Chapter on Evidence That the Passage of a Dog or Similar in Front of Him Does Not Invalidate the Prayer
باب الدليل على أن مرور الكلب وغيره بين يديه لا يفسد الصلاة

Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once we were in the jungle. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us with Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him). Our female dog and donkey were roaming around. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the Asr prayer and both of them were moving in front of him. He neither removed them nor scolded them.

(٣٥٠٨) حضرت فضل بن عباس (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ایک دفعہ ہم جنگل میں تھے۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) حضرت عباس (رض) کے ہمراہ ہمارے پاس تشریف لائے۔ ہماری ایک کتیا اور گدھی چر رہی تھی۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے عصر کی نماز پڑھی اور وہ دونوں آپ کے سامنے پھرتی ہیں۔ آپ نے نہ تو انھیں ہٹایا اور نہ ہی ڈانٹ ڈپٹ کی۔
(3508) Hazrat Fazl bin Abbas (RA) bayan karte hain ke ek dafa hum jungle mein thay. Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Hazrat Abbas (RA) ke hamrah humare pass tashreef laaye. Humari ek kutiya aur gadhi char rahi thi. Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Asr ki namaz parhi aur wo dono aap ke samne phirti hain. Aap ne na to unhen hataya aur na hi daant dapt ki.
(3509) Narrated Fazl bin Abbas (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us with Abbas (RA) while we were in the forest. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered prayer in the forest, and there was no barrier in front of him. Our donkey and bitch were jumping and playing in front of him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not mind them.

(٣٥٠٩) حضرت فضل بن عباس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) حضرت عباس (رض) کے ہمراہ ہمارے پاس تشریف لائے اور ہم جنگل میں تھے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے جنگل میں نماز پڑھی اور آپ کے سامنے سترہ نہیں تھا۔ ہماری گدھی اور کتیا آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے سامنے اچھل خود کر رہی تھیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کی پروا نہیں کی۔
Hazrat Fazal bin Abbas (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (SAW) Hazrat Abbas (RA) ke humra humare pass tashreef laaye aur hum jungle mein thay. Aap (SAW) ne jungle mein namaz parhayi aur aap ke samne sutra nahi tha. Humari gadhi aur kutiya aap (SAW) ke samne uchhal kood kar rahi thi. Aap (SAW) ne un ki parwah nahi ki.
Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Nothing breaks the prayer, but still, prevent someone passing in front of you as much as possible, because it is Satan."

(٣٥١٠) حضرت ابوسعید (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : نماز کو کوئی چیز نہیں توڑتی، پھر بھی جہاں تک ممکن ہو گزرنے والے کو منع کرو کیونکہ وہ شیطان ہے۔
(3510) Hazrat Abu Saeed (RA) farmate hain ki Rasool Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Namaz ko koi cheez nahin torti, phir bhi jahan tak mumkin ho guzarne wale ko mana karo kyunki woh shaitan hai.
Abu Dawud (Rahimahullah) narrated that Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) was praying when a young Qurayshi man started to pass in front of him (RA). He (RA) stopped him, but he tried to pass again. He (RA) stopped him again, until he had stopped him three times. When he (RA) finished praying, he said: "Nothing breaks the prayer, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘Stop him as much as possible for he is a devil.’"

(٣٥١١) ابو وداک (رح) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابو سعید خدری (رض) نماز پڑھ رہے تھے تو ایک قریشی نوجوان آپ (رض) کے سامنے سے گزرنے لگا، آپ (رض) نے اسے منع کیا، وہ پھر گزرنے لگا تو انھوں نے اسے پھر روکا حتیٰ کہ تین بار روکا جب آپ (رض) نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو فرمایا : نماز کو کوئی چیز نہیں توڑتی، لیکن رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جہاں تک ممکن ہو اسے روکو کیونکہ وہ شیطان ہے۔
(3511) Abu Dawdak (rh) bayan karte hain keh Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (rz) namaz parh rahe thay to aik Qureshi naujawan aap (rz) ke samne se guzarne laga, aap (rz) ne usay mana kya, woh phir guzarne laga to unhon ne usay phir roka hatta keh teen baar roka jab aap (rz) namaz se farigh huay to farmaya : namaz ko koi cheez nahin torti, lekin Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : jahan tak mumkin ho usay roko kyunkeh woh shaitan hai.
Narrated Abu Sa`id (RA): `Uthman and `Ali (RA) said: Nothing breaks the prayer of a Muslim, but try to prevent (anyone) passing in front of you as much as you can.

(٣٥١٢) سیدنا ابوسعید (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ عثمان اور علی (رض) نے فرمایا : مسلمان کی نماز کو کوئی چیز نہیں توڑتی لیکن جہاں تک ممکن ہو آگے سے گزرنے والے کو روکو۔
(3512) Saidina Abusaid (RA) se riwayat hai ke Usman aur Ali (RA) ne farmaya: Musalman ki namaz ko koi cheez nahi torti lekin jahan tak mumkin ho aage se guzarne wale ko roko.
(3513) Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) reported from his father that nothing that passes in front of a worshipper invalidates the prayer.
(b) Abu 'Uqayl has also narrated it in the marfu' form, but the more correct view is that it is mawquf.

(٣٥١٣) سالم (رح) اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نمازی کے سامنے سے گزرنے والی کوئی چیز بھی نماز نہیں توڑتی۔
(ب) ابو عقیل نے اسے مرفوعاً بھی روایت کیا ہے لیکن زیادہ صحیح موقوف ہے۔
(3513) Salim (rah) apne walid se riwayat karte hain ki namazi ke samne se guzarne wali koi cheez bhi namaz nahin torti. (b) Abu Aqil ne ise marfooan bhi riwayat kiya hai lekin ziada sahih mauqoof hai.
Ikrimah (RA) narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) was asked whether a dog, a donkey, and a woman passing in front of a person praying invalidate the prayer. Ibn 'Abbas (RA) replied: {إِلَیْہِ یَصْعَدُ الْکَلِمُ الطَّیِّبُ وَالْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ یَرْفَعُہُ } [Fatir: 10] “To Him ascends good speech, and righteous deeds exalt it.” These things do not invalidate the prayer, but their passing is disliked.

(٣٥١٤) عکرمہ (رح) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابن عباس (رض) سے پوچھا گیا کہ کیا کتا، گدھا اور عورت سامنے سے گزر کر نماز توڑ دیتے ہیں ؟ ابن عباس (رض) نے فرمایا : {إِلَیْہِ یَصْعَدُ الْکَلِمُ الطَّیِّبُ وَالْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ یَرْفَعُہُ } [فاطر : ١٠] ” تمام ستھرے کلمات اسی کی طرف چڑھتے ہیں اور نیک عمل بھی جسے وہ بلند کرتا ہے “ یہ چیزیں نماز کو نہیں توڑتی لیکن ان کا گزر جانا مکروہ ہے۔
3514 Akrama (RA) bayan karte hain ke Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) se poocha gaya ke kya kutta, gadha aur aurat samne se guzar kar namaz tod dete hain? Ibn Abbas (RA) ne farmaya: {Ilayhi ya'asadul kalimut tayyibu wal 'amalus saalihu yarfa'uhu} [Fatir: 10] " Tamam sathre kalimat isi ki taraf chadhte hain aur nek amal bhi jise woh buland karta hai" Ye cheezein namaz ko nahi todti lekin inka guzar jana makrooh hai.
