Narrated by Usman bin Abi Al-Aas: Once I suffered from an ailment that brought me close to death. The Prophet (PBUH) came to visit me and said, "Hold (the area of pain) with your right hand and recite this seven times: 'A'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajid (I seek refuge in Allah and in His Power from the evil of what I find).' " I did as he instructed, and Allah removed my ailment. For this reason, I always emphasize it to my family and others.

سیدنا عثمان بن ابی عاص سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ مجھے ایسی تکلیف ہوئی جس نے مجھے موت کے قریب پہنچادیا نبی عیادت کے لئے تشریف لائے اور فرمایا: اپنے دائیں ہاتھ سے پکڑ کر سات مرتبہ یوں کہو، اعوذ با اللہ وقدرتہ من شر ما اجد۔ میں نے ایساہی کیا اور اللہ نے میری تکلیف دور کر دی اس وجہ سے میں اپنے اہل خانہ وغیرہ کو مسلسل اس کی تاکید کرتا رہتاہوں۔
Saina Usman bin Abi Aas se marvi hai keh aik martaba mujhe aisi takleef hui jis ne mujhe mout ke qareeb pahuncha diya Nabi aiyadat ke liye tashreef laye aur farmaya: apne dayen hath se pakar kar saat martaba yun kaho, Aoozu billah-e-wa qudratihi min shar ma ajid. Maine aisa hi kiya aur Allah ne meri takleef door kar di is wajah se main apne ahl khana waghaira ko musalsal is ki takid karta rehta hun.
It is narrated on the authority of Usman bin Abi Aas and a woman of the Banu Qais tribe, that they heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: O Allah, forgive my sins, my mistakes, and my intentional sins. And according to another narration, I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) supplicating: O Allah, I ask You for guidance in my affairs and I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul.

سیدنا عثمان بن ابی عاص اور بنوقیس کی ایک خاتون سے مروی ہے کہ انہوں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے اے اللہ میرے گناہوں لغزشوں اور جان بوجھ کر کئے جانے والے گناہوں کو معاف فرما اور دوسرے کے بقول میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ دعا کرتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ اے اللہ میں تجھ سے اپنے معاملات میں رشد و ہدایت کا طلب گار ہوں اور اپنے نفس کے شر سے تیری پناہ میں آتاہوں۔
Saina Usman bin Abi Aas aur binuqais ki aik khatoon se marvi hai keh unhon ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko yeh farmate huye suna hai aye Allah mere gunahon laghzishon aur jaan boojh kar kiye jane wale gunahon ko maaf farma aur dusre ke baqaul main ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko yeh dua karte huye suna hai keh aye Allah main tujh se apne mamlaat mein rushd o hidayat ka talibgar hun aur apne nafs ke shar se teri panah mein aata hun.
It is narrated by Sayyidina Usman that once I submitted in the court of the Prophet: O Messenger of Allah! Appoint me as the Imam of my people. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You are the Imam of your people. Pray considering the weakest among you and appoint a Muazzin who does not take any salary for his Adhan.

It is narrated by Usman that once I requested in the court of the Prophet: "O Messenger of Allah! Appoint me as the Imam of my people." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You are the Imam of your people. Offer prayer considering the weakest amongst you and appoint a Mu'adhdhin who does not take any salary for his Adhan."

It is narrated by Usman that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: Fasting is a shield for you, just as a shield is used in battle. And the last thing the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised me when sending me to Taif was, "O Usman! Shorten the prayers, for there are elderly and needy people amongst them."

سیدنا عثمان سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے روزہ اسی طرح ڈھال ہے جیسے میدان جنگ میں تم ڈھال استعمال کرتے ہو۔
اور نبی ﷺ نے مجھے طائف بھیجتے وقت سب سے آخر میں جو وصیت کی تھی وہ یہ تھی کہ اے عثمان نماز مختصر پڑھانا کیونکہ لوگوں میں بوڑھے اور ضرورت مند بھی ہوتے ہیں۔
Sayyidna Usman se marvi hai ki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai roza isi tarah dhaal hai jaise maidan e jang mein tum dhaal istemal karte ho. Aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe Taif bhejte waqt sab se akhir mein jo vasiyat ki thi wo ye thi ki aye Usman namaz mukhtasir parhana kyunki logon mein budhe aur zarurat mand bhi hote hain.
Narrated by Syedna Usman bin Abi Al-Aas: Once I suffered from an ailment that brought me close to death. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit me and said: "Hold with your right hand and recite seven times: I seek refuge in Allah and His Power from the evil of what I find." I did so, and Allah removed my ailment. Since then, I have continued to emphasize this to my family and others.

It is narrated on the authority of Usman that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Lead your people in prayer and when you lead them, shorten the prayer because among them are children, the elderly, the weak, the sick, and those with needs. And when you pray alone, pray as you wish."

سیدنا عثمان سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: تم اپنی قوم کی امامت کرنا اور جب امامت کرنا تو نماز مختصر پڑھانا کیونکہ لوگوں میں بچے بوڑھے کمزور، بیمار اور ضرورت مند بھی ہوتے ہیں اور جب تنہا نماز پڑھنا تو جس طرح مرضی پڑھنا۔
Syedna Usman se marvi hai keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Tum apni qaum ki imamat karna aur jab imamat karna to namaz mukhtasar parhana kyunki logon mein bache budhe kamzor, bimar aur zaroorat mand bhi hote hain aur jab tanha namaz parhna to jis tarah marzi parhna.
It is narrated on the authority of Usman that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: Lead your people in prayer, and when you lead them, shorten the prayer. For among them are the young, the old, the weak, the sick, and those with needs. And when you pray alone, pray as you wish.

