(2971) (a) It is narrated on the authority of AbuUmar that I offered prayer behind a man in Mecca, and he turned his face (giving salutations) to both sides. I mentioned this to Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), whereupon he said: From where did he get this? But later he said: I heard that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) used to do so.
(b) In Sahih Muslim, it is transmitted on another chain of transmitters, but in it we find the word *An'iya 'Aliqaha* in place of *An'iya 'Aqalaha*.

(٢٩٧١) (ا) ابومعمر سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے مکہ میں ایک آدمی کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی تو اس نے دونوں طرف سلام پھیرا۔ میں نے حضرت عبداللہ (رض) کے سامنے اس بات کا تذکرہ کیا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : کہاں سے اس نے اس کو سمجھا ؟ اور حکم نے فرمایا :
ر سول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھی اس طرح کیا کرتے تھے۔
(ب) صحیح مسلم میں دوسری سند سے منقول ہے مگر اس میں اَنّٰی عَقَلَہَا کی جگہ اَنّٰی عَلِقَہَا ہے۔
(2971) (a) AbuOmar se riwayat hai ki maine Makkah mein ek aadmi ke peeche namaz parha to usne donon taraf salam phera. Maine Hazrat Abdullah (rz) ke samne is baat ka tazkira kiya to unhon ne farmaya: kahan se usne isko samjha? Aur Hukm ne farmaya:
Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) bhi is tarah kiya karte the.
(b) Sahih Muslim mein dusri sand se manqol hai magar is mein An'aa Aqlaha ki jagah An'aa A'alaqaha hai.
Mujaahid narrates from Abu Mu'mar that the Imam of Makkah delivered the Salam to both sides. I mentioned this before Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), whereupon he said: "What business do I have with it?"

(٢٩٧٢) مجاہد ابو معمر سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ اہل مکہ کے امام نے دونوں طرف سلام پھیرا، میں نے عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) کے سامنے تذکرہ کیا تو آپ (رض) نے فرمایا : انی علقہا ؟
2972 Mujahid Abu Mu'ammar se riwayat karte hain ki ahl Makkah ke imam ne donon taraf salam pheira, maine Abdullah bin Abbas (Raz) ke samne tazkira kiya to aap (Raz) ne farmaya : inni 'alaqaha ?.
(2973) (a) This narration is also transmitted through another chain. In it are the words "Inna ameera wa jala."
(b) There are also supporting narrations for this Hadith through the route of Abdullah bin Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

(٢٩٧٣) (ا) ایک دوسری سند سے بھی یہ روایت منقول ہے۔ اس میں ” ان امیرا اور جلا “ کے الفاظ ہیں۔
(ب) اس حدیث کے لیے عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) کے واسطہ سے جو وہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کے شواہد بھی موجود ہیں۔

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would turn to his right side and say, "Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah," until his right cheek could be seen. And when he turned to his left side, he would say, "Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah," until the whiteness of his blessed cheek could be seen.

(٢٩٧٤) سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنے داہنی طرف سلام پھیرتے تو کہتے :” السلام علیکم و رحمۃ اللہ “ یہاں تک کہ آپ کے داہنی رخسار دیکھی جاسکتی تھی اور اپنی بائیں جانب سلام پھیرتے تو فرماتے : ” السلام علیکم و رحمۃ اللہ “ حتیٰ کہ آپ کے رخسار انور کی سفیدی دیکھی جاسکتی تھی۔
2974 Saidna Abdullah bin Masood (RA) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (SAW) apne dahni taraf salam pherte to kehte: "Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah" yahan tak ke aap ke dahni rukhsaar dekhi ja sakti thi aur apni baayen janib salam pherte to farmate: "Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah" hatta ke aap ke rukhsaar anwar ki safedi dekhi ja sakti thi.
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying the takbir (Allahu Akbar) when he would stand and sit, and he would turn his face in salutation to his right and left, until I could see the whiteness of both sides of his blessed cheeks. And I saw Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), they would do likewise.

