Abdullah bin Muhammad said that once Imam Zain-ul-Abidin (may Allah have mercy on him) sent me to Rubai (may Allah be pleased with her). I asked her about the way the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform ablution. She brought out a vessel, which could have been one Mudd or one and a half Mudd, and said that she used to pour water from this vessel for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would first pour water on both his hands, then wash his face three times, gargle three times, put water in his nose three times, wash his right hand three times and his left hand three times, wipe his head from front to back, then wash his feet three times. Your cousin, Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), also came to me to ask the same question and I gave him the same answer. But he said to me that he finds the command to wipe two parts and wash two parts in the Book of Allah.

عبداللہ بن محمد کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ مجھے امام زین العابدین رحمہ اللہ نے حضرت ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس بھیجا، میں نے ان سے نبی ﷺ کے وضو کا طریقہ پوچھا، تو انہوں نے ایک برتن نکالا جو ایک مد یا سوا مد کے برابر ہو گا اور فرمایا کہ میں اس برتن میں نبی ﷺ کے لئے پانی نکالتی تھی، نبی ﷺ پہلے اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں پر پانی بہاتے تھے، پھر تین مرتبہ چہرہ دھوتے تھے، تین مرتبہ کلی کرتے تھے، تین مرتبہ ناک میں پانی ڈالتے تھے، تین مرتبہ دائیں ہاتھ کو اور تین مرتبہ بائیں ہاتھ کو دھوتے تھے، سر کا آگے، پیچھے سے مسح کرتے تھے، پھر تین مرتبہ پاؤں دھوتے تھے، تمہارے ابن عم یعنی ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما بھی میرے پاس یہی سوال پوچھنے کے لئے آئے تھے اور میں نے انہیں بھی یہی جواب دیا تھا لیکن انہوں نے مجھ سے کہا کہ مجھے تو کتاب اللہ میں دو چیزوں پر مسح اور دو چیزوں کو دھونے کا حکم ملتا ہے۔

Abdullah bin Muhammad said that once, Rabi'a (may Allah be pleased with her) told me that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) often used to visit us. I used to draw water for him in this vessel. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would first pour water over both of his hands, then wash his face three times, rinse his mouth three times, inhale water into his nose three times, wash his right hand three times, then his left hand three times, wipe his head front to back, then wash each foot three times and wipe his ears, front and back.

عبداللہ بن محمد کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ مجھے حضرت ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا نے بتایا کہ نبی ﷺ اکثر ہمارے یہاں آتے تھے، میں اس برتن میں نبی ﷺ کے لئے پانی نکالتی تھی، نبی ﷺ پہلے اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں پر پانی بہاتے تھے، پھر تین مرتبہ چہرہ دھوتے تھے، تین مرتبہ کلی کرتے تھے، تین مرتبہ ناک میں پانی ڈالتے تھے، تین مرتبہ دائیں ہاتھ کو اور تین مرتبہ بائیں ہاتھ کو دھوتے تھے، سر کا آگے پیچھے سے مسح کرتے تھے، پھر تین مرتبہ پاؤں دھوتے تھے اور کانوں کا بھی آگے پیچھے سے مسح کرتے تھے۔

It is narrated by Rubai' R.A. that we used to participate in Jihad with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). We would give water to the people and serve them. We would also bring the wounded and martyrs to Madinah.

حضرت ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ ہم لوگ نبی ﷺ کے ہمراہ جہاد میں شرکت کر کے لوگوں کو پانی پلاتی اور ان کی خدمت کرتی تھیں اور زخمیوں اور شہداء کو مدینہ منورہ لے کر آتی تھیں۔
Hazrat Rabia ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ki hum log Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hamrah jihad mein shirkat kar ke logon ko pani pilati aur un ki khidmat karti thin aur zakhmion aur shuhada ko Madina Munawwara le kar aati thin.
It is narrated on the authority of Rubi' (RA) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to our house. We placed a basin of water for him to perform ablution. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) washed each part of his body three times and wiped his head twice, starting from the front of his head and inserting his fingers into his ears.