It is narrated by Sayyiduna Uthman that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, advised me last of all, that when you lead the people in prayer, shorten the prayer for them.

Sayyidna Usman se marvi hai keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe sab se akhir mein wasiyat ki thi woh yeh thi keh jab tum logon ki imamat karna to unhen namaz mukhtasar parhana.
It is narrated on the authority of Usman that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying, "Fasting is a shield for you, just as a shield is used in battle."
And I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying, "The best fasts are three days of every month."

سیدنا عثمان سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے روزہ اسی طرح کی ڈھال ہے جیسے میدان جنگ میں تم ڈھال استعمال کرتے ہو۔
اور میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ بہترین روزہ ہر مہینے میں تین دن ہوتے ہیں۔

aur maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai keh behtarin roza har maheene mein teen din hote hain.
It is narrated on the authority of our master Uthman, who said: Every night a caller announces that I will not ask about My servants from anyone else. Who is there who supplicates to Me so I may respond to their supplication? Who is there who asks of Me so I may grant them their request? This announcement continues until the true dawn. And who is there who seeks forgiveness from Me so I may forgive them? And this announcement continues until the break of dawn.
سیدنا عثمان سے مروی ہے کہ فرمایا: ہر رات ایک منادی اعلان کرتا ہے کہ میں اپنے بندوں کے متعلق کسی دوسرے سے نہیں پوچھوں گا کون ہے جو مجھ سے دعا کر ے اور میں اس کی دعا قبول کر لوں کون ہے جو مجھ سے سوال کر ے اور میں اسے عطا کر وں یہ اعلان صبح صادق تک ہوتا رہتا ہے اور کون ہے جو مجھ سے معافی مانگے کہ میں اسے معاف کر دو اور یہ اعلان طلوع فجر تک ہوتا رہتا ہے۔
Sayyidna Usman se marvi hai ki farmaya: Har raat ek munadi elan karta hai ki mein apne bandon ke mutalliq kisi dusre se nahi puchunga kaun hai jo mujhse dua kare aur mein uski dua kubool kar lun kaun hai jo mujhse sawal kare aur mein use ata karun yeh elan subah sadiq tak hota rehta hai aur kaun hai jo mujhse maafi mange ki mein use maaf kar dun aur yeh elan talu-e-fajr tak hota rehta hai.
Hasan says that once, Uthman bin Abi Al-'As passed by Kulab bin Umayya who was sitting with a collector of Zakat in Basra. Uthman asked, "Why are you sitting here?". Kulaib replied, "Ziyad has appointed me to this position." Uthman said, "Shall I not tell you a hadith I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" Kulaib said, "Why not?" Uthman said, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that Allah's Prophet David (peace be upon him) used to wake his family up at a specific time of the night and say 'O family of David! Get up and pray, for Allah accepts prayers at this time, except for the prayer of a magician or a collector of Zakat.'" Upon hearing this, Kulab bin Umayya boarded his boat, went to Ziyad, and resigned from his position, which he accepted.

حسن کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عثمان بن ابی عاص کلاب بن امیہ کے پاس سے گزرے وہ بصرہ میں ایک عشر وصول کرنے والے کے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے تھے سیدنا عثمان نے پوچھا کہ تم یہاں کیوں بیٹھے ہو؟ کلاب نے عرض کیا: کہ زیاد نے مجھے اس جگہ کا ذمہ دار مقرر کر دیا انہوں نے فرمایا کہ میں تمہیں ایک حدیث نہ سناؤں جو میں نے نبی ﷺ سے سنی ہے کلاب نے کہا کیوں نہیں فرمایا: میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ اللہ کے نبی سیدنا داؤد رات کے ایک مخصوص وقت میں اپنے اہل خانہ کو جگا کر فرماتے تھے اے آل داؤد اٹھو اور نماز پڑھو کہ اس وقت اللہ تعالیٰ دعا قبول فرماتا ہے سوائے جادوگر یا عشر وصول کرنے والے کے یہ سن کر کلاب بن امیہ اپنی کشتی پر سوار ہوئے اور زیاد کے پاس پہنچ کر استعفی دے دیا اس نے ان کا استعفی قبول کر لیا۔
Hasan kehte hain ke ek martaba Sayyidna Usman bin Abi Aas Kalab bin Umayya ke paas se guzre woh Basra mein ek ushr wasool karne wale ke paas baithe hue the Sayyidna Usman ne poocha ke tum yahan kyun baithe ho Kalab ne arz kiya ke Ziad ne mujhe is jagah ka zimmedar muqarrar kar diya unhon ne farmaya ke main tumhen ek hadees na sunaun jo main ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se suni hai Kalab ne kaha kyun nahin farmaya main ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai ke Allah ke Nabi Sayyidna Daud raat ke ek makhsus waqt mein apne ahle khana ko jaga kar farmate the aye aal Daud utho aur namaz parho ke is waqt Allah ta'ala dua qabool farmata hai siwaye jadugar ya ushr wasool karne wale ke ye sun kar Kalab bin Umayya apni kashti par sawar hue aur Ziad ke paas pahunch kar isteefa de diya us ne un ka isteefa qabool kar liya.
