Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (RA): People used to say: When you sit for answering the call of nature, do not face the Qibla or Bait-ul-Maqdis (Jerusalem). Abdullah bin Umar (RA) said: I climbed over the roof of my house and saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on two bricks answering the call of nature with his face towards Bait-ul-Maqdis (Jerusalem).

(٤٣٥) عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ لوگ کہتے تھے : جب تم قضائے حاجت کے لیے بیٹھو تو قبلہ اور بیت المقدس کی طرف منہ نہ کرو۔ عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں : میں اپنے گھر کی چھت پر چڑھا تو میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دو اینٹوں پر دیکھا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) قضائے حاجت کے لیے بیت المقدس کی طرف منہ کیے ہوئے تھے۔
(435) Abdullah bin Umar (RA) farmate hain ke log kahte the: Jab tum qazae hajat ke liye baitho to qibla aur Baitul Muqaddas ki taraf munh na karo. Abdullah bin Umar (RA) farmate hain: Main apne ghar ki chhat par chadha to mainne Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko do eenton par dekha ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) qazae hajat ke liye Baitul Muqaddas ki taraf munh kiye hue the.
Narrated Abdullah bin Umar: One day I climbed on the roof of my house and saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) answering the call of nature, while sitting on two bricks facing Sham and his back towards the Qibla.

(٤٣٧) سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں ایک دن اپنے گھر کی چھت پر چڑھا تو میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو قضائے حاجت کے لیے دو اینٹوں پر بیٹھے ہوئے دیکھا اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے منہ شام کی طرف اور کمر قبلہ کی طرف کی ہوئی تھی۔
(437) Syedna Abdullah bin Umar (RA) farmate hain ke main aik din apne ghar ki chhat par charha to mainne Rasul Allah (SAW) ko qazae hajat ke liye do eenton par baithe hue dekha aur aap (SAW) ne munh sham ki taraf aur kamar qibla ki taraf ki hui thi.
Marwan Asfar said: I saw Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). He positioned his riding animal towards the Qibla, then he sat and urinated. I said: O Abu Abdur-Rahman! Has it not been forbidden to do so? He said: Why not! It is forbidden to do so in an open place, but when there is something between you and the Qibla that covers you (i.e., a screen), then there is no harm in it.

(٤٣٨) مروان اصفر کہتے ہیں : میں نے ابن عمر (رض) کو دیکھا، انھوں نے اپنی سواری قبلہ کی طرف بٹھائی ‘ پھر بیٹھ کر پیشاب کیا۔ میں نے کہا : اے ابو عبد الرحمن ! کیا اس سے منع نہیں کیا گیا ؟ تو انھوں نے فرمایا : کیوں نہیں ! کھلی جگہ میں اس سے منع کیا گیا ہے، لیکن جب تیرے اور قبلہ کے درمیان کوئی چیز ہو جو تجھ کو ڈھانپ دے (یعنی کوئی پردہ ہوجائے) تو اس میں کوئی حرج نہیں۔
(438) Marwan Asfar kahte hain : mein ne Ibn Umar (RA) ko dekha, unhon ne apni sawari qibla ki taraf bithayi ‘ phir baith kar peshab kiya. mein ne kaha : aye Abu Abdur Rahman ! kya is se mana nahi kiya gaya ? to unhon ne farmaya : kyon nahi ! khuli jagah mein is se mana kiya gaya hai, lekin jab tere aur qibla ke darmiyan koi cheez ho jo tujhe dhaanp de (yani koi parda hojaye) to is mein koi harj nahi.
(440) It is narrated by Sayyidina Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to forbid us from facing the Qibla or turning our backs towards the Qibla with our private parts, when we urinated. Then I saw you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) one year before your death, urinating while facing the Qibla.
(B) In Sunan Abi Dawud, the words are: I saw you one year before your soul was taken, sitting while facing the direction of the Qibla.