(٢٩٧٥) سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا، آپ اٹھتے اور بیٹھتے وقت کے وقت تکبیر کہتے اور اپنے دائیں اور بائیں طرف سلام پھیرتے حتیٰ کہ میں آپ کے رخسار مبارک کی سفیدی دونوں طرف سے دیکھ لیتا تھا اور میں نے ابوبکر و عمر (رض) کو دیکھا، وہ بھی اسی طرح کرتے تھے۔
(2975) Syedna Abdullah bin Masood (RA) farmate hain keh maine Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko dekha, aap uthte aur baithte waqt ke waqt takbeer kehte aur apne dayen aur baen taraf salam phirte hatta keh main aap ke rukhsar mubarak ki safedi dono taraf se dekh leta tha aur maine Abubakar o Umar (RA) ko dekha, woh bhi isi tarah karte the.
(2976) It was narrated from Abu Ishaq with a similar narration, but with the addition of: 'Assalamu 'alaikum wa rahmat-ullah, Assalamu 'alaikum wa rahmat-ullah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah). I saw Abu Bakr and 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) doing the same.

(٢٩٧٦) ابواسحاق سے اسی کی مثل روایت منقول ہے اور اس میں انھوں نے السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللَّہ، ِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللَّہِ کا اضافہ کیا ہے۔ میں نے ابوبکر اور عمر (رض) کو بھی اسی طرح کرتے دیکھا ہے۔
2976 Abu Ishaq se isi ki misl riwayat manqol hai aur is mein unhon ne assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi ka izafa kiya hai maine abubakar aur umar raz ko bhi isi tarah karte dekha hai
Narrated Masruq `Abdullah bin Mas`ud (RA) said: I have not forgotten anything. No doubt, I have not forgotten that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to pronounce Taslim to his right and left sides in prayer, and I remember well that he used to pronounce Taslim on his right and left sides (in prayer) saying, "As-Salamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah, As-Salamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah." I (the narrator) think that he (Ibn Mas'ud) further said, "As if I am now looking at the whiteness of his (the Prophet's) face."

(٢٩٧٧) مسروق عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں کچھ بھی نہیں بھولا ۔ یقیناً میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا نماز میں دائیں اور بائیں طرف سلام پھیرنا بھی نہیں بھولا، بلکہ مجھے اچھی طرح یاد ہے کہ آپ نماز میں دائیں اور بائیں طرف سلام پھیرتے اور آپ کہتے : السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللَّہِ ، السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللَّہِ ۔ پھر آپ (رض) نے فرمایا : گویا میں (اب بھی) آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے رخ انور کی سفیدی دیکھ رہا ہوں۔
2977 Masrooq Abdullah bin Masood (RA) se riwayat karte hain ki mein kuchh bhi nahin bhoola. Yaqinan mein Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka namaz mein daen aur baen taraf salam phirna bhi nahin bhoola, balki mujhe achhi tarah yaad hai ki aap namaz mein daen aur baen taraf salam phirte aur aap kahte: Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah, Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah. Phir aap (RA) ne farmaya: Goya mein (ab bhi) aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke rukh anwar ki safedi dekh raha hun.
It is narrated on the authority of Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would turn his face to the right and left while giving salaam until his blessed cheeks were clearly visible, and then he would say: "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah."
This hadith is proven from Saad bin Abi Waqas and Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with them).
Grade: Da'if
(٢٩٧٨) حضرت براء بن عازب (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنی دائیں اور بائیں طرف سلام پھیرتے تھے حتیٰ کہ آپ کا رخسار مبارک واضح نظر آرہا ہوتا تھا، پھر آپ فرماتے : السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللَّہِ ۔
یہ حدیث سعد بن ابی وقاص اور جابر بن سمرہ (رض) سے ثابت ہے۔
(2978) Hazrat Bara bin Aazib (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) apni dayen aur baen taraf salam phirte thay hatta keh aap ka rukhsar mubarak wazeh nazar aa raha hota tha, phir aap farmate: Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah. Yeh hadees Saad bin Abi Waqas aur Jabir bin Samrah (RA) se sabit hai.
Sa'd bin 'Amir narrates from his father that he used to see the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turning his face right and left while giving salaam (greetings) to the extent that he (narrator) could see the whiteness of his (Prophet's) cheeks.