حضرت ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ ہمارے یہاں تشریف لائے، ہم نے نبی ﷺ کے لئے وضو کا برتن رکھا، نبی ﷺ نے تین تین مرتبہ اپنے اعضاء کو دھویا اور سر کا مسح دو مرتبہ فرمایا اور اس کا آغاز سر کے پچھلے حصے سے کیا اور کانوں کے سوراخوں میں انگلیاں داخل کیں۔
Hazrat Rabia Radi Allaho Anha se marvi hai ki aik martaba Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam humare yahan tashreef laye, hum ne Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ke liye wuzu ka bartan rakha, Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne teen teen martaba apne aaza ko dhoya aur sar ka masah do martaba farmaya aur is ka aghaz sar ke pichle hisse se kiya aur kaano ke sorakhon mein ungliyan dakhil keen.
It is narrated on the authority of Rubai' Radi Allahu Anha that once Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution and put his fingers in the holes of his ears.

حضرت ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے وضو کیا اور کانوں کے سوراخوں میں انگلیاں داخل کیں۔
Hazrat Rabia ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne wuzu kiya aur kaano ke suraakh mein ungliyan dakhil ki.
It is narrated by Rubai' radi Allahu anha that once I went to the Prophet ﷺ and presented to him some fresh dates in a plate, along with some squirrels. The Prophet ﷺ put something in my hand and said, "Make some ornaments or clothes out of this."

حضرت ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں ایک تھالی میں کچھ تر کھجوریں رکھ کر اور کچھ گلہریاں لے کر حاضر ہوئی، نبی ﷺ نے میرے ہاتھ میں کچھ رکھ دیا اور فرمایا: ”اس کا زیور بنا لینا یا کپڑے بنا لینا۔“
Hazrat Rabia ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ki ek martaba mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein ek thali mein kuch tar khajoorein rakh kar aur kuch gilahariyan le kar hazir hui, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mere hath mein kuch rakh diya aur farmaya: ”Is ka zewar bana lena ya kapde bana lena“
Lady Rubai' narrates that on my wedding day, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to me and sat on my bed. At that time, I had two young girls with me who were playing the daff and mentioning my forefathers who had died in the Battle of Badr. Among the verses they were reciting, there was one that said: "Among us is a Prophet who knows what is happening today and what will happen tomorrow." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not say this sentence."

حضرت ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ جس دن میری شادی ہوئی تو نبی ﷺ میرے پاس تشریف لائے اور میرے بستر پر اس جگہ بیٹھ گئے، اس وقت میرے یہاں دو بچیاں آئی ہوئی تھیں جو دف بجا رہی تھیں اور غزوہ بدر کے موقع پر فوت ہو جانے والے میرے آباؤ و اجداد کا تذکرہ کر رہی تھیں، ان اشعار میں جو وہ پڑھ رہی تھیں، ایک شعر یہ بھی تھا کہ ہم میں ایک ایسا نبی موجود ہے جو آج اور آئندہ کل ہونے والے واقعات کو جانتا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”یہ والا جو جملہ ہے، یہ نہ کہو۔“
Hazrat Rabia Radiallahu Anha se marvi hai keh jis din meri shadi hui to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mere pass tashreef laye aur mere bistar par us jaga beth gaye, us waqt mere yahan do bachiyan aayi hui thin jo daff baja rahi thin aur ghazwah badr ke mauqa par foot ho jaane wale mere abao o ajdad ka tazkira kar rahi thin, in ashaar mein jo wo parh rahi thin, ek sher yeh bhi tha keh hum mein ek aisa nabi maujood hai jo aaj aur aayinda kal hone wale waqiyat ko janta hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Yeh wala jo jumla hai, yeh na kaho."
It is narrated on the authority of Rubai (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution at her place. I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiping his head, from front to back, with his hands. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also wiped his temples and ears, inside and out.