(٤٤٠) سیدنا جابر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہم کو منع کیا کرتے تھے کہ ہم قبلہ کی طرف منہ کریں یا اپنی شرمگاہوں کے ساتھ قبلہ کی طرف پشت کریں، جب ہم پانی بہائیں (یعنی پیشاب کریں) ، پھر میں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو آپ کی وفات سے ایک سال پہلے قبلہ کی طرف منہ کر کے پیشاب کرتے ہوئے دیکھا۔
(ب) سنن ابوداؤد میں یہ الفاظ ہیں کہ میں نے آپ کی روح قبض ہونے سے ایک سال پہلے دیکھا کہ آپ قبلہ کی جانب منہ کر کے بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔
(440) syedna jabir (rz) se riwayat hai ki rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) hum ko mana karte thy ke hum qibla ki taraf munh karen ya apni sharmgahon ke sath qibla ki taraf pusht karen, jab hum pani bahayaien (yani peshab karen), phir maine aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko aap ki wafat se ek saal pehle qibla ki taraf munh kar ke peshab karte huye dekha.
(b) sunan abu dawood mein ye alfaz hain ki maine aap ki rooh qabz hone se ek saal pehle dekha ki aap qibla ki janib munh kar ke baithe huye thy.
Khalid bin Abi Salt narrated that: "I was with 'Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz during his Caliphate while 'Uraq bin Malik was with him. 'Umar said: "For such a long period, I have neither faced the Qibla while answering the call of nature nor turned my back towards it." 'Uraq said: "Aisha (RA) told me: "When the Prophet (ﷺ) was informed about the people in this regard, he (ﷺ) ordered to keep the place where one relieves oneself facing the Qibla."

(٤٤١) خالد بن ابو صلت سے روایت ہے کہ میں عمر بن عبد العزیز کے دور خلافت میں ان کے پاس تھا اور ان کے پاس عراک بن مالک بھی تھے، عمر (بن عبدالعزیز (رض) ) نے فرمایا : اتنے عرصہ سے میں نے پیشاب اور قضائے حاجت کرنے کے لیے قبلہ کی طرف نہیں کیا اور نہ ہی پیٹھ۔ عراک کہتے ہیں : مجھ کو سیدہ عائشہ (رض) نے بیان کیا : کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اس بارے میں لوگوں کی بات پہنچی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے ٹیک لگانے کی جگہ کو قبلہ کی طرف کرنے کا حکم دے دیا۔
(441) Khalid bin Abu Salat se riwayat hai ki main Umar bin Abd al-Aziz ke daur khilafat mein un ke pass tha aur un ke pass Urak bin Malik bhi the, Umar (bin Abd al-Aziz (ra)) ne farmaya : itne arsa se maine peshab aur qazae hajat karne ke liye qibla ki taraf nahi kia aur na hi peeth. Urak kahte hain : mujhe Sayyida Ayesha (ra) ne bayan kia : ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko is bare mein logon ki baat pahunchi to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apne tak lagane ki jagah ko qibla ki taraf karne ka hukm de dia.
(442) (a) Narrated Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): I entered the house of Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) and suddenly I saw that the entrance of the latrine of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was facing the Qibla.
(b) Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): When anyone amongst you sits down for answering the call of nature, he should neither face nor turn his back towards the Qibla.
(c) Shabi said: Both of them have told the truth. The saying of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) pertains to open spaces, for undoubtedly the angels and Jinn offer prayers to Allah, and thus one should neither face nor turn one's back towards them while answering the call of nature or urinating in the open. Their lavatories are the houses in which there is no Qibla.

(٤٤٢) (الف) سیدنا ابن عمر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ میں سیدہ حفصہ (رض) کے گھر میں داخل ہوا، اچانک نظر پڑی تو میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے بیت الخلاء کا منہ قبلہ کی طرف دیکھا۔
(ب) سیدنا ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں : جب تم سے کوئی قضائے حاجت کو آئے تو وہ اپنا منہ اور پیٹھ قبلہ کی طرف نہ کرے۔
(ج) شعبی کہتے ہیں : دونوں نے سچ کہا، ابوہریرہ (رض) کا قول صحرا کے بارے میں ہے کہ بلاشبہ اللہ کے بندے فرشتے اور جن نماز ادا کرتے ہیں تو صحرا میں قضائے حاجت اور پیشاب کرتے وقت ان کی طرف منہ نہ کیا کریں اور نہ ہی پیٹھ کریں اور ان کے بیت الخلاء گھر ہیں جن میں قبلہ نہیں ہے۔
(442) (alif) Sayyidina Ibn Umar (RA) se riwayat hai ki mein Sayyida Hafsa (RA) ke ghar mein dakhil hua, achanak nazar pari to mein ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke baitul khala ka munh qibla ki taraf dekha.
(be) Sayyidina Abu Hurairah (RA) farmate hain : Jab tum se koi qaza e hajat ko aaye to wo apna munh aur peeth qibla ki taraf na kare.
(jeem) Shuaibi kahte hain : Donon ne sach kaha, Abu Hurairah (RA) ka qaul sahra ke bare mein hai ki bila shuba Allah ke bande farishte aur jinn namaz ada karte hain to sahra mein qaza e hajat aur peshab karte waqt un ki taraf munh na kiya karein aur na hi peeth karein aur un ke baitul khala ghar hain jin mein qibla nahin hai.