(٢٩٧٩) سعد بن عامر اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا کرتا تھا ، آپ اپنے دائیں اور بائیں طرف سلام پھیرتے تھے حتیٰ کہ آپ کے رخسار کی سفیدی میں دیکھ لیتا تھا۔
Sad bin Aamir apne walid se riwayat karte hain ki main Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko dekha karta tha, aap apne dayen aur baen taraf salam phirte thay hatta ki aap ke rukhsaar ki safedi mein dekh leta tha.
(2980) (a) Amir bin Sa'd narrated from his father Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turning his face to say Salam twice in prayer. He would turn to the right and say: "(Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi)." Then he would turn to the left and say: "Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi," until the whiteness of his cheeks could be seen from both sides.
(b) Ismail bin Muhammad said: I mentioned this Hadith before Zuhri, so Zuhri said: I have not heard this Hadith among the Hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So Ismail bin Muhammad said: Have you heard all the Hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? Zuhri said: No. He said: Two-thirds? He said: No. He said: Okay, half then? So Zuhri paused at the time of half or a third, so Ismail said to him: Keep this Hadith among the Hadiths that you have not heard.

(٢٩٨٠) (ا) عامر بن سعد اپنے والد سعد (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو نماز میں دو سلام پھیرتے دیکھا۔ آپ دائیں طرف سلام پھیرتے تو کہتے : ( (السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللَّہِ ) ) ۔ پھر بائیں طرف پھیرتے تو کہتے : السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللَّہِ یہاں تک کہ آپ کے رخساروں کی سفیدی دونوں طرف سے دکھائی دیتی تھی۔
(ب) اسماعیل بن محمد کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے زہری کے آگے اس کا حدیث کا ذکر کیا تو زہری نے کہا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی احادیث میں یہ حدیث نہیں سنی تو اسماعیل بن محمد نے کہا کہ کیا رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی تمام احادیث آپ نے سنی ہیں ؟ زہری نے کہا : نہیں۔ انھوں نے کہا : دو تہائی ؟ انھوں نے کہا : نہیں۔ انھوں نے کہا : چلو آدھی سہی ؟ تو زہری نصف یا ثلث کے وقت رک گئے تو اسماعیل نے انھیں کہا کہ اس حدیث کو ان احادیث میں رکھو جو تم نے نہیں سنیں۔
(2980) (a) Amir bin Saad apne walid Saad (rz) se riwayat karte hain ke maine Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko namaz mein do salam pherte dekha Aap daen taraf salam pherte to kahte ((Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi)) phir baen taraf pherte to kahte Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi yahan tak ke aap ke rukhsaron ki safedi donon taraf se dikhayi deti thi
(b) Ismail bin Muhammad kahte hain ke maine Zuhri ke aage iska hadees ka zikr kiya to Zuhri ne kaha mainne Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki ahadees mein yeh hadees nahi suni to Ismail bin Muhammad ne kaha kya Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki tamam ahadees aapne suni hain Zuhri ne kaha nahi unhon ne kaha do tihai unhon ne kaha nahi unhon ne kaha chalo aadhi sahi to Zuhri nisf ya suls ke waqt ruk gaye to Ismail ne unhen kaha ke is hadees ko un ahadees mein rakho jo tumne nahi suni
(2981) (a) Narrated Jabir bin Samurah (RA): When we prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), we used to point with our index fingers, saying, "As-salamu 'alaikum, as-salamu 'alaikum." The Prophet (ﷺ) said to us, "What is wrong with the people that they point with their hands in prayer as if they are the tails of evil horses? Is it not enough for any of you - or he said, "Is it not enough for one of you" - to place his right hand on his thigh, then greet those on his right and left?"
(b) Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated in his Sahih, in the hadith of Masruq bin al-Ajda': "Then he should greet his brother to his right and his left."

