سے کہا کہ آپ آگے بڑھ کر نماز پڑھائیں۔ انھوں نے کہا کہ میں نماز پڑھانے کی طاقت نہیں رکھتا۔ لوگوں نے کہا کہ جب تک آپ ہیں ہمیں آپ کے علاوہ کوئی نماز نہیں پڑھائے گا۔ حضرت اسید نے ان سے کہا کہ پھر تم سب بیٹھ جاؤ اور انھوں نے انھیں بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھائی۔
Hazrat Ubaid Ullah bin Habira kehte hain ki Hazrat Usayd bin Khuzayr apni qaum Banu Abdil Ash'al ki imamat karaya karte thay. Wo ek martaba bimar hogaye aur apni bimari ke baad jab aaye to logon ne unse kaha ki aap aage badh kar namaz parhayain. Unhon ne kaha ki main namaz parhane ki taqat nahin rakhta. Logon ne kaha ki jab tak aap hain hamen aap ke alawa koi namaz nahin parhaye ga. Hazrat Usayd ne unse kaha ki phir tum sab baith jao aur unhon ne unhen baith kar namaz parhai.
Hazrat Qasim bin Muhammad narrates that Hazrat Muawiyah stated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When the Imam offers prayer while sitting, then you too should offer prayer while sitting. People were surprised at this statement of Hazrat Muawiyah.
حضرت قاسم بن محمد کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت معاویہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا کہ جب امام بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھو۔ لوگوں کو حضرت معاویہ کی اس بات پر تعجب ہوا۔
Hazrat Qasim bin Muhammad kahte hain ke Hazrat Muawiya ne bayan kiya ke Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya ke jab Imam baith kar namaz parhe to tum bhi baith kar namaz parho. Logon ko Hazrat Muawiya ki is baat par tajjub hua.