Hazrat Rabia Razi Allah Anha se marvi hai keh aik martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unke yahan wazu kia, main ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko apne sar ke balon par aage peeche se masah karte huye dekha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apni kanpation aur kaanon ka bhi andar bahar se masah kia.
Rabi'a (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: I presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) some fresh dates in a plate and along with them were some truffles. He took some in his hand and said, "Make it into ornaments or into clothes."

حضرت ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں ایک تھالی میں کچھ تر کھجوریں رکھ کر اور کچھ گلہریاں لے کر حاضر ہوئی، نبی ﷺ نے میرے ہاتھ میں کچھ رکھ دیا اور فرمایا: ”اس کا زیور بنا لینا یا کپڑے بنا لینا۔“
Hazrat Rabia Radiallahu Anha se marvi hai ki aik martaba main Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein ek thali mein kuch tar khajoorein rakh kar aur kuch gihriyaan le kar hazir hui, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mere hath mein kuch rakh diya aur farmaya: ”Is ka zewar bana lena ya kapre bana lena."
It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Rubai' (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution at her place. I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiping over his hair, from front to back. He also wiped his temples and ears, inside and out, without disturbing the arrangement of his hair.

It is narrated on the authority of Rubai' radiyallahu anha that once, on the day of 10th Muharram, the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam sent a messenger to the settlements of the Ansar and announced that whoever among you has kept a fast today should complete their fast, and whoever has already eaten or drunk something should spend the rest of the day without eating or drinking.

حضرت ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے دس محرم کے دن انصار کی بستیوں میں ایک قاصد کو بھیجا اور اعلان کروا دیا کہ تم میں سے جس شخص نے آج روزہ رکھا ہوا ہو، اسے چاہیے کہ اپنا روزہ مکمل کر لے اور جس نے پہلے سے کچھ کھا پی لیا ہو، وہ دن کا باقی حصہ کچھ کھائے پیے بغیر ہی گزار دے۔
Hazrat Raabi razi Allah anha se marvi hai ki aik martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne 10 Muharram ke din Ansar ki bastion mein ek qasid ko bheja aur elan karwa diya ki tum mein se jis shakhs ne aaj roza rakha hua ho use chahie ki apna roza mukammal kar le aur jis ne pehle se kuch kha pi liya ho wo din ka baqi hissa kuch khaye piye baghair hi guzar de.
It is narrated on the authority of Rubai' Radi Allahu Anha that once the Prophet peace be upon him sent a messenger to the settlements of the Ansar on the tenth of Muharram and announced that whoever among you is fasting today should complete his fast, and whoever has already eaten or drunk something should spend the rest of the day without eating or drinking anything.

It is narrated on the authority of Rubai' RA that on the day of my marriage, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to me and sat on my bed. At that time, two young girls were present in my house, who were playing the tambourine and were mentioning my forefathers who were martyred in the Battle of Badr. In those verses that they were reciting, there was also a verse like this: "We have a Prophet among us who knows the events of today and the future." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not say this sentence."

Hazrat Rabia ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai keh jis din meri shadi hui to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mere pass tashreef laaye aur mere bistar par iss jagah baith gaye, iss waqt mere yahan do bachiyan aai hui thi jo daff baja rahi thi aur ghazwa badr ke mauqe par foot ho jaane wale mere abawo ajdad ka tazkara kar rahi thi, inn ashaar mein jo wo parh rahi thi, aik sher yeh bhi tha keh hum mein aik aisa nabi mojood hai jo aaj aur aayenda kal hone wale waqeat ko janta hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Yeh wala jo jumla hai yeh na kaho.“
It is narrated on the authority of Rubai' RA that once the Prophet (ﷺ) performed ablution at her place, I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) wiping his head from front to back, the Prophet (ﷺ) also wiped his temples and ears, inside and out, and did not disturb the hair from its natural state.