(٢٩٨١) (ا) سیدنا جابر بن سمرہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ جب ہم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پیچھے نماز پڑھتے تو اپنی انگشت شہادت کے ساتھ اشارہ کرتے ہوئے کہتے : السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمُ ، السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ ، نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہمیں فرمایا : ” لوگوں کو کیا ہوگیا ہے کہ وہ نماز میں اپنے ہاتھوں سے اشارے کرتے ہیں جیسے وہ شریر گھوڑوں کی دمیں ہیں ، کیا ان میں سے کسی کو یا فرمایا : تم میں سے کسی کو یہ بات کافی نہیں کہ آدمی اپنے دائیں ہاتھ کو اپنی ران پر رکھے پھر اپنے دائیں اور بائیں طرف سلام پھیرے۔
(ب) امام مسلم (رح) نے اپنی صحیح میں مسعر بن کدام کی حدیث میں فرمایا : ” پھر اپنی داہنی اور بائیں طرف والے بھائی کو سلام کہے۔
(2981) (a) سيدنا جابر بن سمرہ بيان كرتے ہيں كہ جب ہم رسول اللہ كے پيچھے نماز پڑھتے تو اپنی انگشت شہادت كے ساتھ اشارہ كرتے ہوئے كہتے : السلام عليكم ، السلام عليكم ، نبی نے ہميں فرمايا : ” لوگوں كو كيا ہو گيا ہے كہ وہ نماز ميں اپنے ہاتھوں سے اشارے كرتے ہيں جيسے وہ شرير گھوڑوں كی دمين ہيں ، كيا ان ميں سے كسی كو يا فرمايا : تم ميں سے كسی كو يہ بات كافی نہيں كہ آدمی اپنے دائيں ہاتھ كو اپنی ران پر ركھے پھر اپنے دائيں اور بائيں طرف سلام پھيرے۔
(b) امام مسلم نے اپنی صحيح ميں مسعر بن كدام كی حديث ميں فرمايا : ” پھر اپنی داہنی اور بائيں طرف والے بھائی كو سلام كہے۔.
It is narrated from Wasil bin Hiban that he asked Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: You say: Allahu Akbar. Whenever you bow down, you say the takbir, and whenever you rise from bowing and prostration... then (at the end) you say: As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah and turn to your right. Then you say: As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah and turn to your left.

(٢٩٨٢) واسع بن حبان سے روایت ہے کہ انھوں نے سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) سے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی نماز کے بارے پوچھا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : آپ فرماتے : اللہ اکبر۔ جب بھی نیچے ہو تو تکبیر کہتے اور جب بھی رکوع و سجود سے اٹھتے۔۔۔ پھر (آخر میں) کہتے : السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللَّہِ اور اپنی دائیں پھرتے ۔ پھر کہتے السَّلاَمُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللَّہِ اور اپنی بائیں طرف پھرتے۔
2982 Wasi bin Habban se riwayat hai ki unhon ne Sayyidina Abdullah bin Umar (RA) se Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki namaz ke bare puchha to unhon ne farmaya : Aap farmate : Allah Akbar. Jab bhi niche ho to takbir kahte aur jab bhi ruku o sujud se uthte... phir (aakhir mein) kahte : Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah aur apni dayen phurte . phir kahte Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah aur apni bayen taraf phurte.
Salma bin Kahil reported that I heard from Abu Anbas Hajar that Alqama bin Wa'il (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from Wa'il (may Allah be pleased with him) that he prayed with you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)... The hadith is long. In it is also that you turned (to give salam) to your right and left.

(٢٩٨٣) سلمہ بن کہیل بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابو عنبس حجر سے سنا کہ علقمہ بن وائل (رح) وائل (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی۔۔۔ حدیث طویل ہے۔ اس میں یہ بھی ہے کہ آپ نے اپنے دائیں اور بائیں طرف سلام پھیرا۔
2983 Salma bin Kaheel bayan karte hain ke maine Abu Anbas Hajar se suna ke Alqama bin Wail (rah) Wail (rz) se naql farmate hain ke unhon ne aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath namaz parhaadi Hadis tawil hai is mein ye bhi hai ke aap ne apne dayen aur baen taraf salam pheira
(2984) (a) It is narrated from Abu Razin that Sayyidina Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) spread the Salam to his right and left, then stood up.
(b) The same narration has been narrated by Mughirah from Abu Razin and in it, it is stated that he (Sayyidina Ali) said: "Peace be upon you, peace be upon you."

(٢٩٨٤) (ا) ابو رزین سے روایت ہے کہ سیدنا علی (رض) نے اپنے داہنی طرف اور بائیں طرف سلام پھیرا ، پھر کھڑے ہوگئے۔
(ب) اسی روایت کو مغیرہ نے ابو رزین سے روایت کیا ہے اور اس میں ہے کہ آپ نے کہا : سَلاَمٌ عَلَیْکُمْ ، سَلاَمٌ عَلَیْکُمْ ۔
2984 a Abu Razin se riwayat hai ki Sayyidina Ali (RA) ne apne dahni taraf aur baen taraf salam pheira, phir kharay hogaye.
b Isi riwayat ko Mughirah ne Abu Razin se riwayat kiya hai aur is mein hai ki aap ne kaha: Salamun alaikum, Salamun alaikum.
